Navy Blues (1937). I downloaded the original from the Archive in very low resolution. I upscaled it to 4K and used AI facial enhancement to add more detail. I also denoised it and used the deinterlacing setting to remove as much grain and as many lines as possible. I left the frame rate as it was. I then colourised this upscaled version, which is available at 01:15:18.
At the beginning, I have included a seven-minute video to show the setup of the enhancement process. It includes side-by-side comparisons from the original to the colourised version. If you wish to skip this, you can start the black & white restored version at 00:07:35.
Thank you for watching.
"Navy shipmates Rusty, Biff, Chips, and Gateleg challenge Rusty to take dowdy librarian Doris to the Crow's Nest Cafe. Rusty impresses Doris by pretending to be an Annapolis candidate, but she later discovers the truth. Despite this, Doris believes Rusty when he claims to be in Naval Intelligence. Rusty unwittingly becomes involved in a spy plot when Doris' beau, Julian, who is a real spy, believes Rusty has cracked their secret code. After a series of misunderstandings and kidnappings, Rusty helps foil an assassination plot, is promoted, and wins Doris' love and her family's approval."

I download #classicmovies from The Archive and Wikipedia under public domain mark 1.0, each one I upscale, #restore and #colorize them.

Great restoration - crisp B&W film with great clarity as clean as when it was released. The contrast between the quality here and other channels is striking. Thanks for all of your work and the opportunity to see the film in like-new condition!
As always, thank you for your continued support, you are greatly appreciated :) Sorry if the uploads will be a little bit less over the next couple of weeks. I have friends staying and the kids summer holidays. I will be back full time from September and hopefully will have many more public domain movies to restore :)
@@SimonWard1 Enjoy your time off with your family and friends! I haven't watched all your other films yet but I'm working on it.
Thank you for sharing the process. Very informative. I'm completely ignorant of what's involved or how any of these types of enhancements are done. Makes me appreciate your dedication and effort that much more.
Thank you so much for watching. I will be including the process in every restoration I do, not only to show that I do work on each movie but also some people do find it interesting. Thank you :)
Remarkable! Thank you!
You are very welcome, thank you for watching :)
