Wow. Wunnerful. I think Neil would approve. I wonder if Mr. Young ever played this moving, meaningful song as a pure instrumental. I think he might consider it if he sees how well this crew turned it out. Shoot, maybe do an entire album thus.
This is a great cover of this song. Man I got chills hearing these guys play those Telecasters. For anyone who is into Telecasters and wants to know what you can do with them watch this great performance. It is inspirational. Great performance!
I tell people I sold my Tele because "It just wasn't my sound. I'm a Strat guy". The truth is, I just wasn't good enough to handle a Tele. Couldn't make it sing like these guys.
i guess im randomly asking but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my login password. I love any tricks you can give me.
OMG...Down By The River without singing? Without the story? After all these years, I finally understand the meaning of the phrase "Guitar Masturbation".
Hope G.E. and the rest of the dudes on here got out with a headliner lately. These gigs with a $15 cover with 37 people in the audience don't pay the bills. It's a shame.
This is not a critique - just an observation. NY's original eventually gets a little funkier with the bass line and drums after the first or second solo break. I've seen many covers of this song and I've never seen or heard it done with the original bass line throughout.
Really like this cover despite being played on Telecasters No offence to this great guitar which has featured as the mainstay of many ace musicians past present and i,m sure future . Old Black still edges them especially on a track like this in my mind .Nice try though .
lordy, great players, but missed the essence of the song entirely, which is a couple of bars of single syncopated notes. One would think they'd notice.
When you're this good you don't need vocals!
Fabulous - what a talented band - sounds terrific 🙌🎸🎶🙌💖
Be on my side, I’ll be on your side. Pure guitar beauty. Such a great song to jam out on and get totally lost in.
Amazing performance and this group is fantastic! Great song!
Really sounds lovely, great balance and musicality 👍👍👍👍
A great interpretation of a great song. It`s on my jam list.
Love it. The spirit is right there between the notes!

Love it. Thank You for sharing Ladd
you're welcome ljswack!
Wow..these guys are incredible. Love the way they did this Neil Song

@@ursafan40 The Tele is a beast - Exuses no faults and you have to fight with every tone but i love it
You can play anything on a Telecaster.
@@maxpeck4154 Yes you can.
Please come to Tucson.
Love ya, G E!
G e rallying the rhythm section... what could go wrong ? Amazing playing by all of them

Wow...is that G.E.Smith from the SNL band? Haven't seen anything of him since the Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary concert 25 years ago!
sure is!
unctuous as ever...
but he sure can play...
GE Smith toured with Roger Waters of The Wall Tour a few years back
@@unclesmedley Always a big smile, that 's his trade mark... but he's the best, and always modest about it.

If you guys come to Japan, I’ll be sure to go and listen!
Great!! That's a great room/venue to play as well! I've performed there a couple of times.
Didn't know Neil Young was so good on the electric.
Fantastic! Thanks!
Just finished that self ass kickin' machine ten miles from home didn't know they were here.😢
Who are the other players besides GE Smith and Larry Campbell? No slouches!
All names are in the description section.
Larry, you are getting there
I think he's there...lol
Wonderful talent, could watch him play all night long.
G. E.'s solo was the most Neil-like.

Roy Buchanan ! Ilove His Music...
It's a Neil Young song, but Roy did an excellent cover.
Ha! You're joking, right? Roy did a great cover of Neil's song. This is great, too>
Kelly Guthrie yeah he may have got the composer wrong but Roy was the master of the tele.end of

I believe this was a sold out show.
No SHAME.... THEY WERE JUST.. RIGHT ... AND WITHOUT FAIL.!!!!
I’ll be onYour Side🎶🎶🎶🎶❤️
Great!
Some vocals would have added to this - even one verse/chorus, the contrast would have provided a musical setting for the solos :)
Not a guitar player................not a real one!
Go sing it to yourself in the mirror... DH
We get nothing like this in the UK.
Gold ..
Cool....
..nice of Smitty to alow those young men from the audience to jam with him like that. even though they were way out of his class!
What are you talking about?
Go have another beer Waldo

Go away troll
The singing and words give this song the spirit of the song, although the music was good it's just average to me without a voice
Wait - the bass player and the drummer are both not playing telecasters.
🤣
The Cmaj7 made the song.

Um well, yeah, but it just might be the fingers on "Old Black" :)

not much Larry can't handle with strings
Very true. Another who could play anything with strings is Doug Sahm. Everyone wanted to play with him.
Sound/video are subtly out of sync, so I had to close my eyes and simply listen. Then it was beautiful for me! 😊👍
