The BabyMetal "yeah!" At the end is the best part. Lol... a gentle Kawai touch at the end
Oli (Lead singer) is a big fan of Chester Bennington and he said that Hybdid Theory influenced this record a lot... The track "Itch for the cure" is an omage to "Cure for the itch" from hybrid theory. You can mash the vocals from one step closer with 1x1 and it fits perfectly... Love this attention to detail ^^

I have to say that this is pretty good. Back in their deathcore times, BMTH was quite hated - I remember them supporting Machine Head in the UK and get booed out of the stage and people throwing things at them. They've definitely evolved for the better with this song and even Dear Diary

Pretty early in the video you said it sounded like some Linkin Park screams. The whole EP has a Linkin Park vibe. The interlude into this song is called "Itch for the Cure", and I'm sure if you look at the track listing on Hybrid Theory you'll see a very similar song title for that album's interlude. The LP influence is not an accident!
He nailed it when he said "doom eternal soundtrack", since they had Mick Gordon himself produce this.

Did you hear the part after the chorus (I think it's around 2.40 Min in the song)? It's such a sick mix with the deep growl and the double bass under Su's voice. You were moshing so hard your headsets fell off :D
Absolutely agree with Alan on the auto-tune/effects, especially on Su's voice. Really not necessary, but it's not like it ruins anything. It's just the stylistic choice and how BMTH do things nowadays. It's a great song, but I still think it would sound even better without it.
I'm hoping for another collab between the two, but more Babymetal style and not as much electronics/effects mixed in. Which is not to say this wasn't a lot of Babymetal. One of their producers/writers wrote the chorus, lyrics and music, if I understood the interview, in which someone from BMTH talks about it, right. They know each other for 5 or 6 years now and always hung out at festivals and stuff. Olli Sykes said they always tried to make it a bit easier for the girls to feel more welcome in the mostly male backstage areas.

Yes! We need more women and their clean vocals in metal in general. That's what drew me first to Babymetal and that's also a big reason why I listen to more stuff from Japan than "from the west" the last few months. A lot of amazing female metal bands and vocalists there.

I think the autotuned singing went well with the song since it gives it a cyberpunk feel. Heavy and electronic sound along with harsh and autotuned vocals mesh so well in my opinion :D

This is my favorite song of 2020....just watching you 2 enjoy it just as much as I did gave me goosebumps like when I first heard it. It's been on repeat since it came out. Actually the whole album/EP is a banger!

Something you guys pointed out that I never thought of... Growing up LP was my favorite band and I actually idolized Chester's singing. Oliver Sykes kind of has the same vibe and now I realized why I like BMTH.

I am told by other listeners that Moa is in the mix, but may be difficult to identify due to the voice effects. I think she can be identified in the Whhoooaaahhh!!! towards the end
I think she's also screaming in the "you're corrupted" duo part, but totally unsure.
@@Kane_SIF She is. I just love how those two voices combines, even if it's hard to tell. Of course, she is also on the track before this one, saying "I wanna be a kingslayer" with Su.
@@Kane_SIF it is hard to tell. A video is hard to make at the moment, but it would be good to see one showing all contributors. Oli has revealed that the BM team contribution to Kingslayer was insanely detailed and complex, and also that they had previously done a demo (presumably when they were touring together) which was never completed.

@Prepster M I have been told that the first verse in Japanese is Moa before it switches back to English. It can be hard to tell with they way they have modified the voices, but the more I listen the more I tend to agree that it is Moa.

Ok you sold me! I am subscribed and following LOL. I saw your reaction to Sabaton's cover of Motorhead "1916" and loved it, but I noticed you had a Babymetal shirt on! So I wondered if you had done a reaction to this! And you did! It is one of my favorite songs I love Bring Me The Horizon and Babymetal! As a radio DJ once said "you have a pause, then you have the most 'anime' sounding non-metal Japanese lyrics go on, but it is the MOST metal thing you can ever hear!". They were brilliant!

Sometimes auto-tune is to cover up a shitty singer, but, not here because Sumetal can fucking sing!
Here auto-tune is used like any effect pedal would be used on guitars, as an effect.

I was just like that dude in black. Even though Oli didn’t have the best vocals they were indeed iconic at the time. Suicide Season and Sempiternal are my all-time fav’s back in their deathcore days. And then they became pop and kinda fell out of love for them. But this song, and the entire EP has the best of both genres, as well as other elements we haven’t seen from them before. BMTH is really one of those bands leading the modern rock era.

But here some thought, how the chorus will be when you remove Su-Metal's voice? It's impossible. The chorus is the uplifting part of the song, and if Oli were to sing the "kingslayer" part, it'll never be as good as this.

I’m not a fan of the auto tune either but it’s apparently the style they like and it’s their song so whatever. Even if the song itself is very babymetal and Su does most of the heavy lifting vocally.
Though in general Horizon has been big fans of the girls going back five years now, he’ll horizon opened for them in Japan. So this collab was inevitable
