A fun fact is that the invasive mosquitos in Hawaii are the major reason the Hawaiian honeycreepers (what Oricorio is based on) are declining. They give them avian malaria, which they cannot handle because they evolved without ever being exposed to it. I love it that Oricorio completely dominates Buzzwole one on one though
People ask about why Game Freak hasn't done a dolphin Pokemon for a long time (Until Gen 9) but I'm surprised it took until Gen 7 to at least have Pokemon based off a mosquito and cockaroach. I think if we get another roach Pokemon, I think Bug/Steel and Bug/Flying are an obvious choice for types seeing as roaches and fly and withstand radiation unless exposed to the heat of a nuclear blast.
It's also kinda bonkers that GAME FREAK hadn't made a T-rex Pokémon for the longest time until Gen 6, despite Fossil Pokémon being a thing since Gen 1 (17 years prior!) It's also pretty wild that we haven't got an apple Pokémon until Gen 8 with Applin (although it's technically a worm in an apple)
@@ladytyltea4607 actually, they're based on a specific species of fly known as the bee fly. I think we still have yet to see a Pokémon based on the common housefly.
When they were first revealed I remember when people (obviously a loud group) were like "they don't even LOOK like Pokémon". And I have some points to bring up, a couple of which contradict each other. 1), we have this "they look fake/stupid" discussion every generation 2), of course they don't (look like Pokemon) because they're from other realities 3) WHAT do you mean they don't look like Pokemon? At least of them ironically do look decently in line with some of the weirder Pokemon as is. 4) It lets things get weirder and be more creative. - We desperately needed Ultra Sun and Moon to be more about exploring the Ultra realities. I think a Legends Arceus styled game like that could be incredible

I always thought that Buzzwoles Shiny was a reference to the Hulk. Also big, muscluar things tend to be green: You got The Hulk, 40K Orks, Doomguy, DB Broly etc.
So fun fact, cockroaches groom themselves quite a lot, it's how they understand their environment by cleaning themselves with their antenna to both keep themselves clean and sense what kind of environment they are in from the stuff they clean off them. This might also be another inspiration for why Pheramosa hates getting dirty, if it is indeed inspired by a cockroach.
2:28 I'm a bit surprised you would say this. Yes kakapo remain endangered but thanks to captive breeding and moving survivors to predator free islands there are more kakapo in the wild now than there have been in over a hundred years.
Oh that's good to hear! I don't remember which documentary I saw that said this, but it was a couple years ago that I watched it. Great to hear they are doing good on the conservation efforts!
Kartana and Xurkitree are my favorites. Kartana being a tiny flat piece of origami that can and will merc you, is just so funny to me. And Xurkitree being this wire creature with frayed ends and a light for a head is a fantastic design choice (the fact that it learns power whip is just fantastic tbh)
Fun fact about Pheromosa’s connection to cockroaches; despite being associated with filth and trash, cockroaches are actually known to obsessively clean themselves all the time, and can sometimes border on being obsessive over grooming themselves.
i love how the ultra beasts are based on contradictions, well at least some of them. Nihilego is flexible glass, Buzzswole is a strong mosquito, and pheromosa is a beautiful (for some people) cockroach
Interestingly enough, Buzzwole displays traits of female mosquitoes (only females drink blood, males feed on nectar) and Pheromosa displays traits of male cockroaches (longer wings, or in this case, "hair").
Even tho i always name my buzzwoles as guys ans pheromosa as girls, my boyfriend have the idea to mix them having a "female" buzz and "male phero It was fun we have fun battling and trading in sun/moon Good times i kinda miss those games
I love the ultra beast and I love how they are as strong as legendary pokemon but that they are just common Pokemon in their dimension. Which makes me think that the “legendary/mythical” ones would be some sort of eldritch horror with base stats in the thousands similar to gigantamax eternatus. Also think that eternatus is an ultra beast of some kind.
While the Ultra Beasts are certainly strange and alien, they still give off the vibe of being part of Arceus’ domain. Eternatus in its Eternamax form does not. It feels like an outsider to the multiverse. This is sort of fitting if the Four Alchemical Dragons theory turns out to be true: each of the dragons comes from different places (Zygarde from within the natural order, Necrozma as a rebel elsewhere in the multiverse, Eternatus from outside entirely, and we’ll just have to see for the Gen 9/reflective one).
@@thelotusking9901 Lorewise, yeah. Nebby and Necrozma are both UBs and Legendary. But in the game code they are only classified as Legendary and not UBs, prolly to prevent the Beast Balls from effectively becoming Master Balls against them.
To this day I'm still waiting for a Mystery Dungeon game (or any other Pokemon only spin-oof) to see how they write the Ultra Beats, are they the villains, a completely alien menace, or just lost creatures. So much potential yet to be used.
MD based around the Ultra Beast would be a good way to expand their lore. The ones we see are the common ones! Basically the starting route PKMN. I doubt we will ever get more lore on them but here's hoping! 😃👍
I do think Buzzwole's shiny color is a reference to maybe the most swollen up character in the entire DC universe, Bane. In most of the comics, he's addicted to Venom, a drug that enhances his strength and it's most depicted as a bright green fluid, so it would fit
Another thing about UB's being common is that Poipole is actually given out to new trainers like a starter pokemon so It must be somewhat common to do that. But then again you can't find most starter pokemon just out in the wild. So Idk
Am i the only one who loves how he also changed the music to fit the UB? Nihilego starts creepy, Buzzwole with hyped up gym music, Pheromosa with a super model house music
In the prerelease time for Gen7, the similarities between Pheromosa and Lusamine, Lily and Nihilego and Guzma and Xurkitree made me think they were going to do an alien invasion bodysnatcher plot of sorts. Considering most of my nightmares as a kid came from bodysnatcher stories, I was intrigued to say the least.
Yeah, I remember there being a lot of theories about the Aether Foundation all resembling Ultra Beasts before the game’s release. Though I recall people struggling to figure out what member was meant to resemble Buzzwole, and they decided on…Wicke.
Seriously, Wicke!? I'm pretty sure I saw most people assume Buzzwole would be Gladion, only because he had black and red on his sweater and because he was really the only other option left when people were guessing.
I was thinking Professor Kukui for Buzzwole, because he's the one with the biggest muscle focus. But to be honest, beyond the three I mentioned above, the idea fell apart. I mean, I attributed Guzzlord to Hala, just because they're both very rotund... It really doesn't hold up except for the three, but it did make me wonder if they were going there in an early draft.
I honestly love all the Ultra Beasts, they’re such interesting designs and can be extremely fun to use with Pheromosa, Stakataka, and Kartana being three of my favorites
You couldve also pointed out how UBs also have some contradictions in them Like for Nihilego I think it's supposed to be a solid jellyfish hence the rock type Kartana for example too is a paper origami that actually has strength and can break/slice things with ease
@@Dr.Patient i still dont get why they get hate like that. Ive been a fan since the franchise came to the US and Gen 7 is one of my absolute favorites. @@thedragonwarrior5861 I know this is kinda odd, but I can see Guzzlord's predator being something microscopic. Like, a sentient virus of sorts that specifically targets Guzzlord due to how big those fuckers are.

One thing about Nihilego that may be a stretch, is that it may be also referencing the trope of silicon based life? It and Stakataka are both Rock type Ultra Beasts. Altho Stakataka may fit that bill more.
I'm surprised you overlooked Nihilego being rock cause it's a silicon-based lifeform, the second-most possible element for life to be based on, and Buzzwole's shiny possibly being an Incredible Hulk reference, THE big strong hero like how Buzzwole is THE big strong Pokemon
From what I remember, Sun and Moon had their plots and settings totally rewritten during the middle of production (the originally had a standard Gym challenge for example). However despite the rewrite, GsmeFreak couldn't make any new 3D assets as those were handled by a different company (Creatures Inc. maybe?) so they had to handle the redesign using what they had on hand. This could potentially explain a lot of details, from why certain NPCs strongly resemble a few Ultra Beasts to why a few very distinct looking NPCs barely show up in the game at all (like the Flying and Dragon specialists)
Actually lockstin, niheligo looks like lily because in its pokedex entry it says it can change form and it's original form is unknown. So that means niheligo itself mimicked lily to draw in prey by looking like a little girl, that is also why it behaves like one, because it's mimicking lily.
I love ultra beasts I was waiting so long for you to cover them. I'd be a bit interested if you also mentioned their unique universes they come from Also shout out to the amazing pokemon go ultra beasts trailer. Making a sort of found footage little horror pov thing I highly recommend.
I think the reason why shiny buzzwole is green, is a reference to Kamen rider Ichigo, who was green with red eyes, similar to buzzwole's bulging red muscles
GF should make a Legends Necrozma game set in Ultra Space where you work in the Ultra Recon Squad where you have to travel between different dimensions in Ultra Space chasing Necrozma around to stop it from absorbing the light from different dimensions. Ultra Beasts would be normal pokémon everywhere, with a pokédex full of them, maybe with ultra beast version of pokémon we've already seen. The game would end with Necrozma getting to Alola in the main pokémon universe during the events of USUM, and you have to work with Elio and Solgaleo/Lunala in order to stop Necrozma, as the events of USUM play out.
A comment on the "are UBs legendaries?" debate: I think the term "legendary" depends on the availability of the pokémon to the people of a specific universe that depends on number and difficulty to find/catch, which could explain why Koraidon and Miraidon are legendaries despite being based on Cyclizar while the paradoxes of the Legendary Beasts and Swords of Justice aren't, since you can battle the latter multiple times (I think) while there are only two motorcycle lizards in the world. That said, in the context of their own universe, here's what I think the potential for each UB is for legendaryness: *Nihilego:* Doubtful. There are just too many of them in their Ultra Space. *Buzzwole/Pheramosa:* Could go either way. We do only encounter one each time we visit their Ultra Space, but we also usually only have one Spiritomb per game. *Xurkitree:* See Nihilego's reason. *Celesteela/Kartana:* Quite probable. Celesteela has go grow from a seed rather than evolve from a previous form to become what it is. Kartana on the other hand has many followers, and there aren't that many of the pokémon. *Guzzlord:* Yes. If you can eat a universe, you probably qualify for the status. *Poiple + Naganadel:* Starter. *Stakataka/Blacephelon:* Who knows? We encounter them in Alola.
Imagine if the next "Pokemon Legends" game takes place in ultra space. Instead of joining the galaxy corps, you're joining the Ultra Recon Squad to study different ultra beasts, and maybe even fight more monstrous ones, like guzzlord. The final boss could be Necrozma. You could explore different worlds, studying dozens of different species of ultra beasts. Poipole could be a starter.
Pheromosa is one of the most brilliantly designed Ultra Beasts, I love the detail about its reluctance towards touching anything. It views our world as dirty and unclean, the same way we humans view cockroaches.
I think nihilego would win because it could easily just take over the minds of some of the ultra beasts to make them serve it, maybe by the end of the battle it could fuse with pheromosa like with lusamine for more power, I mean in the anime it was shown how powerful it was by it self creating massive amounts of poison and thick hard alien walls.
fun fact: real life roaches groom themselves constantly, despite their reputation for being filthy because they live in dirty environments. this could have to do with pheromosa’s avoidance of touching things
Ultra Beasts are a little sad because it is speculated in games the reason they are attracted to Ultra Wormhole energy is because they want to go back home.
Here’s an interesting thing that I realized when you brought up the moon jellyfish; see, when I was a kid, my family and I would go to Virginia Beach for vacation every year. Now I don’t remember exactly how old I was when this happened, or if it was even the first instance, but it was definitely elementary school age, 8-11, that range. And I remember going out to the shore and seeing a sea of jellyfish corpses washed up on the shore. I remember poking them and squishing them, separating them into chunks, despite having no idea what they were. Of course one of my parents explained to me that they were dead jellyfish, I don’t remember having any sort of extreme reaction to that. When I saw the moon jellyfish in the video I recognized the four circles on top of the jellyfish, orb, thing, because the jellyfish corpses on the beach had the same pattern. And I immediately went “THAT’S WHAT SPECIES THEY WERE?!” And my suspicions were pretty much confirmed when you said that they were basically everywhere. As for how they all died, I don’t know, it was cloudy that day and the water was cold, but I don’t think jellyfish are that fragile. If there’s any marine biologists reading this, do you have possible explanations on what could have happened? I remember the jellyfish corpse field thing happening at least once, perhaps more, Also, to save you the trouble of having to scroll back up scene of incident is Virginia Beach, summertime.
Also I thought nihiligo’s rock/poison typing was just gamefreak taking a chance to assign an unused typing to a pokemon and to use a nonsensical typing make nihiligo seem more alien.
This is a guess but Buzzwole's shiny is based on the comic book supervillain, Bane from "Batman" and the chemical he uses is green. And Buzzwole becomes stronger when consuming the energy from pokemon.
Besides bug aliens also often being colored green in media, it's possible that Buzzwole's shiny is a reference to Akira Toriyama's bug-like alien designs: namely Inner Lavos from Chrono Trigger and Cell from Dragon Ball Z. (They are also *very swole* because Toriyama loves drawing accentuated muscles)
A while ago I came across a guys' video about how the ultra-beasts might have basis on the 7 deadly sins. The ones you speak about in this video as an example: Nihilego is Greed, Buzzwole is Pride and Pheramosa is Lust.
@@elemomnialpha It having parasitic attributes it does whatever it takes to get the intelligence of whoever or whatever it latches onto. Also Stakataka is who I personally put as Sloth.

I wonder what a game set in ultra space would have as the other two starters, since poipole is canonically an ultra space world starter. The only type triangle you can make with poison is poison/grass/ground--would be funny if the grass one was just a weird interdimensional bulbasaur with a different secondary type
You probably did this on purpose, but Duraludon being shown as an example of a pseudolegendary is wrong. It doesn't have the base stat total, the evolution line, or the pokedex placement to qualify. Dragapult is the pseudo of gen 8
0:18 Actually, no because that's not how biological taxonomy works. If we found an animal-like lifeform on Venus, it would have an entirely different classification from Animalia (animals). Unless panspermia was discovered to actually be real, Venus would get its own tree of life separate from Earth's. We might call it a "Venusian animal" in common parlance, but it would be inaccurate and only useful as a layperson shorthand.
I think it would be a good idea for Lockstin to do a sort of enviromental charity initiative considering how often he ends up talking about enviromental troubles. I mean obviously it's a good idea to be donating to certain causes anyway if people have the funds resources available, but there are definitely some people who lack knowledge of which organizations are worthwhile, and a seal of approval from someone noteworthy can go a long way for that.
Weird personal story: when I was little, my family would occasionally go to the beach and one time, my sister and I were playing on shore when a bunch dead jellyfish washed up on shore. I don't remember much aside from thinking they were so strange because they were lifeless and squishy. It's a good thing we didn't get stung by their tentacles seeing as we didn't know what they were.
9:36... Hmm, pheremosa is skinny hipped/thoraxed, the final segment isn't fused, with bigger "wings" and definitely no ootheca. Butch Mosquito, Femboy cockroach?
I’m fairly certain Shiny Buzzwole is meant to be a nod towards the Namekians of Dragonball, more specifically Piccolo, whose arms have a similar “outlined muscle” look to Buzzwhole.
I want to see an edit of the star wars series where it replaces the word force with swag. The prophecy speaks of one born to bring balance to the swag. He will be swag sensitive and born of pure swag. Search your feelings you know this to be facts.
Not sure if anyone has already mentioned it but buzzwole's shiny might be based on the drug venom, that bane uses in dc comics. Its usually depicted as being green.
An animal like thing found on another planet would only be an animal if it happened to be genetically related to Terran animals. If not, we would have to create a new word/category.
This video reminded me what a hilarious missed opportunity the battle with Nihilego!Lusamine was. It was wild seeing this monstrous intimidating design and...then she throws a Pokeball and it's a totally normal trainer battle. It would have been cool if after you defeated all of her Pokemon you had to fight her herself. Either the twist is that that's her last Pokemon ~or~ after the trainer battle she attacks you and it's treated like a Totem Pokemon.
If an animal-like alien lifeform were found, they would not be considered animals (scientifically anyway, the public would almost certainly still refer to them as such). This is because animals are lifeforms which belong to the kingdom animalia, which is very large group of Earth life distinguishable by the structure and elements present in their cells all descendant from a single common ancestor. As alien life would not be part of this group, they could not be considered animals unless the definition was changed after their discovery. They would instead be animal analogues, which likely gain a seperate term to be referred to by.
Shiny buzzwole always reminded me of yanmega, really. Same red blobs on green plus black spikes look. Dragonflies eat mosquitoes, so I guess it's a you-are-what-you-eat thing? Kind of suitable then that yanmega has a type advantage against buzzwole. Though I actually don't remember if actual meganeura ate mosquitoes, if they were buzzing around the Carboniferous at all.
So I like to name my Pokemon off of some of my characters (I'm an author/writer), and, funny enough, I actually named my Buzzwole after a female character and my Pheromosa after a male character.

@@ladytyltea4607 actually, they're based on a specific species of fly known as the bee fly. I think we still have yet to see a Pokémon based on the common housefly.

I love Ultra Beasts, and while it seems unlikely, I wouldn't mind if new ones returned in future generations.
When they were first revealed I remember when people (obviously a loud group) were like "they don't even LOOK like Pokémon".
And I have some points to bring up, a couple of which contradict each other.
1), we have this "they look fake/stupid" discussion every generation
2), of course they don't (look like Pokemon) because they're from other realities
3) WHAT do you mean they don't look like Pokemon? At least of them ironically do look decently in line with some of the weirder Pokemon as is.
4) It lets things get weirder and be more creative.
-
We desperately needed Ultra Sun and Moon to be more about exploring the Ultra realities. I think a Legends Arceus styled game like that could be incredible
Ash and solgaleo in the sun/moon anime found a unknown UB that they didn't show in the last episode of that anime. So there is some hope that there are more to be shown.
Edit: btw the episode is: "Thank You, Alola! The Journey Continues!"
@@Runedrace are you sure I don’t remember that happening
@@ThatInsaneTreecko ash mentioned meeting an Ultra Beast he never seen before in "Thank You, Alola! The Journey Continues!". Also it was never shown on screen.

@@Runedrace Oooh I didn't know this! That's great!!
I always thought that Buzzwoles Shiny was a reference to the Hulk. Also big, muscluar things tend to be green: You got The Hulk, 40K Orks, Doomguy, DB Broly etc.
also, some energy drinks are advertised to be some kind of green alien technology.
monster energy and mountain dew come to mind
What if instead of Broly it's a reference to first form cell since he's a giant bug man that sucks the energy out of people to get stronger
Makes total sence
i thought it was referencing the diseases that mosquitoes can carry because in my mind i link diseases with toxic waste (neon green)
I think it's a Kamen Rider reference. I mean, look at the picture shown at 7:16 . Then look at Shiny Buzzwole at 8:59 . They look similar to me!
I wish they would have explored more the ultra beast concept. I would have love to see what other creatures exist on the ultra beasts's home worlds.
Yay!
To be clear, there's still only a few hundred Kakapo in existence, but given there were once only a few dozen it's a big improvement.
this might be the only channel who does justice to all the effort Game Freak puts in for these designs and concepts. I'm always glad for having you
Kartana and Xurkitree are my favorites.
Ultra Beasts are the best things in this entire series, I love that people remember them so fondly!
Also the thumbnail is adorable
i love how the ultra beasts are based on contradictions, well at least some of them.
Even tho i always name my buzzwoles as guys ans pheromosa as girls, my boyfriend have the idea to mix them having a "female" buzz and "male phero
It was fun we have fun battling and trading in sun/moon
Good times i kinda miss those games

@@namkwalno they’re just from another dimension where rules are reversed
@@Paradoxe_0 ok but its funni
I love the ultra beast and I love how they are as strong as legendary pokemon but that they are just common Pokemon in their dimension. Which makes me think that the “legendary/mythical” ones would be some sort of eldritch horror with base stats in the thousands similar to gigantamax eternatus. Also think that eternatus is an ultra beast of some kind.
We have already seen a Legendary UB, it's called Necrozma
PS: We have also seen a UB Starter, it's called Poipole
While the Ultra Beasts are certainly strange and alien, they still give off the vibe of being part of Arceus’ domain. Eternatus in its Eternamax form does not. It feels like an outsider to the multiverse. This is sort of fitting if the Four Alchemical Dragons theory turns out to be true: each of the dragons comes from different places (Zygarde from within the natural order, Necrozma as a rebel elsewhere in the multiverse, Eternatus from outside entirely, and we’ll just have to see for the Gen 9/reflective one).
@@Joseph_Drew_III where would the 4 dragon come from?
I’m fairly certain the nebby line are legendary ultra beasts. I might be wrong there though
@@thelotusking9901
Lorewise, yeah.
With the newer generations, it would be cool for mystery dungeon to incorporate UBs, Eternatus, and Paradox mons to their lore
Mystery Dungeon Ultra?
@@justsomejojo I heard somewhere that it might've been a scrapped idea.
That would’ve been cool.
I honestly love all the Ultra Beasts, they’re such interesting designs and can be extremely fun to use with Pheromosa, Stakataka, and Kartana being three of my favorites
You couldve also pointed out how UBs also have some contradictions in them
Like for Nihilego I think it's supposed to be a solid jellyfish hence the rock type
Kartana for example too is a paper origami that actually has strength and can break/slice things with ease
I Love The Ultra Beasts. Especially Since Gen 7 was the Generation I grew up with.
Stop that your making me feel old and I'm only seventeen. I grew up with gen 5
Hey my first game was gen seven. I’m astonished to find someone else who likes them. I feel they get way more hate than they deserve.
I’m so sorry to hear that but I’m happy for you all the same 😂
@@Dr.Patient i still dont get why they get hate like that. Ive been a fan since the franchise came to the US and Gen 7 is one of my absolute favorites. Omg same!
They actually were officially equated to legendaries at one point. A few years back during the "Year of Legends" event or whatever it was, the pokemon website had a list of legendary pokemon, and there were the Ultra Beasts
They were also allowed in the sword and shield mythical melee battle event which only allowed legendary and mythical Pokémon.
Also Also, when The Crown Tundra got announced with Dynamax Adventures, the Catch Every Legendary promo image included the Ultra Beasts.
I always liked the idea of the Ultra Beasts having natural predators (Ultra Predators I like to call them). I mean, the Ultra Beasts are common species in their dimension, so it's not entirely impossible to think about.
It's entirely possible, after all, as far as we know buzzwole is just a regular mosquito from it's own world

Orbeez or smth yeah
Fun fact! Pheremosa’s cleanliness actually reflects real-life roaches, who compulsively clean themselves more than you might think
I remember that i was so excited when i realised that nihlego's name means no(nihil) self(ego)
That could be a reason it latches on to people like it did with Lusamine. It's got no identity, so it's taking theirs! I think that's another alien trope, too.
I originally thought that everyone who dressed up like an ultra beast, eventually were revealed to be one as part of the post game. Like lillie was nihalego, lusamine was pheremosa, guzma was xurkitree, etc
The trailers called attention to the humans resembling the UBs. It's like it was intended at some point to be a major reveal that they're related to them in some way!
@@commonviewer2488 i think it was a red herring, like how the demo made Lillie super cagey and mysterious for no reason except to make people suspicious of her
@@mitkitty Lusamine *did* fuse with Nihelego at one point, we just weren't allowed to be the ones to battle the hybrid. Game Freak definitely had the idea, they just didn't act on it.
It’s so dumb to me they changed the catch rate of the early ultra beasts. I thought by having an early Pokémon catch rate it was like “Buzzwole is this universe’s Pidgey”
Pheromosa could also point to an opposite specie called Emerita brasiliensis, commonly called "Tatuí" here (tah-too-EEH), a white crustacean hardly over a couple inches that loves to burrow in the wet part of the beach's sand. They are actualy indicators of a CLEAN beach.
I actually really like Shiny Buzzwole, it always reminds me of Mountaindew with the high energy it brings
Never knew about the invasive species thing but now that you say that, I can see it for most of them. And Pheramosa may just be my favorite bug type, so it's great to see a video on them.
Ultra Beasts are the coolest thing ever. I still can't get over the fact they actually included them. Interdimensional aliens are where I'm at!

"Also, who would win in a battle royale? This isn't foreshadowing"
Ah, yes. As subtle as a brick through a window.
Actually lockstin, niheligo looks like lily because in its pokedex entry it says it can change form and it's original form is unknown. So that means niheligo itself mimicked lily to draw in prey by looking like a little girl, that is also why it behaves like one, because it's mimicking lily.
It's form changing ability is also seen when it takes over lusamine as it doesn't even look like a nihilego anymore.
Never realized the UB's were inspired by invasive species, they just fit smusum so much
I really love Ultra Beasts. Still need to catch them in Moon myself. ^^;
Since the Ultra Beasts are literally ailens, would be really cool to see some more Ultra Beasts in the future since Ultra Sun and Moon introduced them
Knowing you, you would want an Egyptian feline themed one.
@Marav Reviews he is obsessed with the ankha zone animation. Practically in every comment section that references it. Even his own videos.
I love ultra beasts I was waiting so long for you to cover them. I'd be a bit interested if you also mentioned their unique universes they come from
Also shout out to the amazing pokemon go ultra beasts trailer.
That said, in the context of their own universe, here's what I think the potential for each UB is for legendaryness:
*Nihilego:* Doubtful.
Glad to see an ultra beast video considering how interesting their origins are ! Very informative and entertaining
How'd Lockstin completely overlook Buzzwole's shiny being Hulk?
This channel has become so good now. Cant wait for new battle royal, UB and Scarlet and Violet videos!

Needless to say, I'm exited for that.
I remember the jellyfish corpse field thing happening at least once, perhaps more,
Also, to save you the trouble of having to scroll back up scene of incident is Virginia Beach, summertime.
Also I thought nihiligo’s rock/poison typing was just gamefreak taking a chance to assign an unused typing to a pokemon and to use a nonsensical typing make nihiligo seem more alien.
I always thought shiny buzzwole was a reference to piccolo since the green and red remind me of his arm bump things
11:50 Ironically, cockroaches are known to clean themselves constantly. Which is probably why Pheramosa hates being touched.
I think pheromosa shouldve been bug/fairy, so it resists draco meteor, the same way the cockroaches survived the meteros that killed the dinosaurs
This is a guess but Buzzwole's shiny is based on the comic book supervillain, Bane from "Batman" and the chemical he uses is green. And Buzzwole becomes stronger when consuming the energy from pokemon.
The collor of Buzzswoll shiny maybe has something to do with the Predator thermo vision
Wouldn't Nihilego be Sloth?

@@jvbon646 Fair. I mean the video I'm referencing focused only on the first 7 Ultra Beasts revealed years ago when Sun & Moon first came out. Even he admitted some of them were a stretch.
I wonder what a game set in ultra space would have as the other two starters, since poipole is canonically an ultra space world starter. The only type triangle you can make with poison is poison/grass/ground--would be funny if the grass one was just a weird interdimensional bulbasaur with a different secondary type
Fun fact: All mythical Pokémon are legendaries but not all legendaries are mythical.
No, they are distinct categories. Like, it doesn't really matter, but this is not a rectangle vs square situation.
You probably did this on purpose, but Duraludon being shown as an example of a pseudolegendary is wrong. It doesn't have the base stat total, the evolution line, or the pokedex placement to qualify. Dragapult is the pseudo of gen 8
If ultrabeasts are super common in their own worlds then just imagine an army of Buzzwhole flying at you directly

Any chance you’ll talk about Ash’s championship win. It’s kinda different than what your Channels about but it’s still pretty cool
I kinda want to see the Urshifu forms go up against Buzzwole and Pheromosa.
Stakataka is underrated
Fight me
Shiny buzzwole always reminded me of yanmega, really.
