Mansur is playin' a 2000 Era Epiphone Sheraton 2. It's a Chinese made guitar... Through a Roland Jazz Chorus with a Pog + Delay/Verb I presume (wich gives him that specific tone), some Herbie/Headhunters licks by the end of the track by the way (u should have heard it before Mr Blue Shirt on the right side of the screen^^) He's definitely one of the greatest player of his generation !
I'm obsessed with Mansur's guitar tone in this recording. No idea how to describe it but I love it. also, re: sound quality, this is Abbey Road studio after all
I loved your reaction to this. The rapt attention of both of you showed you were aware you were listening to something special. Another track that effect upon me when I heard it for the first time was Nils Petter Molvaer - Solid Ether (Live in Hamburg in 2001) - ruclips.net/video/E2GQbt_OL-Y/видео.html .
I would like to know whether one person sits down and composes alone or whether everyone contributes their own ideas and the song completes itself by magic have found to create a vision.
its both ! some people like Kevin from tame impala or Chaz from Toro y Moi are like one man bands and use other musicians for touring and collaboration
Wow. I had the same reaction listening this song for the first time. And I had the same point of view of you in many times, but I totally disagree about just one thing: I could (and I do) easily hear this a lot of times! Actually, I was doing this yesterday hahahaha!... Each time I hear it, I notice something different. But maybe It's because I love prog rock, so this kind of compostion is pretty familiar to me. And I feel the name of this song is perfect, too. Love is something very crazy, isn't it? Something that surprises you whit good and not so good things, with ups and downs, but something that really keeps you in and carry you on in the space! And something unexpected too... In fact, this song is telling a lot. Thanks for your video! It was really fun! Aaaaaahhhhh: the bass and drums are the things I loved most!
A wonderful performance! I would love to hear your reaction to another of any of their pieces. Also, have you ever reacted to Mahavishnu Orchestra? Visions of The Emerald Beyond is an iconic album. Thank you for covering musicians' musicians. - old musician from Seattle
I couldn't imagine how proud Pino is seeing Rocco grooving as hard as him.
I had the same reaction when I first heard this. This track is sick!

Watching in 2024 to your great reactions of one of my favorite songs. Sad to see you haven’t continued to review music in quite a while! 😢
That guitar solo is ridiculous.

Wow.
I don't know if Yussef is the best, but he's definitely my favorite drummer.
Still waiting on some DJ Beck drumming covered in this reaction series. The Nord sessions he and DOMi did are great.

You guys should listen to some Live in L.A John Mayer stuff. Possibly JM Trio, that's John Mayer/Pino Paladino/Steve Jordan
Perhaps I don't Need No Doctor from Nokia Theater, got some great solos...

Never heard of that. But thanks for the recommendation - we will check it out!

Love the intros 😂
Mansur is using a sock tied around the 1st fret of his guitar to mute his open strings, not a tissue.

The song is too much, the musicians are fantastic, no words. Terrible !! , que decimos en España .
