Since in lockdown. I just got a switch lite. I wanted the full regular one, but they were seriously sold out EVERYWHERE online and stores. So im waiting for s-lite to ship to me. Cant wait.
@@mimicthelyric so I ended buying a switch lite for my daughter, also one for me too. It is nice. I enjoy playing on the switch lite. My daughter loves playing the switch lite. We have pokemon sword, sonic racing, DB fighterz, Spyro, crash bandicoot, super Mario deluxe. The games are nice no lag or anything bad. We purchased 2 cheap 20 pro controllers(which do the job just fine) and we got cheap joycons for 40bucks. I also got flip covers for both, and a grip case for me +screen protectors, 2 big carry cases. Now the multi player is VERY difficult on such a small screen. It's still playable though. Would I love to buy the regular switch instead of the lite? Hell yes, cause I'm trying to play it at home with a kid. Since I couldn't find any regular switch, I'm 80%happy playing the lite. Yes with the extras I got I could have purchased the regular one. But again its completely sold out for a while. If u can wait for the regular I would. Possibly a month or two. If your thinking about getting switch lite playing that until u get regular switch, if u want both-that's what I'll be doing. If you are just 1 person where playing on tv doesn't matter, then stay with only the switch lite. The switch lite is a really nice little portable that I'm mostly satisfied with. (Ps gamestop messed up my order with my 2switch lite. I ordered 1 grey and 1 turquoise, they sent me 2 turquoise. If I wanted to return it I would have been waiting over 3weeks for refund and/or exchange. So be cautious of gamestop ordering over internet since their closed in store.)
I have the refreshed switch. I love playing in docked but I play in handled more. I can’t decide if I want the lite. I want it because I feel like it would be easier to play in handheld but I also don’t want to loose the ability to dock

I used to have the switch classic version, but now that I am moving most of the time with backpack I gave my switch to my sister and bought the light version, and I really enjoy it I find it more comfortable regarding my lifestyle. They are all great; it just depends on how, when and where you gonna use it :)
I get why they didn't make the Switch Lite dockable. Not only to cut costs, but because making it dockable would result in a lot more people buying the Lite instead of the regular switch. If it was dockable, you could even play games that rely on the joy-cons.
I def plan on getting the switch lite as well as 4 games for it. It has everything I need atm in terms of portability, convenience ect. Being a USB-C port charging that's even better cause my phone(Galaxy S9) uses same charger so if need an extra charger if someone happens to the one that comes with Lite I'm covered. I dont have a TV so Lite missing that feature doesnt effect me so not worried about that lol. Great video and info
PC gamer here and I'm considering getting a switch for the games that aren't available for PC like Pokemon or Fire Emblem. I personally think that I would prefer playing it in handheld mode rather than docking it up to a tv. Would buying the lite be the right choice or should I just fork up the extra cash for the full Switch
I bought the the switch about 2 years ago and fell in love with it. I ended up selling it a year later due to losing my job and needing some quick cash. I just bought the switch lite today and I feel like I've regained part of my soul. It's so comfortable, light and feels just right. I was afraid the screen would be too small but after using it for a while I think it's perfect. I bought the Pokemon edition, looks amazing. Can't wait for Animal Crossing New Horizons 🤗
Yes I know why you're here - you're on a budget I used to be on budget and for the 100$ that you save this sounds not too bad But it is. Listen, even if you're on the go constantly the better choice will always be the classic switch the stuff that comes with it is more than comfortable to use in any situation, the longer battery life, the detachable joycons, the docking station that allows you to play on the TV, the joycon fix that turns your joycons into a gamepad, not to mention the bigger better screen. Taking it outside let me ask you - whats the difference of 3cm? It makes no difference, you would not want to carry this expensive console in your pocket because first even the switch lite is a big console and wont be comfortable so you would definitely want a case for that, second thing is Ive tried playing with detached joycons without the joycon fix and its one hell of a comfortable feature, put your tablet screen on a table and you're perfect. In the last case if you just want something to have fun with and not bother with alot of bullshit because you dont care then go for the lite, but as a universal gamer I went with the classic and it would've been a mistake to take the lite instead. PRO TIP FOR PARENTS: I dont think that this console is fit for a kid because children cannot appreciate the capabilities of this device, its just a toy for them and not the comfortable professional gaming machine that it really is so just visit AliExpress and buy them one of those gameplayers for around 30$ that run somewhat decent classic games and save yourself a fortune.
What I would say is, for an adult or teenager, go for the switch since you can dock it and it’s portable with a bigger screen. For a child maybe you want to get him/her into gaming go for the switch lite it’s quite child friendly.
One of the downsides to the original is that it's so big and hard to take anywhere. The other downside is that the dock is well known for destroying the screens when either putting it into the dock or removing it.
It is annoying because I want the smaller form factor of the Switch Lite, but not being able to video out is a deal breaker. If only they make a dockable lite even if they are slightly more expensive.
I was thinking about getting the switch lite but honestly the possibility of the joycons malfunctioning and having to turn in my entire system is what made me pick the regular switch. I know it’s possible the joycons on the regular switch can mess up but at least if it came down to it I could replace those easy! It comes in the mail on tomorrow :)))
both are great but I do prefer the normal switch because it's more customizable & you get way more for the money I'd rather spend a bit more to get all the features that the lite sadly lacks
how come at 2:12 the switch lite seems to have more prominent blacks and greens? is it due to the pixel density, or is it the angle in which the switches are placed?
Funfact the Switch lite is better than the OG switch. Only cuz it's battery is worse than the lite..but the new revision of the OG switch is the best way to experience the system yet. And I hate it that I have the OG switch with a very bad battery life tbh it's always draining even tho it's not even running a game and in Standby Mode.
MW technology I have a question about the Nintendo switch lite and the question is about the joy con drift on the nintendo switch lite does that happen a lot on that game system? I am trying to decide which game system to buy. Because i haven't played a nintendo game system since the original game boy you know the one that was grey with the maroon buttons so i wanted get back into the the gaming world but i was worried about joy con drift they have sometimes. i dont want to have fork over a fair amount of money every time the switch lite might have issue with the joy con issue. i was wanting to get a nintendo switch lite mostly because i didn't want to have to take over the tv me and my mom have by always having the regular switch always pluged in and since we only room for one tv in the house we live in. Would the Nintendo switch lite be a perfect fit for me since? i am not a big gamer but i want to get back into playing video games once in a while. but not all the the time.
If you get the joy-consto buy separately for the nintendo switch lite, can you be able to play multiplayer with another person right next to you? Edit: I don't have one yet, and I hope to buy one this year. So this is why I'm asking.
Arielle Hesse theres no point because joy cons cost like $65-$70 and the switch lite costs $200 so at this point your just paying for a regular switch which is normally around $280
Well by far the Switch is probably one of the best things Nintendo has ever done. Most of us have our priorities. Whether it’s PlayStation or Xbox or PC or Nintendo. Theirs a few reasons to get the Lite over the regular Switch. If your just looking to dive into some of the old NES games or get your hands on some of Nintendo’s line up. I would 110% get the Switch Lite over the switch if your more of that Xbox guy etc. It’s not expensive and they didn’t sacrifice anything in terms of performance. I bought mine for the $20 bucks a year and all the old NES games I played as a kid, that and Let’s Go Pikachu a remake of Pokémon Yellow. Took about 3 days before I was buying more switch games. Am I missing the TV. Not at the very least. This is just so easy to pick up and it’s a full powered system. Xbox does it’s 4K business on my Television the switch takes me back to the titles I loved as a kid with the couch in recliner mode and a 5.5 inch display in my face. The Switch Lite is defintely going to have a good place in the market. If the Switch Lite was a more of a gameboy or 2DS I wouldn’t be as thrilled. The fact it plays all of the titles you’d want to play makes it’s great buy. Motion control has always been an enhancement since the Wii. It’s kinda like the Kinect. It was fun it got old and that was the end of it. Super Mario party and like 4 other titles will not play or work that great on a Switch Lite. But the Switch Lite does have some Motion control and Nintendo has slowly learned that most people just want the basic controller and any motion enhancement is welcome but not required. Surprisingly shake and aim. Does work on a Switch lite it does have a basic accelerometer and most games are made for handheld mode anyways. On a side note I think the older games or lower resolution games really shine on the smaller screen. The switch was never a powerful device anyways. If you are all Nintendo and nothing else get the Switch. If you just want to play some exclusive titles or the older games get the Lite.
My only complaint: home screen wallpaper doesn't match console's color. Don't believe what the box shows. You're NOT getting a turquoise background when you turn your turquoise Switch Lite on. Oh well. Not the end of the world.
Conflicted on which to buy. I own a ps4, so i dont really need a dock (but i guess more options are better), but i love the look of the Switch v2, but the lite is cheaper (easier on the wallet) but i dont like the look 😅
To be brutally honest, I only purchased a Switch Lite because I've been hunting down the original during lockdown for weeks and growing frustrated with them being sold out nationwide or being sold for practically double on Ebay and Amazon. But now, I'm excited about because apparently it's really good. 😁
If you want to make a video on a test for others There are off brand switch docks of many shapes and sizes Connecting USB Type C to HDMI pretty easily and could definitely fit a switch lite

So you’d still get rumble when using external joycons on the lite??
sanstimbre does tilt work like on MARIO kart lmao
Not on the actual Switch Lite, but with external joycons yes
Switch lite ftw amazing device big enough screen to enjoy gaming small enough to carry in a pocket
I purchased both, I got back into playing nintendo again, legend of zelda breath of the wild, links awakening, mario kart, hyrule warriors, smash Bros and so on, especially being able to play Witcher 3 and dark souls remastered on the go, prices are all still high but I don't mind paying 40 50 or 60 for all the great games
You can't tell me the lite isn't an advanced version of the PSP lol
a way better

Both of the options of good, but I have three other siblings,so the Nintendo switch would work better for everyone, more as a family console. Where the lite is definitely more solo playing, or online playing! But both are good for different uses!
Yep I'm an only child so the Nintendo lite would be good for me
I sold my nintendo switch and got a switch lite and never looked back. I don't miss any of the previous features at all. I play alone and always in handheld. Its lighter for my hands and does exactly what I need for cheaper. No drift so far after about 4 months. I bought a 3 year warranty just in case. Very happy with my purchase!
hi! so how's ur lite now? does it drift already? or still fine?
@@josephineoto2641 no drifting it's still in great shape
@@Prfctpersistent omgg didn't expect u'll respond well u see I'm planning to surprise my lil bro a lite for his 11thbday, do u think should be worry about the drift thing? n will it be good version for a little boy kid? thanks much! hope u still respond!
@@josephineoto2641 I think you should go for it. Worst case scenario you do eventually get drift but you can send the console in to be fixed. To be more at peace get the Nintendo Switch online to back up the game saves -- it works on almost all games. That Way you won't have as much worry. But yeah, I'm a year in and again, no problems for me. It's also smaller and cheaper. Easier to carry around and hold for a kid.
@@Prfctpersistent thanks for being so kind to my ques., guess ur reply convince me so I'll go for the lite for my lil bro u'r a great help! hav a great day!!
The stuff you said about the d pad is backwards. The plus shape dpad is better for fighting games and more people in general prefer that
Since in lockdown. I just got a switch lite. I wanted the full regular one, but they were seriously sold out EVERYWHERE online and stores. So im waiting for s-lite to ship to me. Cant wait.
Was it good? I was saving money for switch but the lite version came out. Now I have enough money for both so what should I get? I want ur opinion ofc
The best comparision i have found on youtube, thank you !
I have both systems. One for my son, and the lite version for myself. Love both of them. Highly recommended.

Marco V I laughed so hard
I have the refreshed switch. I love playing in docked but I play in handled more. I can’t decide if I want the lite. I want it because I feel like it would be easier to play in handheld but I also don’t want to loose the ability to dock
you should probably get a grip
Kermigga I brought both 🥳🥳
THE POET thank you and yes. Love it
Also 2:51 the switch lite DOESNT come with blue tooth. You'll need an adapter for that

well first of all do you play mostly in handheld?
I mostly play ps4, but I have been playing mobile games a lot when I’m on the road during work or business trips
Cause it ain't right if you don't get lite.😊🤣
Best thing I like about the lite is that it feels sturdier and doesn’t need a grip for it
😋
Yeah agree
so sturdy that one guy's lite melted on a regular heater/radiator whatever you english guys call it
SoulflY 99 why would someone be dumb enough to put a game system on a heater? that’s not the company’s fault, that’s pure idiocy
@@muffinmeower sometimes things doesn't happen on purpose?! can't tell me that you never had your accidents in life that made you look like a total idiot... fact is that It's easily toasted and that's a flaw! also think about kids (the main target of this console) I'm pretty sure it's not too rare that things like this happen with them tho most of them don't think that far and when mom calls for dinner they throw it on the heater and it already happened🤷♂️

Best comparision I've seen. Ty
Defo want the switch!
I just like the *switching* aspect of it.
I play street fighter and mortal combat on my switch. I have to say it's easier to input some commands on the pro controller/lite than the joy con.
Yes I know why you're here - you're on a budget
I used to be on budget and for the 100$ that you save this sounds not too bad
But it is.
Listen, even if you're on the go constantly the better choice will always be the classic switch
the stuff that comes with it is more than comfortable to use in any situation, the longer battery life, the detachable
joycons, the docking station that allows you to play on the TV, the joycon fix that turns your joycons into a gamepad, not to mention the bigger better screen.
It seems like joy con drift is more prevalent on the OG Switch then the New Switch and Switch Lite.
Or buy a Nintendo 2ds
what game were u playing around 1:22?? looks dope
today everything i wear is gray too xD
I will buy the Switch Lite, for me its a better Choice overall, thank you for the Video
3:27 respect for the olympic bar calluses
I feel like putting a switch in your pocket would cause drift
What I would say is, for an adult or teenager, go for the switch since you can dock it and it’s portable with a bigger screen.
For a child maybe you want to get him/her into gaming go for the switch lite it’s quite child friendly.
One of the downsides to the original is that it's so big and hard to take anywhere. The other downside is that the dock is well known for destroying the screens when either putting it into the dock or removing it.
Im getting a switch lite but I'm gonna get it late becasue of quarantine
Me too lol
Same just ordered will have to wait ages
Ordered mine on amazon came within a week
I got mines during quarantine
I'm getting mine in 3 days
I’m so happy I’m getting mine in 2 days that’s why I’m trying to watch these reviews before I actually lay my hands on them but I can’t wait 😁
Great comparation thanks
It is annoying because I want the smaller form factor of the Switch Lite, but not being able to video out is a deal breaker. If only they make a dockable lite even if they are slightly more expensive.
I was thinking about getting the switch lite but honestly the possibility of the joycons malfunctioning and having to turn in my entire system is what made me pick the regular switch. I know it’s possible the joycons on the regular switch can mess up but at least if it came down to it I could replace those easy! It comes in the mail on tomorrow :)))
I never had that issue with either Switch. I'm pretty gentle with the controls, though.
Have both! But the switch lite is my favorite. I use it more and it's more portable on the go. I leave my regular switch at home
Where would be a good place to buy a switch from? Who has the best deals?
@iiMxdnight Breeze Thanks ! But there are no gamestops in Australia😁
eBay
@iiMxdnight Breeze okay thanks
@SuperMario Logan Thanks.
Just get it new from Best Buy or someplace like that, I wouldn’t recommend buying new from eBay for the same price
both are great but I do prefer the normal switch because it's more customizable & you get way more for the money I'd rather spend a bit more to get all the features that the lite sadly lacks
I've been loving my Nintendo switch lite so much better for me, since I dont care about doc mode more portable I love it.
Enjoy your drift😉
how come at 2:12 the switch lite seems to have more prominent blacks and greens? is it due to the pixel density, or is it the angle in which the switches are placed?
Funfact the Switch lite is better than the OG switch. Only cuz it's battery is worse than the lite..but the new revision of the OG switch is the best way to experience the system yet. And I hate it that I have the OG switch with a very bad battery life tbh it's always draining even tho it's not even running a game and in Standby Mode.
I just got mine a few days ago a few games 128sd card. It's not bad so far good review
I love how my your outfit matches the switches color

I have a question about the Nintendo switch lite and the question is about the joy con drift on the nintendo switch lite does that happen a lot on that game system?
Is that an Nintendo lite in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?!.

Well mabey if your dumbass looked it up you would know
If you get the joy-consto buy separately for the nintendo switch lite, can you be able to play multiplayer with another person right next to you?
Edit: I don't have one yet, and I hope to buy one this year. So this is why I'm asking.
Arielle Hesse theres no point because joy cons cost like $65-$70 and the switch lite costs $200 so at this point your just paying for a regular switch which is normally around $280
My problem with the switch is just how expensive the games are for the acceptable graphics that you get. Games should cost at the most $30 not $60.

Oh well. Not the end of the world.
yes beings how you won't SEE your home screen wen your going to be to busy PLAYING a game.........
Conflicted on which to buy. I own a ps4, so i dont really need a dock (but i guess more options are better), but i love the look of the Switch v2, but the lite is cheaper (easier on the wallet) but i dont like the look 😅
This video actually help so much! Can't thank you enough! Definitely getting the lite :))

I really want the og switch, but i got the lite one because were on a budget.. but still atleast i have one
I think they are both great in their own way. Glad they were both made.
The definition of switch is to switch between docked and handheld. But the price of the lite is good for the games that are availible for it.

To be brutally honest, I only purchased a Switch Lite because I've been hunting down the original during lockdown for weeks and growing frustrated with them being sold out nationwide or being sold for practically double on Ebay and Amazon. But now, I'm excited about because apparently it's really good. 😁
It's worth it huh? I am very happy to have my original Nintendo Switch (not Lite model) since June of 2018. Welcome to the Nintendo Switch family
You also forgot to mention, the Switch Lite lacks HD Rumble, but both have Amiibo support.
What I worry about with a switch lite is joy con drift sense you cannot change them out
Literally everybody tried to put the Nintendo Switch Lite in the DOCK! I don't know why but that kinda TRIGGERS ME!!!
If you want to make a video on a test for others
There are off brand switch docks of many shapes and sizes
Connecting USB Type C to HDMI pretty easily and could definitely fit a switch lite

Val's Review lol same
This vid helped me decide on the animal crossing lite, thanks !
Who on earth prefers the Switch's 4 separate buttons to a dpad? I've never heard that
I prefer the 4 buttons because it serves as a separate controller (both joycons being able to be used individually)
If Nintendo never thought of that idea, the left joycon would probably have a regular D pad
Thanks man i really needed this informative review
I'm getting my Nintendo switch lite on Thanksgiving
Never mind my dad said before Christmas
Update: took me a while but I now have a normal switch because I thought it was better and I can actually play with friends
U should have get Orginal Switch
@@leeallenbeal shut up man, let him decide.
The reason why I got a Lite is because I already have a PS4 so if I really want to play on a tv I can play my PS4. So now when I got to Florida and Canada I can use the lite in the plane/car ride which is amazing.
Family is everything so I need the normal switch
Respectable!
Furthermore, some games are fully compatible with the lite version. Others lack certain features and others aren't compatible at all. This is why I consider lite a bad choice.
Moreover, joycon drift is still a thing so you have to send the whole console to service. With the original switch, you can just change joycons.
