Your ship is being repaired by service crew, as you have 10 service crew members. You can test this by removing the drones and see the hull is still slowly repaired. Then add the drones and remove all the crew excepting the pilot and the ship won't get repaired.
But how do you get them? were do you get them? and how do you replenish them? id say you should maybe include this info on the redo of this video that would be helpfull. :)
Thank you for taking the time. However for me as a new player, you are pretty well stating the obvious. What I would like to see and have not seen anyone else do, is how to set up drone carriers in a fleet. How effective are they? I have seen NCP drone carriers flying around. Which ships are best?
Not sure if you got the answer to that question 6 months later, but to be sure: They're bought in Wharfs, Shipyards or Equipment docks in the Consumables section. The ship must have capacity to store the drones (in the ship stats card, it's the "Units" value near the bottom of the list)
Is there any way to help the drones stay alive? Both drones and ships set to defend seem to go straight into danger and die. I think some repair drones were lost when I left the area and they didn't keep up.
You either buy new ones at a wharf or supply station, or if you have a station yourself, the station manufactures them if you set requirements in the logical overview

Where and how to get cargo drones?
kind of light on the info, was hoping to find out how many build drones I should make, how many repair drones are useful on a station, etc..
