Ken goes Cruising is a channel dedicated to sharing our experience of cruising. We have enjoyed 48 cruises since 1995. As well as sharing some factual and helpful information the idea behind this channel is to share our joy of cruising. My long suffering wife Lindsey is a very important part of our team. Since our retirement we had planned several bucket list cruises and so far we have only completed one of them. We have now started international cruising again and hope you will join us on our travels.

We spent a total of 33 days on the Oceania Riviera earlier this year. We had a fabulous time. The food was spectacular, and the updated cabins and suites were absolutely beautiful. Our only regret was not taking advantage of afternoon tea. The staff remembered our names by the third day, and the overall service was the best we've ever experienced on a ship.

Thank you for the tour. The ship really does look lovely. Love the decoration and furnishings - looks stylish but also comfortable. Btw what was the temperature like inside - did it vary from venue to venue, and what is it like on ships generally?
Hi Lesley I found the temperature absolutely fine on board. Temperature is a bit of a contentious issue on cruise ships as everyone has their own comfort settings. The only problem I usually have on a cruise ship is on formal nights when I am feeling rather hot in my DJ but at the same time Lindsey can feel cold sometimes in an evening gown. The only time I have ever felt cold was on QM2 we were in port overnight and it was below zero temperatures outside in the area surrounding the grand lobby it was cold some of the staff were even wearing overcoats serving in the coffee shop. Great video! Comprehensive tour, relaxed narration, and slow, steady hand while filming. Looks much like the Marina, except their theater seat upholstery is really tired! I hate that they don’t have a door on that smoking area. And I didn’t even know Waves Grill had breakfast and pizza in the evenings! May just be a summer thing. I was on Marina TA in April, so may have not been open them.

It really depends on what your itinerary preferences are. If you are flying into Europe then pick the time of year and your favourite itinerary that suits your budget.
Cruise fare includes all food and beverages or do we need to pay extra?
It includes all food including speciality dining. You get a beverage package that includes wines, champagne and other drinks at meal times. There is an upgrade to a premium drinks package that is sometimes on offer as part of a package. There are two happy hours on most days that last for about 3 hours a day when drinks are 2 for one. There is also a contribution towards shore excursions the value depends on the length of the cruise. Our next cruise is 14 days and we receive a $1000 contribution to shore excursions. I hope this helps
