The reason Linus didn't get his sneak attack at 1:06:15 is due to what's either a bug or a weird quirk of how initiative reordering and shared turns works. After the Meenlock died at 1:03:16 Linus' turn was moved to a shared turn with Findon. This caused his turn to start during Findon's, and for whatever reason his sneak attack cooldown was still waiting for the point where his original turn was in the initiative order.
Agree, I think something is bugged with your turn being “moved up” due to loss of enemy. I guess the game effectively thinks it’s an extension of your previous turn… or something in the game doesn’t trigger a full “turn refresh”…
One of the conditions to get a sneak attack is that you must not have disadavtange against your target. If you do have disadvantage it doesn't matter if the other conditions are fulfilled, you won't get a sneak attack. As for Mike not getting his action when he joined the fight, that's fully working as intended. If you join or initiate combat by using an attack, you lose the action, that's the rules. There's even a class built around this mechanic: the rogue-assassin class explicitly states that assassins DO get their action refunded when joining/initiating combat with an attack. Perhaps Mike should respec into being an assassin, because he does try to play his thief as one
Yeah, I think I’m figuring out the sneak attack finally! But we thought he lost his action even on the turn after he entered, which was weird. I need to rewatch his video though…
@@immersioneer He lost his sneak attack on the next round, which I can't explain. Never seen that happen. Haven't seen his side of the stream, though, so maybe there was a reason (like having disadvantage) why he didn't get to use his sneak attack
@@IsilionNELE Possible, I need to watch it too. I just had something weird when recording a Gith episode - extra attack did not trigger on the extra action I got from a potion of speed... that's not right, is it?
@@immersioneer No, that's normal, it's part of the honour mode difficulty. Haste and related haste effects do not trigger "Extra Attack". The same applies to the extra action you can get from Bloodlust (the elixir). Action Surge does still trigger "Extra Attack", since that's a fighter exclusive ability. So Action Surge is the exception, not the norm.
I understand losing the main action during the turn I entered, due to having used an attack to join the combat. But it doesn't explain why I lost my bonus actions, too.
Btw, environmental water, like the one in that cave does not always count for anything. I don't remember about this place specifically, but I wouldn't count on it being a water surface.

Best explanation I've heard. I was very, very confused.

Kinda meh :/ Given all other interactions in the game, you should get wet from running through a stream of water like that.
Mean MeanLocks.
Yeah, these guys were vicious. Toughest enemies we faced so far, I think.
Congratulations, gentlemen! This was a mean fight 😅
Thanks! Yeah, it was looking a little dicey in the middle there!
I think Isobel was downed but not killed. They wanted her alive. Could be wrong.
Hmmm, I didn’t notice. They might resurrect her at Moonrise Towers. She looked pretty dead :/
@immersioneer Honestly, I don't remember what happened to her when I had the same failure. It was my very first playthrough. 😁
