I just have to say thank you for putting in the extra time and effort to film yourself walking away in to the distance. It is time, effort, and probably a bit frustrating to retrace steps to retrieve the camera - but it is sooooo cool to watch you walking off in to a beautiful scene. Cheers amigo! Stay safe & enjoy!
As always man.... so appreciate your efforts! You make us feel like we’re right there hiking with you. Been looking forward to you going through this section.
Great strategy. You were bookin' thru the desert, some real beauty and a lot of hot and ugly... I love the idea that you are slowing down and taking time to enjoy the beauty of the Sierras. As always, thanks for sharing the adventure.
I didn't like you much at first, I just saw a few of your between hike videos in Boulder I think? Now after watching this series, I can't get enough! nice work. I'll be watching every episode, of every trail.
ANYONE PLEASE if you have IT pain, tightness, or numbness down the side of your upper leg DO NOT foam roll. The most destructive thing to do is mash that tendon with foam pads. Find a lacrosse ball and work the area where the IT band connects to the hip. Small movements and medium pressure. Love your videos Darwin!
Your videos are special, they have the ability to make me feel like I'm actually out there with you enjoying the wilderness and the trail. I hope one day, ill be out there myself but something about your videos are deeply satisfying. Keep it up Darwin, you're an inspiration.
Kudos to you Darwin....That was a very smart decision to have a stove when hiking a snowy environment......you can use it to melt snow for water, just in case.
I say it again: glad to see that you are human like the rest of us! Of course from your question and answer vids I had the ill conceived notion that maybe you were "super-human" or something like that. This was a real nice episode. You have a great speaking voice and present very well.
Two reasons to slow down on that trail. 1. The scenery deserves to be enjoyed and not rushed threw. 2. Your body would appreciate the easier pace especially with the extra weight you have to carry. Thank the bears for that extra weight you have to tote along with you.
Thanks so much for sharing your adventure with us! The scenery is awesome, and I enjoy how you share about your day, plans for the next day, etc. I really look forward to watching your video each week! I am recovering from cancer treatment and started getting into backpacking last fall. I've learned a lot from watching your informational videos, but the actual adventure videos are even more enjoyable! Thanks for sharing your passion. I now want to hike the PCT and AT. I'm starting smaller, but making plans for the future.
Thanks for all the hard work you put into your videos the amount of knowledge we have gaind watching them has been so super helpful in preparing for our thru-hike next year
Darwin, I really enjoy your videos and I appreciate the quality and craftsmanship. Keep 'em real, keep 'em interesting, keep 'em relevant...keep up the good work. Thank you!
Thanks so much for taking us along on your journey. It looks like your Bot is working out well. I really love the idea of cold soaking So you don’t have to boil the heck out of something and waste all that fuel.
I am really enjoying these. Every lunch hour on Thursday's I sit down and look forward to seeing where this adventure has taken you. Keep it up brother.
I've been watching these in reverse order and it's pretty funny listening you talk about what you think you're going to be doing in the coming days, and knowing what you actually had coming at you!
Thank you. Your best trail video yet. Amazing views and great commentary. This is going to be an inspiring journey. Bless you. Roll that IT before it hits your knee.
Now we are getting to the parts of the PCT I think I'll like most. I want to do the PCT and CDT one day, but those desert sections, while beautiful, are not my cup of tea. Currently exploring AZ/Grand Canyon/Coconino and getting ready to head to Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Big green mountains and cold snow/glacier fed rivers are calling to my soul. Thank for another great vid, Darwin!
Night crawler just wants to be Darwin but we all know that there is only one Darwin on the trail, it's just jealousy. Keep hiking your hike we all know that you will. Sir you are the ambassador of trail vlogging. Hell I'm jealous. Hike on bro.
Thanks for sharing. Regarding your IT band in the hip area, a nice easy stretch: Raise your leg laterally about waist high or slightly higher, using a prop (rock, step, bridge rail etc.) With your hands on your hips, lean laterally towards the raised. outstretched leg. Do this until things loosen up. Do not over stretch. Good luck!
Wholesome to see how much joy some coconut oil or soy sauce is bringing. Really appreciating the small things! I'm no expert but it seems to me you would benefit from slowing down a bit? Savour the scenery and take it easy on your injuries. 20 miles is a lot.
Funny that you are cutting it down to 20 miles a day. I just completed a 35 mile out and back in the Sierra and I feel like I got bullied, and had my lunch money taken by the walk. In my defense, I have grown a little long in the tooth, but am trying to hike for as long as I am allowed. Be safe, and healthy, Darwin !
great vids about your hike. it seams the hike or way can be found easy? any struggle while your on the road? i need to go this year. amazing nature no people could not be better. best
Nice! Wise choice, I think, to keep the mileage down just a bit. To me, 20 miles is great! I would be bragging my head off if I could hit that distance.;-) Gorgeous scenery. Can't wait to see your adventure with Whitney!
Exploring With Dan! Lobe both darwin and dixie we have learned so.much from.watching their videos all the info will come in handy for our thru-hike next year
I never heard of Baskets, I'm going to have to find her, what's her channel called? I also just started to watch starburst video's , anyone of you hear of her?
Second Time, i watch all your pct-docus, just great, hoppin they bring Corona down soon, cause i am waiting for the oportunity to see your awesome country. In case of emergency, we will send care parcels to the us. We want to stay on the side of the us. Greetings Form Germany.
My BV450 gets here this week. So funny to spend all that time agonizing over base weight and tossing stuff sacks then having to throw a big ole food container that weighs north of two pounds.
I've got a backpacking trip planned in the Lake Tahoe (California) area planned for next month and am thinking about giving cold-soaking a try for a day to see how I like it. Is there a recipe or guidelines for Darwin's signature couscous and bell pepper meal?
So beautiful there. I love your videos. I think it's wonderful, how you and your wife live your lifes 'separate but together.' I wish I knew your real name. I won't call you by the trail name because I just don't think that's going to be the end of your story. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. God speed and stay safe.
I don’t know if he wants his real name out there in the RUclips world but you can find it on the AT list the year he thru hiked it. Even knowing his real name, Darwin just seems right. Hike on, Darwin! Thanks for the amazing videos!
I may have not been paying attention on the bear canister since you cannot hang it, do you leave it close by your tent or put it down range from you? Thanks and great vlogs.
Darwin Huge fan of your channel I have a big question if u can please answer for me! did u need a permit for whitney? i want to plan a hike there and i live in new york i dont want to waste the trip across the country and get turned around. how do i get up whitney without permit? thank you for your time ande consideration in thiis matter! Happy HIKES!

Wonder how many extra miles he put on? He sure does get the stunning scenes!
yea by yourself its a pain but if you have a partner it really helps
i guess it is kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to stream newly released movies online?
@Miles Khalid flixportal :D
@Ralph Carter Thank you, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I appreciate it !
I'm loving these videos as I sit in self-isolation. The PCT looks so diverse and so beautiful. Everyone take care out there.
Oh man this gives me butterflies I remember getting to Kennedy Meadows and this is when I felt the PCT really made me a hiker for the rest of my life.
Darwin, thank you so much for making these awesome videos of PCT! I feel like all of us watching are there with you!
As always man.... so appreciate your efforts! You make us feel like we’re right there hiking with you. Been looking forward to you going through this section.
Yea i look forward every day when watching this series to getting back on the hike .
I could almost feel and smell the freshness of the air, the light is so crystal clear - beautiful
It’s awesome to see a portion of the trail I hiked on over last summer.
If for some reason I have failed to hit the like button on any of this series I am binging it's because I'm so eager to get to the next episode.
I spent two weeks hiking around there in 1971. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Darwin!
I don’t think I’ve every seen you so peaceful and happy. Or maybe just tired. Looks like a great adventure. Thanks for taking us along.
Great strategy. You were bookin' thru the desert, some real beauty and a lot of hot and ugly... I love the idea that you are slowing down and taking time to enjoy the beauty of the Sierras. As always, thanks for sharing the adventure.

Chuck Littleton also it gets harder on your body in higher elevation so that’s another reason to slow down
Thanks so much for sharing your adventure with us! The scenery is awesome, and I enjoy how you share about your day, plans for the next day, etc. I really look forward to watching your video each week!

Just got done climbing Mount Whitney yesterday, awesome to see how the trail looks from the other side. Keep up the great work!
Hey Darwin thank for the teaser .... Mt Whitney can'wait for your next video.hike safe be safe.
Wise choice resupplying in Bishop. There’s not a whole lot in Independence.
I love seeing you in the exact places I was at in 2016.
Great storytelling. Love the adventure. Would love to hike it.
I am really enjoying these. Every lunch hour on Thursday's I sit down and look forward to seeing where this adventure has taken you. Keep it up brother.

Enjoying your hike. Glad to see you recovered from that leg problem.
So enjoying following your hike! Happy trails from Connecticut. Thanks for sharing!!

Looking forward to seeing the Whitney climb. Thank you for taking us along your beautiful journey!
The Sierra's! My favorite place on Earth! Been following your PCT videos, thanks for the updates while on your trip.
My go to non negotiable luxury item is a tens unit. I highly suggest getting one for the pain in your hip and IT
This is first class all the way. You deserve more subscribers. Enjoying this! Stay safe, have fun.

You’re looking and sounding great! Thanks!
Beautiful places!!! What an amazing opportunity for you to be there and I'm sure the scenery is worth the pain. 🤗🤗🌳🌳🌺🌺
Thank you for doing what you do. Best of luck on the PCT
Night crawler just wants to be Darwin but we all know that there is only one Darwin on the trail, it's just jealousy. Keep hiking your hike we all know that you will. Sir you are the ambassador of trail vlogging. Hell I'm jealous. Hike on bro.
Really enjoying your videos and convincing me to try hiking. Looking for a pack and gear to get started. Thanks for the inspiration!

I just caught up on all your PCT videos. Best of luck on the trail!
Congratulations on a beautiful and inspiring film series.
Great video. Glad you are smart and have micro spikes. Heard a few people skip it for the weight savings. Look forward to your next video.
I'm super excited for you to hit the JMT and Ansel Adams Wilderness...Heaven on earth.
Keep it up man! I can’t wait to see the summit. You’re a true inspiration.
Wholesome to see how much joy some coconut oil or soy sauce is bringing. Really appreciating the small things! I'm no expert but it seems to me you would benefit from slowing down a bit? Savour the scenery and take it easy on your injuries. 20 miles is a lot.
Darwin your videos are my solace.
Good stuff Darwin. Looking fwd to Mt W footage...thanks for the effort to show your hike.

Great video! Don't push too hard on that injury... Remember, it's easy to be hard, it's hard to be smart:). God bless!
Another great video. Keep doing what you're doing Darwin!

Come up to Canada and do The Great Trail!
So I'm presuming you saw your senior doggie also at Kennedy Meadows? How's he doing? Couple tail wags and a glad to see you?
I just picked up the Columbia Silver Ridge Hiking Shirt yesterday! Awesome to see you still wearing it! Awesome piece of gear!
Good job I see your videos becoming more raw and real love it ❤take it all in👍
looks beautiful!!
I'm going hiking next year!
Maybe start learning the names of some of the trees and plants just for fun???
Enjoy your videos!! Keep an eye out for signs of the missing hiker Kris Fowler (Sherpa) when you get to Washington. He's been missing for 2 years 😔
Does it get any better than the High Sierra!!! Happy Trails Darwin!
What a place... is snow and ice normal for June.
I noticed it’s always the same advertisement at the beginning of your video. All green! Lol...
Cold soaking sucks🤣 IT is aggravating , good video
I'm with you. Cold soaking is friggin' gross.
My BV450 gets here this week. So funny to spend all that time agonizing over base weight and tossing stuff sacks then having to throw a big ole food container that weighs north of two pounds.
Great stuff !

Bea, Honey dog and me , you can find Darwin’s “real” name in an earlier video... like way back in the beginning of his Vlogs..
Thank you. :) Can you save me some time and effort and just tell me what it is?
Bea, Honey dog and me, can’t remember, but he used it.
How many meals a day do you eat? Awsome videos and greetings from sweden.
I was going to ask if it was Craynip from the AT2015
Darwin Huge fan of your channel I have a big question if u can please answer for me! did u need a permit for whitney? i want to plan a hike there and i live in new york i dont want to waste the trip across the country and get turned around. how do i get up whitney without permit? thank you for your time ande consideration in thiis matter! Awesome video!
Great stuff man! Keep on hiking!
So now you vlog with cliffhangers at the end? Bad boy.
Make sure you keep your receipts at VVR.
