@@DutchGuyMike I personally think Alien 3 was pretty awesome and a fitting end. It thematically aligned with the first two quite well, that of human perseverance and will to survive in the face of unspeakable horrors.
What I loved about part 3 is that it had the same horror elements to part 1, being stuck without weapons inside a place or structure with a monster that walks on ceilings and bleeds Acid if you injure it!
Aliens 3 was a good sequel, the problem is that it came after Aliens, which was much more action oriented and had a bigger scope. Compared to original Alien, it's a very decent movie.
When people complain about Alien 3 they overlook Charles Dutton"s performance. An amazing actor! A very powerful scene. The question is how you check out 💀. Do you want it on your feet? Or on your F'ING KNEES... BEGGING?!
I understand why most people hate Alien 3 the cinema release since there were a lot of scenes cut from it. However Alien 3 the director's version is far more in depth and is one of my top favorite movies!
The actor that plays Dillion actually murdered a person in real life. I think he even went to prison for a while, but got out and straightened his life out I guess.
The stakes were really high in this one! Getting screwed from every direction possible. Straight up you're gonna die guaranteed no matter what you do IS peak intensity!!! 😭😑
God's truths often surface in stories, reminding us of life's ephemeral nature and the eternal battle between good and evil. Dillon's speech in "Aliens 3" offers a profound reflection on these themes, mirroring biblical passages. His acceptance of mortality and the unpredictability of death ("You're all gonna die, the only question is when") aligns with James 4:14, emphasizing life's fleetingness. Urging us towards spiritual awakening ("This is as good a place as any to take your first steps to heaven") echoes Hebrews 3:15's call to faith. Dillon's defiance against succumbing to fear and despair, choosing instead to stand firm, resonates with Joshua 1:9's encouragement for courage and faith over worldly influences. Finally, his battle cry against evil ("I ain't much for begging!... Let's fight it!") parallels Ephesians 6:11-12, advocating for spiritual armor against darkness. These parallels underscore the narrative's deeper spiritual resonance, inviting reflection on our choices, faith, and the triumph of good over evil. To show you the beggars they will leave replies to my comment that says I'm wrong or mocking in their nature. The one who stands on their own feet in the replies represent those of us, like Dillion who fight and stand against the world's ego and the darkness. Choice is yours and this isn't the only movie that resonates this biblical teaching. For all those wondering the Bible teaches this stuff but most were taught it was just some ancient guys trying to figure out the world and had it all wrong. That is the deception and the lie fed to us but they are wrong. the Bible is the truth. The choice is yours, it has always been your choice and one you must walk alone.
First watch this back in 90s I was 10 I think and obsessed with predator 1987 but this was my favourite I know aliens way top notch n this got low ratings but to me it's best one in the franchise tbh Dark scary atmosphere and how alien takes them out one by one and how they failed the first trap for it then Ripley funds out she's got one inside her and near end they decide to fight it and go on these suicide runs then ending Ripley chosen her fate, I shed a tear Amazing movie 10 for me
This scene would be a little better if it included a few mins prior. Before Dillon's speech, all the guys are in panic mode and completely not up to the task of taking on the Alien. But after Dillons speech, the tone completely changes. Very few movie scenes do it like this one.
So underrated, i loved this movie,if this movie didn't receive so much backlash i feel like this scene would've been iconic and referenced or just more popular, such a powerful and underrated speech, and Dillion is such a underrated character + underrated Performance from Charles Dutton
Yeah, while I love the added line about "taking their first steps to heaven", the whole "only question" thing could've easily been resolved by changing the line to be, "It's just a matter of 'when'".
Great movie. I don't know why everyone is complaining about Alien 3. Alien 3 is part of the Alien series with its own style. Alien 1 is horror. Alien 2 is war. Alien 3 is a terror thriller with elements of horror and action and in my opinion is a wonderfully crafted worthy member of the franchise. Yes, X dies. Yes, Rebecca dies. Which is a major reason why audiences don't like Alien 3. I believe. But in the end, Alien is the important element. So is Ripley. So I believe everything is okay.
How would Xeno win a fight against so many humans? In Alien 1, humans didn't know what they were dealing with, so they died. But here, everyone is informed on what Xeno is (and what it's capable of). And they're all armed (although only melee weapons), ready to go.
Because it's hard to surprise Xeno. Even when you know he's around, he's always one step ahead. If it were older or if its host were a human, it would be even more challenging to eliminate. Fortunately, its host was a dog, making it incredibly fast BUT much less intelligent.
@@Humalien91 It still doesn't change the fact that Xeno is alone, and it's powers and speed isn't enough to overpower a literal mob, all armed and ready to go.
@@guzgonzalez6982 Yeah, but only against unblooded wristblade-only Pred, in a very plain sight. And only if the Xeno gets the drop on the Pred. Humans (plural) would have no problem taking down the unblooded Pred under the same condition, assuming the humans are like these guys (at least a dozen humans, all hard criminals, all armed with some sort of melee weapon).
I used to play this speech in my head at every hockey game I played as a kid. Hyped me up something fierce.

Always loved that it was Morse, the pessimist throughout the film, that is the first to support Dillion’s plan of taking the thing.

My problem is that he says “the only question is... “ twice.... therefore it’s not the the only question
Because it’s the extended cut with both versions combined, the theatrical version only has the part about taking it on your knees or feet.
