      It's a MUST that popular Japanese games get dubbing, I like that theres Japanese voice acting it makes it authentic but... I don't speak Japanese... and too often are the Japanese male voice actors sounding like women

      @FeyHunt  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Brian-ti7xm Haha, yeah. I like that we have diverse choices for voice acting, but I prefer to listen in English. English and Japanese just have different styles when it comes to voice acting.
      But the quality of English VA is... questionable at times. I think all gacha games should take Genshin's VA choice as the standard.

      i wouldn't say "as good as genshin", i would like to them be as good as reverse1999. i feel like every anime style game have "i speak anime" way to speak which is something i don't find in western game (they sound more natural in western game than eastern game). reverse1999 va mostly speak like they actually acting without being tied with "i speak anime" concept, they speak normal not like in monologue

      @FeyHunt  5 месяцев назад

      @@prohanta9360 That would be an interesting choice that will depend on the game vibe. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I got the frel that r1999 are about celebrating european sophistication. I don't think yelling in anime work well in that kind of game.
      Mugen is more of an easy-going vibe, so I think the classic yelling out attacks would fit well in this game.
      Maybe your taste will fit better for certain "serious" character. Dila is a good example to not yell out attacks, I think.

    • @prohanta9360
      @prohanta9360 5 месяцев назад

      @@FeyHunt it's not, r1999 still speak in all around globe languages (British, french, Spanish, German, Cantonese, japanese, american, etc) incl their original region accent, but they way they voicing the characters aren't like monologuing. In genshin or hsr, they kinda trying to replicate japanese VA due to "this is anime, so I speak anime", so they sound like narrating than having conversations.
      You can check game like Apex legends (fps game) and they talk like they're acting, like animated movie without having feel like they monologuing. For example you can check mirrage voice line, he's goofy and when he talks, he sounds like having conversations and actually being in a dialogue, not in monologue.
      This is just me for some reason I only find the "problem" in eastern game with English voiceover, but when it's western game, they just pretty much fine

    • @FeyHunt
      @FeyHunt  5 месяцев назад +6

      Well, to be fair I think it's way too early for them to report progress reports. Different game developers have different ways to publish their progress report. Kuro Games is one of the most forthcoming that I've seen so far for Wuthering Waves. But if we take a look at FromSoftware, we have almost no update until Elden Ring just about to come out aside from few beta tests.
      As a game developer myself, there is a point where you don't want to share further progress to keep the surprise to the players later when they actually play the game.
      That being said, I think what we're shown in the Mugen trailer is more like a "Vertical Slice" or an alpha footage, which is basically a "proof of concept". The actual game is far from completion.
      Of course, as a player, I wish they are going to be more forthcoming and transparent. I think Kuro Game approach will be much appreciated in the industry.

      Yes, I think we can expect around half Spiderman world size. As a game developer, I can say it may be around Genshin's budget if they want to put that much details into the game.

    There are few NE games that are fine so if this doesn't get abandoned it might actually survive but ofc the main problem here is the gacha system. This one is a gacha game unlike the other 1-2 games from them that I consider good. Only time will tell and tbh I've long lost the so called _hype_ for any of the newer games anyway. Idk if it's just me but nowadays no new game excites me maybe because at least 70% of the newer games are all GACHA (at least the ones I'm aware of, not like I know about every new game releases).

    • @FeyHunt
      @FeyHunt  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, I think there are some devs who are inherently good developers in there. One of the news I heard is that the former devs of Disco Elysium (indie game masterpiece) is making a studio under NetEase.
      Maybe they are changing their approach, if so we just have to wait and see.
      I am also quite disappointed about Wuthering Waves as I explained in my latest video here. I guess that "Genshin-killer" is a shifting goalpost after all.
      But if you want to look at single player indie games, I've been waiting so long for Hollow Knight Silksong. A neat metroidvania. Check it out!

    Im a bigtime nerd so.... if you are, read this long comment.
    So long as its custom characters only with a currency system similar to gta5 onlines as in its very easy to make money and fun but also selling in-game currency with LOTS of things to buy... im keeping my hopes way up. The game can evolve and improve massively with fan feedback just like gta5 online did, just like no mans sky did. Personally i think both of those games are lacking in gameplay but their improvements are undeniable and gta5 onlines "lived in open world massive multiplayer" concept completely changed online action based console gaming for the better even if i really dislike a lot about gta5 online it did do a lot of things well. Had a bunch of fun with it for awhile. Probably wouldnt have stopped playing it if they just gave it wheel and peddle support with realistic driving, traffic laws and gas use tbh. But i expect a LOT of improvements from gta6.
    Im hoping project mugen is basically anime action mmo, with lots to do and lots to customize/collect. "Anime gta online" one could say
    Maybe they give the world a tenkaichi open world mmo game, maybe they give the world a one piece × black flag mmo game, idk, but i see project mugen having HUGE potential. And they can add to it over time..
    Rumor is gta6 will eventually add liberty city as a dlc, and the official map leak for gta6 honestly looks kind of awesome.

      Net ease games COULD learn from the standard gta5 online set with their economy... or they could lack intelligence and completely ruin yet another game with preset characters and overly costly items with basically no way to earn fair amounts of in-game currency with basically nothing to buy or customize

      @@Cephalon_inviss Huh, so it seems they want to expand the IP, but they sort of change their mind and decided to develop other projects instead.
      Well, with the ex-developers of Disco Elysium going to NetEase as well, it might be pretty hard for Onmyouji fans to get what they want these days.

      Yeah, unless you got a beefy 500$+ phone, this game won't run well. That's the overpromising part that I don't like. Optimizing phone build for a seamless open world and destructible environment is NOT going to be easy.

      Of course. This video is more like a concern letter to the developers and to set up expectations for the players. Usually, the more the consumer get surprised, the angrier they become.
      This is not those silly doomposting for no reason. As I said in the video, I want them to succeed.

    I'm not really a fan of swapping character gameplay.

    • @FeyHunt

      Hmmm, can you elaborate why? I don't mind the idea of "solo party" combo, and apparently it's a mainstay for gacha games for the forseeable future.
      It forces players to have many characters, therefore pushes more of them to get more character from gacha.

      @@kouttakes That's a common industry standard, which is almost the same as preordering in steam.
      The purpose is to drum up hype for the consumer. For NetEase, the numbers of players preregistering can be used to boost their stock, with the promise that if Mugen succeed, their investment will pay up big time.

    • @FeyHunt
      @FeyHunt  3 месяца назад

      @@mybeaniebooz9601 I have some hope that NetEase will clean house soon.
      On indie game space, the developers of Disco Elysium had gotten a promising start with NetEase, after their studio got closed down. Maybe it could be the start for NetEase redemption arc, just like Nexon.
      NetEase also purchased Quantic Dream (Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, Fahrenheit, Detroit: Become Human) in 2022, so they are clearly trying to diversify their games into AAA and console space. But then again, they haven't actually published a game after the acquisition. So the result is yet to show up.
      Worst case scenario, this might be like Embracer Group gobbling up game companies only to lay them off.
