Thank you for a short and concise guide that even now several years later can help people decide if the game is something for them or not! In fact, this video helped me decide if I wanted to buy it.
This video was perfect, exactly what I was looking for! I have watched people play on Twitch but didnt get the game at all. Just picked it up on ps plus for free but i have never played a game like this before. Needed a tutorial like this that explains everything, lol! Thanks for the basic beginner video!
Great video and great beginner's guide. It definitely got me interested in the game and I'll almost definitely check out your series on it, and maybe even play it myself. Just you going through the game as a tutorial already got my brain moving thinking of different things to do, like the route I would personally take on the map, despite my limited knowledge of the game
Thank you! I just got it and this is an amazing tutorial since the game's own was pretty weak. Had a ton of fun on my first run already! although i got rekt on the second floor...
I wish you would have covered exhaust. I still don't get how it works. Also, once we die, do we lose the cards that we gained? I switched between Silent and the other one, and once I did this, I started off with the beginning deck again. Can you explain when you keep upgraded and gained cards, and when you lose them?
Exhaust means they’re removed from just that round of combat. The next fight you’ll get them back. And it’s a roguelike game. So every run you start will be it’s own separate different games separated from all of the others
Side note: powers don't count as being exhausted when you play them, they just kind of vanish. Usually the distinction doesn't matter but it might come up occasionally.
nice, helpful video. i dont know if i'd call the watcher very difficult compared to the others. i'm new to the game and the watcher is my favorite - i'd say she's probably one of the easier characters for me.
I think it depends on where you’re at in your spire gameplay. I feel like if you’ve gotten a few wins under your belt and understand deckbuilders then the watcher is fine. I know a lot of players who struggle to get an ironclad win on A0 and that definitely means you will struggle with the watcher. Balancing the stances is a layer of difficulty that messes with people
Can you recommend other great deck building games on steam? I am just getting into them. I LOVE inscryption. It gets a little too weird towards act 2-3 but LOVED act 1...even better than this one.
I’ve heard so much about this game and have been going back and forth with buying it. I ended up seeing it for free on Apple Arcade. I’m wondering if the Apple Arcade (mobile) version is the same as the regular one? If anyone knows? Either way I’m excited to start and will buy it for switch or steam if the Apple version is different. I don’t really get into mobile games so I’m excited to have one that Id actually play and enjoy.
You are not qualified to make this video. Don’t get me wrong, I love your channel and your videos, but the way you play is just not good enough to give tips and advice on the subject.
I mean, I highly disagree but sure. I have 250 hours in the game, ascension 10 with each character and would be higher on each if I played ascension. I only play mods right now because it performs well on RUclips.

I just picked up this game on the Switch. Your video was HUGELY helpful! Thanks so much!
There are a lot of beginner's guides but this one really explains it a lot. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed!
@@OlexaYT Saw your videos. Maybe you can make a playlist and categories. Thanks.

I have no reason to watch this but I love your content and you can always get more interaction

Glad this helped! There’s a ton of different paths to success on Slay the Spire which makes it such a good roguelite
When you have 100+ hours but watch beginners guides unironically
When you have 600+ hours and does The same stuff
when you have 0 hours but wanna see if its something u would put 100+ hours into
When you have 4 hours but watch 20 hours of tutorials
I have 0 second, I'm downloading 😅

Playing a power card will not trigger the effect of Feel No Pain or Chiron's Ashes for that reason, for example.
thank you for the video
You’re welcome!
Thanks. that was helpful.

Mobile is the same! Just no mods
Tyler FYI the return of the white screen flashing is present in this video...
It’s when it’s modded sadly and I had mods on for spawning cards. Don’t know how to stop that
There's a similiar game on mobile called pirate outlaws
There’s tons of games in the same deck building roguelite vein for sure
@@OlexaYT this pirate outlaws game is literally copying slay the spire though...
That’s pretty bad then lol. This happens all the time with mobile games. Toxic environment
Who *IS* olexakid
Vjay Hou
*Secretly NorthernLion*
lol was about to buy then this showed up...
*RUclips KNOWS*
Neow is actually a girl
I still don't understand scry
Instructions unclear, how do I press play if I cant left click since I'm on ps4? Bad video.

Your crazy, with all due respect. There's certainly no qualification that one needs to be able to show off a game on youtube. 🤦♂️
