  • This video will show you how to replace all eight glow plugs on a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 6.6 Duramax Diesel LB7. This procedure should cover the Duramax diesel engine from 2001 to 2004. Glow plugs were purchased from Amazon and I have provided a link to them below.

    thank you for the video, I was about to start pulling the steering shaft out but figured I'd look on RUclips to see if there was a way not too. you saved me tons of time, thanks.

    Thank for the video. Just finished my 2003 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. I was most interested in the part with the steering stem being in the way. It was very helpful and informative.

    Thanks Brother! I got 7 out of the 8 in on my 07 LBZ but could not figure out how to get a good angle on the 8th one behind the steering shaft. Thank you immensely!

    Wow!... those were significantly easier than mine! Probably took around an hour to get each one out without breaking them off. Even after I got them screwed all the way out where no threads were engaged, still had to soak them with WD40 and work them back and forth and in and out little by little. What a relief when I finally got the last one out!... I really didn’t want to have to pull the heads!

    No mechanic here. -After changing all 8 GP’s, (new ACDelco) two come back showing open circuit. #3 was faulty before I changed all 8 out, and #8 was not faulty before I started. Any ideas? Do I need to change the GP wires?

    • @BLUECOLLARGARAGE
      @BLUECOLLARGARAGE  3 года назад +2

      I would double check the metal stap/bridge is getting a good connection. Also use a meter to see if your getting voltage to the plugs. Maybe try swapping #8 with #7 and #3 with #4 and see if your still getting an open circuit just to make sure you didn't get a couple bad ones.

    I noticed you didn't clean the carbon out of the glow plug hole. Is this something you don't feel is necessary? thanks. I have a 2004 with the original glow plugs (121k miles) so may be needing to do that in near future. I wish you would do more vids in the future. You do a good job.

    • @BLUECOLLARGARAGE

      Thanks for the comment Jim. No I have never cleaned the carbon out of the glow plugs holes and have never had a problem. I am trying to put out more videos for everyone when I get the time. Thanks for subscribing.

      Jim Buford since you have a 2004 duramax. Yours should last pretty much to 300k. I have an 05 with 330k miles and i just ordered my glow plugs which came out to be 180bucks
