Opinion: Dexterity is not useful for this build. You can use heavy armor to get good AC without DEX. You have ranged cantrips and magic missile if you want ranged damage (which is usually outperformed by melee anyways). And sure, DEX gives you initiative, but if you're below 16 DEX it's highly unlikely that you'll go first in any battle. I felt no difference in initiative between 10 and 12 dex, so 14 probably isn't that much better. I would instead use those 4 points in DEX to pump CHA and WIS to 10 so you don't get annoying penalties in RP situations and WIS saves against powerful control spells like Hold Person.
The reason to put points into Dex is to get a better Initiative roll. I'd counter that argument pre-emptively by saying Alert takes care of this with the bonus of making you immune to being Surprised, and the points you'd otherwise put into Dex can instead go into Int making up for the lost ASI.
I've heard if you go 11 Fighter/1 Wizard, while y ou don't get your wizard subclass or a 4th feat, you do get access to 3rd level spells as well as your 3rd attack. Curious on your thoughts on that.
Forgot where I got it, but Titan String bow adds your strength modifier to your attack. You can also get a ring from a fight early in Act 2 that gives both blur and invisibility as actions.

This is interesting! I was thinking of doing a Battle Master Fighter / Wizard build and get Haste at level 10. But you make a good case for the Elderich Knight + Wizard.
For the end-game build why go with and ASI on Intelligence at level 12 while keeping a 14 Dexterity instead of taking the Alert feat and re-speccing to dump Dexterity and put those points into Intelligence instead? You'll end up with a higher Intelligence, better Initiative roll and be immune to Surprise, and since you're wearing heavy armour and not using a bow you won't miss the points in Dexterity.
I’ve been doing this for a while! I went 8Fighter/2Wiz(Abj)/2Pal and it’s made her a pretty phenomenal tank! Can’t quite get Arcane Ward to get very high though, so still trying to figure out why I can’t get that much use out of it…
It scales with your wizard level unfortunately, so you’d probably have to go pure wizard or mostly wizard. Divination is good tho, you get to change two rolls per long rest and doesn’t require you dumping levels in wizard.
Well, I personally prefer abjuration wizard for my fighter wizard multi class since it's tankier and the shield spell is abjuration anyways, but I was going for 6 fighter battlemaster to 6 abjuration wizard because I like having some short rest resources.
Athletics and Acrobatics do not stack to provide extra push resistance. The check uses the better of the two. I would still go Acrobatics if you are playing a Dex fighter but otherwise Perception is probably better.
Oh man I don't know, that chromatic orb & burning hands & thunder wave all look too good to pass up, too bad you can't use them for the previous slot cause I would take this instead of the other spells I took on the previous pick screen
My laezel doesn't have blur or misty step options at level 7. So I just picked acid arrow and darkness (for whenever wyll can't cast). Maybe the option for the two best spells will appear next level, or something, maybe I'll have to respec too, idk

You are a pro at this but is seems here you needed a rest ore a vacation cus at lvl 7 you said blurr wich is not available and misty step wich is given as a racial at lvl 6, I ended up choosing what the video was showing and no what you where saying😅
The amount of times Lae'zel's name was mispronounced in this video is astounding haha. It's not just that her name was mispronounced, but the amount of times her name was said...and mispronounced every single time... Thank you for the build and the amusement.
Make her a druid for the fire scimitar spell that's what I did I wanted her to do more fire shit but as a barb can only do her rage with the soul coins
@MrBlackachu oh dang I havnt gotten to needing soul coins. Wholly crap, does every character need to consume something to function? Gale is annoying as sh1t going through equipment. I had to dump him at camp and buy things for him everytime I stop at the store. I'm assuming astarion has to stop to feed on someone or something
@@356zThere are no characters that need to consume something to function lol. Gale will only need to consume 3-4 magical items as part of his quest, but there are plenty of trash tier items you can find to give him. Karlach doesn’t need soul coins to function either, they just give her a buff

Having high INT (meaning wearing the Warped Headband) has the same effect as low INT with Arcane Acuity

You get that amazing bow from the folks in the caves under Waukeen's Rest. Their name starts with a Z.

I personally use the gloves that set dex to 18, allows me to boost int and con strength. Works well

Why not just go Fighter 5/Wizard 7? You don't need to go Eldritch Fighter subclass and your getting way better Wizard spells and more slots?
