    This is excellent.
    I am a parent of 2 children under 4 and work with them at home.
    I have an education and 10ys experience in early years.
    One of them go to preschool the other will go to preschool soon.
    I have been looking for videos like this.
    Can you please do a video on how the eyfs is delivered to parents.
    Would be very helpful to me.
    X

    I am autistic, don't think I have mastered all the EYFS and I am nearly 40. A little girl stole the blue playdough I was using to make a blueberry pie at Play school... Still annoyed about that! Seriously though, a great video. Very clear and helpful.

    Very good I have written everything down and hopefully it will help for my interview because EYFS is one of my biggest problems in interviews even though I have a degree for it. Do you have anything for safeguarding or know any other ones??? That is my BIGGEST problem in all interviews. Thanks :)

      I am glad I am not the only one! I have a degree as well Early Childhood Studies but in all my interviews they say I don't understand the EYFS so I will definitely write all of this down and try to practice for next week another interview. I haven't given up just yet but I want to.

      @@abimason2546 I have worked in Education and Child Protection over the past 23 years. I have 2 degrees (BSc & Masters) and currently doing a third (stressful!). I am very qualified, experienced, and I maintain what I commented. 😄

      @@sos1474 I regret my degree so much. I did Early Childhood Studies but I didn't realise it was mainly management and I definitely do not want to be a manager; someone did ask me a few months ago but I said no because I wouldn't know what I am doing. In all my interviews they ask me if I know EYFS but I don't know what I am doing wrong; this is great and I am writing it all down and hopefully it will help me for my next interview this coming Monday but it seems to be my weakness. Do you know a good video about safeguarding? That is my biggest problem!! But even though I did level 6 I never had the opportunity to have level 3 and that's what they mainly want :'(

    Hello :) I love your videos I find them so helpful with my 3 year old who is going to school next year. I know it's not your job but I'm having real anxiety as I said my son is due to start school next year but we just cannot crack potty training. I have honestly tried everything and am at my wit's end although of course I will carry on trying but I was just wondering what you thought About this and if he isn't potty trained by school should I delay his start? I'd really appreciate your help xxxxx

      Hi Charlotte, thank you for your lovely comment. It is very important that children can use the toilet independently by the time they go to Reception for a few reasons - one being that this is something he will notice other children can do and might become embarrassed, and two being that unfortunately schools do not have the resources to have children who are in nappies. That being said, all children develop at different rates. You still have an entire year so don't stress. If he's not getting it now, take a break and then go back to it. If you keep trying when he's not ready he will find it all too stressful. You can contact your local children's centre and they should have some advice about different methods to try. It is also important to discover why he isn't responding to potty training. Is this a sensory need? Some children find comfort in nappies and don't like the feeling of something 'falling out' of them (sounds strange but it's true). It may also be useful to visit your doctor to rule out anything like an infection that might be causing distress when using the toilet. Good luck and let me know how you get on!

      @LittleLearnersVideos  6 лет назад +1

      In the case of delaying his start - like I said, you have a lot of time. So continue applying to school as you normally would and a little nearer the time speak to the school if you're still concerned. Is he at nursery? X

      @@LittleLearnersVideos thank you so much for your reply. I realised I should have probably added a bit of background once I had posted! He has coeliac disease so is under the hospital for this and we have spoken to the health visitor who said to contact her next year if he still isn't showing progress. I think it could be a sensory thing as he almost has a panic attack when the potty is mentioned. He also has epilepsy although is nearly one year seizure free so I am wondering if that could have anything to do with it. It's a confusing time but I am confident in him and believe he can do it. I am just very aware it is not the teachers job to change him but am trying to put a plan in place in my head for the next year and his school journey. It is frustrating because in all other aspects he is so ready for school and has no learning difficulties other than this. Really appreciate your advice more than you know! xxxxx

    • @LittleLearnersVideos
      @LittleLearnersVideos  6 лет назад +2

      I'm so sorry to hear that. In that case I would recommend speaking to the hospital about an Educational Health Care Plan. This can give the school extra money to provide extra support for a child with an illness. Of course you'll want to still try to get him toilet trained but if EHCPs do take a lot of time to get sorted to it might be worth speaking to a doctor about it now to get some advice. Hope that helps! 😊
