- Join us as we head to Cadbury World located in Bournville, Birmingham! In this vlog we experience everything that Cadbury World has to offer as of November 2023, including all of the different walkthrough areas and experiences. We also take you on board the awesome Cadabra Dark Ride and talk about a new dark ride currently under construction. We also talk about what we could expect from this attraction in the future, now that it's operated by Merlin Entertainments!

Well they have added a lot to Cadbury's World over the year's. I remember when they used to show the manufacturing process. I know George Cadbury was a pioneer of fair trade and staff training at Birmingham University, including staff housing, in Bournville.
That’s very interesting to hear!
George Cadbury's original Birmingham house, is now a Hall of Residence, that can help people go to university, with Access to Higher Education programmes, through the Workers Education Association.
Well they have added lots to cadbury's world over the year's in Britain 🇬🇧 West Midlands Britain 🇬🇧
Same in York with the Rowntrees really improved the standard of living for employees and families with much improved housing and parks ect

Cadbury could definitely add a "tea cup" ride but instead it would be a "hot chocolate cup" ride with a big, old fashioned chcolate pot in the center and "steam" coming out and around the cups.

What my highlight of this vlog is when your lovely mum mentioned the bit about the fudge in the gift shop and I quote (10 packs of fudge £1.70 oh I like a finger of fudge) that bit made me chuckle so much it brought tears lol very funny your mum really is and to see Charlotte and your mum loving all the chocolate freebies

My son was only talking about this last night when he realised his Merlin pass covered a visit to Cadbury World, did I want to go - being an avid chocolate lover - of course I said yes ! Up popped your vlog, how cool was that. Really enjoyed the tour and seeing your parents, your mum is such a fun person. I was singing along with her "a finger of fudge is just enough" I remember that advert 😄

I always loved Cadbury world, especially its more educational side of it and the walk through experience!! My family love their dark ride Cadabra! Hope they keep it!

I dont remember much of my 1st visit, because I was only a toddler at the time. But I do recall going on the Cadabra ride, seeing the factory in 'action', and getting every type of chocolate bar imaginable as freebies.
I then went again when I was older, and agree it felt strange walking around with none of the machinery going. I still had a nice day out, a bag full of chocolate and more memories of that visit, but I feel the attraction lost a lot of its original charm and appeal.
With the UK losing a lot of its manufacturing heritage, I feel it is important to preserve the 'factory tour' atmosphere. Maybe using animatronics and machinery on a smaller scale would be a good idea to show how factory production/machinery changed over time, and you can still have information boards throughout that show pictures of the workers, the factories history etc.
Then in the outdoor area maybe you could have more fairground-style, family rides for kids (Cadbury themed of course 😉)
I went to Cadbury world for the first time end of last month. The cadabra ride has far better functioning animatronics than the It’s a Small World ride at Disneyland Paris lol 😂
I really enjoyed this vlog, great fun to see your parents again (I especially loved your mum’s rendition of ‘A finger of Fudge’!😄) I haven’t been to Cadbury World since 2011 but really enjoy it there. It’s a shame you don’t see much of the factory production now, but at least they are making a new dark ride! I only hope they never change ‘Cadabra’ ; what a wonderful, charming, magical little dark ride. And so nostalgic for me as I remember riding it when I was little. 🥰

Nice vlog, really enjoyed and look forward to next one. Got a positive future here if add new additions? Wasn't expecting a dark ride to be honest, being the next addition to this factory attraction. Would of thought they would add a rollercoaster or something else? Think a boat ride would of been quite epic? Giving Wonka vibes? Maybe even a log flume indoors? Would of been quite epic I think? Maybe could be a new addition in future? Would be epic. Could 100% see a coaster added outside at somepoint, would be a good new addition I think. Could even create a flying coaster? That would be epic on a story of them transporting their chocolate all over the world. That would be an epic attraction to add here? Vekoma Flying Coaster? Would love to see this become both a museum of chocolate aswell a theme park, would work very well I think. Or another coaster ideas could have a GCI Wooden Coaster built with a big Fredo statue? Like Wickerman lol? Or around all various chocolate characters? Would be epic whatever they add? But nice vlog, have liked & shared, love seeing your parents star in vlogs, is it possible we could see them more in future vlogs? Altogether you have a good humor, would love to see them both on future experiences alongside both yourselves? Also, could be a good opportunity with your Mums coat, mum to star in a Cadbury advert? Infact you could all on Sanbrooke Adventures create one for Entertainment purposes? Could be something worth considering? By the way aswell, cannot wait for the new attraction you plan in future on creating? Have you got any location ideas yet where your thinking of building it? When? As would be good for that to happen. Cannot wait for that. Cheers for creating & uploading vlog, really enjoyed & look forward for more on this channel in future. 😀👍

Glad I saw this, was thinking of visiting I didn't realise it was no longer possible to see the production lines. I have memories visiting when it was a fully working factory.
It was nice seeing your parents in the Vlog as well Shawn
only live about 15 minutes away so i've been coming for 20 years or so. Used to be absolutely fantastic, full size chocolate bars free in every area, you'd probably leave with close to 10 each, used to see so much more of the factory too and also had about 20 topping options in the melted chocolate cup! Massively went down hill when Cadbury was acquired by Mondelez in 2010, used to get maybe 4 treat sized bars throughout the whole tour. Nice to see it's getting some well needed love again. Always a trip down memory lane seeing the informative videos on the tour as they've remained the same as long as I can remember!

It's alright without merlin passes the prices are extortionate but the only downfall is its in Birmingham I think

Can't wait to see the trackless dark ride (if it is that). I agree with you, Shawn, they should keep the existing ride too. They could have quite a few dark rides at this place - how about an indoor boat ride about finding cocoa beans in South America? It could be set on the Amazon and feature anacondas, jaguars and toucans. They could also have a Flying Gondolas ride where you sit in Mr Cadbury's Parrot rather than elephants.

My mum worked at Cadbury's for 30 years (Moreton, Wirral). Gone now, Yanks bought it, ruined it, now a housing estate.

We use to make cream eggs too. Mini ones. Interesting machines, the BinDula we called it made mini eggs. Cannot remember the Easter egg machine but that’s was a feat of engineering massive spiral like machine with fridges, the spinning this in chocolate making area but on a massive scale in a tube with moulds.
Before my first time that I went to Cadbury world, my mum placed golden tickets in my Cadbury chocolate bar. Just like Charlie and the chocolate factory.
I use to work in a chocolate factory in Bedford around 1994, they made Cadbury’s Easter eggs and some of the bars as well as jelly sweet, was called Jacob suchard and later meltis. The factory has gone now. I worked on the line and drove a forklift, cos we worked nights it was more chilled, we could eat any chocolate on the line as long as it was not packaged. You do get sick of it after a while.

Omg I love Cadbury world I came here with my auntie and her granddaughter we had a blast I remember when they showed us the machines making the chocolate but we couldn’t photograph them because it was private but we got to see them in action and tasting chocolate and then we came through the doors into the gift shop i got the Cadbury gorilla and a big massive Cadbury bar 😋😋😋😋😋😋🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫 oh and we got to ride the cadabra twice ❤❤❤
