Small goof on the price of the kitchen gadget: Lucy tells Ricky it cost $7.98, which he repeats in dismay, but moments later Lucy says it cost $7.95. A few pennies off. Either way, an item that cost $8 in 1952 would be $92 in today’s economy.
Huh, I got a little bit Lower amount of $81. Either way that’s crazy! I remember seeing a Lucy episode where Lucy was talking about a very high class penthouse in New York and it costing $11,000. You could never get a cheap car for that today. A New York penthouse would likely cost millions today.
This item was based on the actual Veg-O-Matic, which was advertised for years on TV: “It slices! It dices! And all without the aid of attachments!” These commercials were running up to about 1970; I remember them.
Imagine being Lucy today with the power of Amazon and online shopping at her fingertips. How funny that she would be today. In color too. RIP Lucille Ball. You paved quite the way for TV. There never can be another Lucy.❤
I love Lucy and Honey moon ; all in the family ; Family ties ; Mama family ; too close comfort and Everyone love Raymond where great comedy show. they not make like that any more.
I'm looking for the episode where Lucy bought a dress and changed the price tag on it to a higher price. When Ricky saw the price he screamed, but Lucy said no, it was wrong, it was a lower price and Ricky was relieved. I have used that tactic many, many times throughout my life, in many situations. Does anyone know where I can find that episode?
It's funny, yes, but this reeks of how a woman in the '50s had to subordinate herself because it's the man who brings in the money. She had no freedom to make financial decisions unlike today when more women have joined the workforce.
Who can ever forget Ricky Ricardo calling Lucy: 1:50 the tone and volume are indelible reminders of this classic TV series.
Watching Lucy never gets old or boring. She is the BEST!!!!!

All these years later, having seen all of them countless times, I still laugh.

Interception by Ricky “Tom Brady” Ricardo. On a side note, didnt Lucy know that eventually Ricky was going to see it?
Never thought that Fred was married to Ethel.
Well, this subject is actual as it was in the 50s. Even worse. We spend like no tomorrow.
I desperately need a shopping spree oib haven't been able to ahop in years,
