I got the CL. It'll wipe the verse with the C1, for sure. The only thing I'm NOT liking is the color...but when it comes out, you can bet they'll have some better paints for it.
I think the war bond version comes with an extra skin
The Concierge paint looks really good on it.
Always had a thing for vivid color schemes, but the black and yellow caution striping isn't great. Eager for paints earnable in game.
I'm genuinely curious what makes you say that? The C1 has some really neat manoeuvering and insane boost speed. Making it a great runner and not a pushover in a fight. I'm also interested in the CL but there are speculations that it will be slower and not that manuverable like the C1, also you loose some firepower afaik in the Zeus, versus the C1 having four guns at hand for the pilot.
This is not a competitor to the C1 Spirit - this is a competitor to the Freelancer Max.
The competitor to the C1 Spirit is the Cutlass Black.
I bought the Zeus ES and I have a MSR already. These are multiplayer ships but I doubt you won't be able to play single player. The problem is with SC is that everyone wants to fly a ship because they all also own a ship. Capital ships will need to be multiplayer but not these ships. Most likely we will play with AI in a squadron of friends. The Spirit is nice but the space is wasted with those wings. If you buy the Zeus, you get the spirit loaner. By the time the Zeus comes out, you will be sick of the Spirit so it is a good temp ship.
Spirit follows crusaders design language I like it, it’s just weak
I think the MR is a little "too much" and the ES, which is supposed to have "enhanced weaponry" and shielding is left only with a fourth shield. The ES version should have the second turret. the MR has already an EMP as weapon.
I remember when the Corsair was gonna release with 2 Size 2 shields lol and they switched it to a Size 3. Now this ship is gonna release with 3 size 2 shields and one variant has 4 size 2 shields. That’s insane, balancing has come so far it actually feels like the newer ships will always be better than the older ships.
They have to do that keep it fresh and to take your money

@@HappyHungrySleepy23 S3 has 4 shield faces instead of just two compared to the S2 iirc. S2 shields currently have 7500 hp and S3 shields has 100 000 hp. Even if you divide among 4 faces it is still over 3 times more shield per face than a single S2 shield. From Size 2-3 you’re looking at 10X the shield HP typically. Essentially you have one shield per face. So the HP doesn’t get halved when it’s divided into two faces per shield. So no it’s not similar, though you could probably optimize 4 shields for regen rate.

I'm excited for the MR. The armory in particular is something that could be interesting. It's intended to be used as a bounty hunter ship but it has a lot of pirate vibes too.

I bought the ES and the Warbond MR. About to be a flying nacho for the rest of my foreseeable future . Hope they drop them soon. A1 and C1 keeps me satisifed but after looking at the Zeus. I'm absolutely in love
i would expect them to be out around this time next year
I love your level headed approach man! I traded out a connie and a titan for a Zeus CL and a Cutty Red. The A1 loaner flies sweet but I think I'll like the Zeus better.
The downside of the A1 is it is made of glass very weak

I picked up CCU's for all 3. I plan on keeping the CL, and maybe the MR. ES is on the chopping block for sure. The mysterious ST is the most interesting to me. EDIT: I was able to find a concierge to get me the Solstice paint. Looks amazing in black.
I agree with the spirit. I usually can do the 890 Jump mission, take out the attack craft and then board the 890. I can do this in both a freelancer and an MSR. I have tried 3 times with the A1 and in each occasion, I was easily destroyed. The Spirit is just too weak.
Yeah the A1 is pretty soft, but fun to look at I guess
@@marcuswynn89 It's a lovely looking ship, I do like the Crusader Style. It needs 3 things which can easily be fixed, a second shield, more speed and increase the capacitors. No major overhauls, nice and simple.
The ships speed/flight model will determine their succes.
If they fly like pigs, it won't matter what the stats are on paper.
i doubt they will fly like pigs, but we will see
I almost bought the MR the other night but... waiting till they implement the new shields and repair physics. also, currently not enough weapons but do like the QD and emp. The blue is better in my opinion. Am glad to see the ship looks so much better than the original concept design.
I was thinking the same thing. It's tempting but cutty blue still seems better on paper. I hope modularity gives you an option to run the cutty blue without the prisoner hold. I'd exclusively fly the blue if I could fit a cyclone in the back.

Maybe you can use one the remote turrets as well, I wanna see what the capacitor looks like first though
I hated these when they first announced them, but they've grown on me. I will probably pick up CCUs for each. I could see the Clipper being a good daily driver. I prefer more pilot controlled weapons, but the survivability looks to be much better than the Cutty

I was a big fan of the Zeus in the lore. And said if that ever came out I would snap that right up. The universe has a way of really pulling the rug out from under me as I’m currently committed to not buying ships at the moment as I’m saving up to get a Quest 3 in the new years sale. But come on. It’s right there. And it has an Exploration version too. Right in the spirit of the original Zeus.
But in the end I had to have it. Even if it was as a CCU. So I melted a fury that I didn’t really want and a Titan game pack that I won in a competition (from a vid about the Zeus ironically) and upgraded my C8r LTI to the Zeus Exploration

They are 3 person ships to compete with the larger medium/ small large ships such as the MSR, Freelancer Max, and the 400i. The cutty/spirit/freelancer are a step down. Thanks

Hey bro, great insight, I melted my c1 as a result since the zeus cargo is essentially same role, but sleeker, prettier and with a much better cockpit (the main thing that matters :) ). By the by, can I ask what's the ship viewer that you used here?

The cumbersome size of the Connie has turned me away for the longest time, but the FOV on its bridge is incredible. Can't wait to see that design on a smaller vessel. I traded up my Cutlass Black to the CL. Still weighing whether I shouldn't exchange the CL for the ES instead, though.
Any thoughts on when the Zeus will be flight ready?

There is so much missing... size of the reactor, armor, missiles, speed, thrusters/maneuverability. The ship looks nice and has stats that are super strong, but much information is missing, as usual.
This is a usual thing I think, maybe they want us to speculate
I bought the explorer version because it has 4 medium shields where the C1 only have 1.

I got the MR, used to run Corsair and Connie Andromeda, but I love the looks on this one. Hope it's fast and handles well.

Went ahead and upgraded from a MAX to the Zeus Clipper - seems like an excellent daily driver for traders and there hasn't been a whisper regarding the Hull B in addition to looking much better than the MAX.
I've seen a lot of posts on the forums saying the Clipper is OP because it's the same size as the C1 Spirit but the Freelancer MAX is *slightly* SMALLER than the Spirit and still carries 4x the cargo capacity of it. The Spirit is just...not a very good design - those massive wings take up the majority of it's dimensions. In my mind, it would be better if they gave the C1 additional armor and shielding and made it into a military transport. As is right now, it's just not competitive even with ships released years before it (Freelancer base and Freelancer MAX). Just hoping the outcry dosn't result in a slashing of the Clippers cargo capacity...

They are roughly the same in length that’s why I made the comparison
They're very similar in size which is why I think so many are making the 1 to 1 comparison
But the crusader ships are all about that maneuverability so the wings and engine take up a lot of real-estate.
I'd like to see the C1 really shine with the handling.
Where as these ships will probably feel a little heavier
And cost more to run
I like this ship but I'm new to the game and I currently use the Cutter scout. I like the cargo time missions so far so would this be a good long term investment for someone like me.

This thing will have 22k Quantum fuel (exploration variant) , while the connie Aquila has like 3k? Also better radar.

I have all 3 variants now I do think the CL should be 2 persons seeing a Merchant is going for the bottom-line and it has no additional stations like an extra turret or a scanner station, The MR variant might be the biggest bounty hunting we have in game going with a pretty long range fuel capacity and having a bigger ship with more crew doesn't make any sense for a bounty hunting ship but this MR variant it should have at least some sort of medical bed seeing Bounty hunting is very dangerous and even the bounty itself could be severely wounded.
If it has a med bed it would be op for sure
I really want the ES but I just hope the scanning gameplay is as cool as it seems it could be

Much later when your able to build ships, if you have schematics for crusader then your gonna prob use the c1 etc.

It's hard to compare ships that are not even out yet, and they said that it is possible that the ship models can change. So, it's not all that we know, we have to see when both the C1 and Mk II comes out. Then we get mad when it changes.

I don't thing the C-1 is able to compete with the CL the ES yes since the C-1 will have a 48 SCU capacity. The CL looks to be in competition with the Taurus, MSR and Freelancer Max.

I'm not a fan of Crusader ships.
In fact, aside from aesthetics, most of the Crusader lineup are quite unimpressive, primarilly due to nonsensical design.
If they removed the silly parts, like seat rails and unnecessarilly spaced corridors, there would be more room for functional spaces and parts.
As for the Zeus, it looks pretty good, and the functionality seems to be there, so I've grabbed a CCU for my Cutty Blue.
Once it arrives in game I'll give the Zeus a try-out and if it's on point I'll probably apply the upgrade.
I did have the 400i once, but they nerfed it and it ended up flying like a turd.
Shame because everything else about it was great.
Hopefully this one has a respectable degree of flexibility/maneuverability.

I don’t think those are “introduction to crew” ships. They’re small crew but if the crew is not experienced it they won’t do much. Edit: the MR will indeed hopefully have enough speed to fulfill its role, but we have no idea what that will look like because of master modes. This line of concept ships looks amazing to me. I got an MR and ES. I’m not racist. I like the white one too. Totally agree about second entrance. Also I think it has a third: there appears to be an eva/docking collar there as well. With the MR, that design almost reminds me of the Corsair internals with that armory. Very sexy concepts and I can hardly wait!

@@marcuswynn89 agreed. TBH I think even the MR isn’t well armed enough. 2 size 4s and a few missiles is not enough unless these ships turn out to be seriously nimble. The top turret will help though, that’s for sure. I feel that it would have been perfect if it were 3 size 4 slots for the pilot. Still, they look like fun ships, I just wonder what kind of a fight the ES can put up with only a bottom turret that can’t add firepower to the main guns. CL and Es will be very vulnerable to smaller fighters as they’ll be out maneuvered and to the big boys as they’ll be outgunned. I hope they’re as agile as they are sleek. Nice review, btw!
I pledged an MR, but i do hope they rethink the lokot controlled guns, i don't think 2 S4s can cut it. If anything id suggest 2 S2s in tandem
