- We visited the Motorhome show in Birmingham, UK this year when we spotted this VW Crafter Camper by a conversion company called VanWorx. It was by far our favourite campervan of the show, here's our tour.

Hi, love your Van's!! Can you please tell me what colour and what sort of wood you have used for the kitchen worktop in the van in this video please? Thanks in advance
You all probably dont give a shit but does someone know of a method to log back into an instagram account??
I stupidly forgot the account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Zayden Luciano Instablaster =)
@Anderson Finnegan I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Anderson Finnegan it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much you really help me out !
Can’t see £100,000 in it tho ....am I alone on this 🙏🏼
Yeah thats what I thought. Its nice, but not £100k nice.
They lost me on the snorkel. Your breather is on the top of the engine at about 4 foot high and if you are in water that high you have already ruined this thing and no way it could push through that even if you were not worried about the thousands of dollars worth of stuff you just ruined. To me something like that shows they are about looking like something they are not.
30k
No way 100k, when he said we made our own ladder i was like......really......i could make one of those at work with some spare tube and the welder and get it powdercoated for 30 quid.
I converted my moggy 1000 drove through France down to Spain even went off road...cost of van 100 quid cost of conversion 30 quid. Had a great time....some people have just got to much money.
For an RV that big, i thought this would have a fixed bathroom & toilet
I thought also that there is a bathroom, but dangg not worth 100k...you can make it by yourself cheaper....
@@dannygonsalez27 Agreed, needs the pot.
It's not that big tho
"british lights, best in the business" made in china, assembled in germany, installed in poland
Sounds about right.
😠
Inside a £100,000 Campervan. Is there £50,000 in the glovebox ?
I was thinking the same thing wot a joke £100,000
For that you'd at least expect the John to be ligit.
@@TheSoundzUK Exactly! You see the detail that everyone passes over. Now add up the cost for the toilet, sink, material, and man hours, etc you see the bill adding up. 🙄
@@zianeshkasparen4358 theres no toilet
@@Drymarro not everyone find that having a toilet is that important or big of a deal. Poop bucket, heated sSowering bag, small flushing porta potty. And there are lots more I am seeing everywhere.
Do you have a full off road spec sheet with measurements/ clearances, quantities of water and diesel, details of upgraded shocks, heights of breathers and where, etc? Thanks.
"Off grid" no shower and no toilet, ok then.
Haha exactly wtf
08:11
And a wooden countertop ,not beetje hygienic . Re frigarator tucked away no door against insect no tv no room
Do you sell those panels? You mentioned the panel extension for up to 6'3". I like the look and curious if you sell and ship to the U. S.? Also what make and models do you do this for if any? Thanks again awesome van.
Is this the standard Vollkswagen 4-Motion Suspension just with offroad wheels and BFGoodrich tires or is it something special?
no toilet, no shower, 100K, are you kidding?
the outside is just amazingly beautiful, inside just a complete lack of taste
Loved the original 70’s cloth patter.... there is a reason that was left behind, like my granny’s old carpet in a £100k camper van. Looks fantastic from outside as you say
The salesman himself is not excited about this camper. He knows its a joke hhhh
Some great ideas and workmanship in this conversions. Do you sell the side flares separately?
this is really one of the nicest vans i've seen i just miss a shower
Grandma would be proud of the interior
BARF ON THE PLAID! THE COLORS ARE ATROCIOUS!
Some design choices are cool, and the seat trim looks great, but I'd go with the Grand California over this for many reasons. Maybe they're even available with 4M?
100k are you honestly having a laugh! Pisstakers 😂😂
Fresh- Tommy B it is sexy tho
And were are you from ?
Looks cheap for what you get to be fair
True...tbh 100kEuros is too much for the options ...on the other hand USD appropriate
@@Muggles87 YES... The exterior looks great, but inside is "mediocre "
Nice check seats... and painted plywood fittings... cheap !!!
Hi, what is the brand/manufacturer of the kitchen sink? Thanks!
Not a fan of vans, but I'd love to have that, looks awesome!
One of my favs, hands down...
Huh, thought this looked familiar, I had a quick peek at this one when it was parked up at vanworx last week.
I have 6-2” sleeping clearance on my 2020 Sprinter passenger van after subtracting 1/2” each side for insulation foam with no flares or pods.
Induction hobs? I like that, but surely not efficient for an off grid setup?
Wow. Dream van! In love with the yellow plaid. Didn't see that coming! added this to my adventure vehicle playlist.
Absolutely brilliant!
I wish you show us the roll over bed. So we can see how it's look like
it may not be as fancy but our little 80's toyota van 4x4 does pretty well! haha we are currently building it to be a nice little camper. this thing is sweet though!
Plywood table, plywood drawer... is this a professional build?! I can do that at home! Cheap wood for 100k?! COME ON GUYS!
I was thinking the same thing when looking at the likes of Kompanja and Egoe. On the other hand, what *can't* you do at home when talking about cabinet making? It is inherently simple.
No shower and built in toilet either for 100k
I'd expect fine mahogany for that price, cheeky bastards
You lot don’t know what you are talking about 😂 plywood is absolutely the best choice for this job. So many furniture makers in here
Really really nice exterior.
Nice to have seen the cockpit 😉
Hello Vanworx,
I am a wheelchair user & i am looking at the offroad crafter (grey one with the equipment) Heres the thing, is there or could there be a crafter designed for my needs. I have looked but dont see any for the wheel chair user/driver. Are there any plans for such users to your knowledge. Please advise.
Thank You Gus.
Can you build them custom to specifications? Interesting concept.
Security doesn’t seem to feature, particularly with static ladder to the roof and lack of removable window bars.
what are those batteries powering everything? 2 induction hobs wow! and what wattage is the solar
Clayton leisure batteries I think...if they’re 200ah battery that would get you about 25mins induction cooking before you flatten the battery out right inc fridge?
Wouldn't it have made more sense to have a gas hob?
These Delta Wheels are not beadlock - only beadlock look.
In case of damaging the outer wheel ring you can change it very cheap.
These are good wheels. I drive them on my VW T5 California.
Poor designer cramped and not impressive compared to what's on the market especialy for the money 👎
I get there’s more mwb 4x4 sprinter/crafters than 4x4 lwb ones but i can’t help but think a lwb would be suited better for space. Even a 2wd lwb and stick a motorbike in the garage area for exploring
2:05 Heater exhaust under the sliding dore? so all the fumes come in?
nothing like carbon monoxide poisoning eh?
Very nice project but:
1.Ledder in a back can scratch chassi when you will open the door to the end position
2. This fridge in a front was tested by 20G test?
3. Bed space is so dark. Why you didn't order a car with rear windows?
How dust proof is this vehicle? Something a lot of us in Oz are interested in.
It probably doesn't matter how dustproof it is because bulldust will get in.... eventually.
I know, but at least you can delay the inevitable and stand some chance of keeping the main area’s cleaner before you sneeze yourself to death...ha ha ha
so expensive and with no washroom
LOL, look at Australian RVs like this. None of them have a washroom and sell for this much!
EXACTLY. Smh. Next
It's nice, I think the wheel option is good. But Celtic Motorhome got a wet room in theirs, and it looks a little higher spec with the internals.
Well done Dave! An exciting new vehicle for the offroad lifestyle, i love the crafter. Can see how much you have all put into it. Great to see something different at the show. 👍🏻👍🏻
Are those tyres any good on snow?
OMG ! We just seen this van in Northampton today and it looks unreal!
Even if probably I can't afford it... just looking at is a pleasure.
100 grand no no no . Seen a lot better for a lot less
What is the standing height inside the van? The normal mid top appears to be have just enough height from vw specs. But I read somewhere the 4x4 has 100mm less, is that true? What does it leave you with?
You are correct. Our videographer is 5,11 and was fine inside. Anything above 6ft and you might be touching the roof.
Nice, I'm 5'11. Did you get any insulation on the floor? The roof looks like it has lots of space to get insulation behind reinforcement bars without losing any height.
The floor has been raised slightly. About 6ft will be fine. You can get the high high top which makes the roof taller
The floor is 100mm over normal height to allow for rear diff etc
No shower room? Wooden cupboards reminds me of coated plywood. I bet it's a very nice drive tho.
Isn’t the Seikal snorkel the wrong way round. Doesn’t it have to point to the rear for warranty?
For what is it?
Sissi Lemarr reduces the dust and rubbish in the air intake. Also helps protect against water
Yes snorkel is to face backwards
How much is the lift and what size are the tyres ... 👍👍👍👍
For that price I'd want a seat colour that isn't an eye sore and some innovative functions, didn't see either of that
You can't say something is an eyesore and then say you didn't see it.
I’d love to see a version of these conversions that are more affordable for the average Joe. I think conversion companies might be missing a huge opportunity by ignoring that niche.
Yeah we understand. But profit margins are low on smaller, affordable conversions which makes it hard to run a business on. BUT there are some out there for sure. 😊
Build your own is the way to go
I hope we get to see the inside soon.
Sheila Whitfield did you not watch the video?
Offroad? There is no ground clearance?
My crafter is on order. I’ve been speaking to Outside Van but they don’t export their service. So good to see a UK company doing a good job. Might be speaking to them :)
Drop them an email, they're great people!
Check Mclaren Sporthomes out as well, I love mine
I work for Vanworx. Happy to give you emails/ numbers if you wanna know more let me know!
Charlie Andrews. Hi Charlie, do van worx sell any products. It’s hard to find certain things. (Side rails, seat swivels etc)
Thanks
UrbanARK overland it’s more of a conversion place. We can point in the right direction tho! Best to give us an email! info@vanworx.co.uk
I love your videos and I love motorhomes😊😊😊😊😊😀😅
hey mate. What is the model of your watch? :)
in my country kenya that spare tire wont survive a day itl be thaged in a few seconds
Is there even a vw crafter in that country where they could use that wheel?;)
@ichew gum no!
Come e' possibile montare gli pneumatici bfgoodrich che non hanno la c per il carico??
In un camper intendo!
100k is a joke 🤣
Keep in mind the cloth is genuine westfalia. hehe
Such a WELL PRESENTED walkthrough, so what would be wading depth before it starts to float ? Hope that never happens though 👻👻
VERY NICE!!!
Does it have rear mozzy net?
Ohh VW Vanlife, whats not to like, we want one (after our sailboat life is done)
That bang you heard was my jaw hitting the floor 😱😱😱😍😍😍
Bravo!
It's a really beautiful ripoff.
Rogue Panda the normal price is 70k do your research when you start crying
@@mcwaff8661 The RRP on a VW Crafter 4Motion is £40k, not £70k, so go cry yourself. £60k for a conversion is a rip off.
I bought a house for less than that with land big enough to build another house on it, and still have front and rear gardens, drive and a garage / shed
why would you put electrical plates in a Expedition van?
Do you have access to electicity outdoors? Common...
Solar power...
what does this VW crafter campervan weight?
Why dont they make these wider than they do ??
any chance this will be selling in Canada / USA?
Alex Wong zero chances because that Diesel engine won’t be able to be registered in NA, , ITS not a CLEAN DIESEL, CHEERS FROM NJ,,USA🇨🇦🇺🇸
Have you seen the American counter parts at this price range.
There's a few hundred quid worth of speakers I suppose.
Looks great, but i think they should have made the join between the two layers of chipboard above the media and temp etc more flush to fit perfectly - the difference is very visible and jars and suggests attention to detail is possibly not great.
Let’s just take a moment to laugh at anybody paying £100k for that.
Bed is less than 1 meter wide!?
Very underwhelming. Nice exterior mind.
no shower....
I love the introducer’s last name
Nice VW Camper van.
When the weather is bad for a couple of days I would start to hate some choices made in this van. No real space to use the toilet except in the middle of the van.. is there privacy without closing off all the windows? No way to wash yourself or a good spot to hang wet clothes to dry.
The van seems more like a show what they can do, but not a practical one in reality.
Maybe it is because of regulations, but I will never buy a van without 2 armrests on the front seats (I have back problems).
spinnekopje thanks for the feedback. Coming from 11 years of building VW Transporters we are now offering a larger variant to this customer and trying to fit as much in as possible. The bed, the lounge type feel and the garage are the real selling points here but MWB 2 berth and LWB 4 berth both come with fixed shower cubicle and chemical loo
All good points.
spinnekopje if you have back problems why consider buying a 4x4 camper? If you draw the line at armrests I don’t think the off grid lifestyle is for you
Very beautiful but what about the loo?
They look amazing.....!!!! Will this ship to Canada (Toronto), or only for Europe market?
Only Europe for now!
@Nomadvanz on your doorstep though 👍🏼
I see it’s not a long wheelbase, hence no shower and toilet. Would be better to use a larger van.
My Mclaren VW Crafter has a shower, toilet and a large garage at the rear.
Possibly, European roads are a struggle for very large vans, and the price would be considerably more. But yes, would be great to see a LWB camper!
I own a VW Crafter extra long wheelbase, super high roof, McLaren Sport home in the UK.
Absolutely love it 😊
LWB going to build later this year. Also offering a 2 berth with shower and toilet cubicle on the MWB 🤘🏼
Where can I purchase a van conversion???
Underbody protection. Is this X rated?
Living in the UK this would be pointless for me, to justify the off road capability I would deliberately have to plan my route out of my way to find a section of off road to get to my destination.
I grew up in the African bush and old landrovers were the staple and even then we only really ever used the full 4x4 capability during the rainy season when the dirt roads turn to mud baths.
This camper is a great demonstration in 'look what we can do' and good luck to the guys that build them. If someone can afford it and want it, then why not.
so you wouldn't do green lanes?
@@scottmcginn2169 I think you missed the point, you would have to deliberately drive out of your way to find a green lane to drive on, just plain daft...
@@IronMountainx i think the vast majority of off road vehicles are bought for that purpose though, the off road, off the grid holiday, or the 21st century yuppy who wants to live off grid.
In the case of South Africa and Australia, any serious offroad requirements are met by a Mitsubishi, and if you are buying anything else you are nuts.
How much interior costs?
I paid extra to get rear doors that swing open more than 180° on my sprinter and you charge extra to remove that function
What is that "snorkel" for? What does it do? Never seen that on a van. Is it a European thing?
It is usually mounted on 4X4 to cross rivers and not get water in the air intake
Nice, however much prefer the luxury of a Mclaren Sport home and have change from £100,000
Gr8 lookin van externally.. I would prefer it as just a sleeper setup.. no cabinets, fixed cooker and other bells and whistles.. creates more space inside.. I have done this to my 2003 VW LT46.. full queen bed at rear with lots space up front.
Vans like this are, to me, a giant target for being stolen, or stolen from. I saw a guy where i live in italy, with a mwb crafter... low roof... with the seikel lift and some all terrains. With no windows in it, no huge roof racks and/or wheel carriers it looked like a normal albeit lifted van. Inside was all carpet lined, insulated, the thing was sooo tidy. He said considering mx bikes, big slobbering mastiffs and various other filthy things go in it, whats the point in a major set-up, you're just going to attract attention from people who want to take your shit from you.
Rollin' Dodo can you purchase your own WHEEL LOCK ?, I have seen people in the uk that do just that,, Cheers , from NJ..USA🇮🇹🇺🇸
@@flybyairplane3528 how do you mean wheel lock? As in steering wheel or??? To be honest, nobody steals from my vehicles as i have a big ass guard dog that goes everywhere with me. Others aren't so well equipped. Having a really sweet build is amazing obviously, but it's an advert for how much money you have, and people don"t like it, so they take it..
Rollin' Dodo like those locks they put on your car where it is illegally parked, you pay first before you can drive, well this is yourOWN, to put on a caravan, so nobody can take it while you are away.
Cheers FROM NJ..USA🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸
@@flybyairplane3528 Oh, i know what you mean lol. Yeah i think they sell them. To be honest, people are more likely to break into it to see what they can steal out of it than the actual vehicle itself.
to the people commenting its not worth half its value, your delusional, a standard conversion is 15k on top of the almost 5k worth of off-road gear and the 4wd base van which is knocking on 50k itself, a bog standard crafter camper conversions sell for upwards of 80k anyway
I have a 4Motion VW California. And when I needed the four wheel drive. It wasn't there. I had wait, in the dark, in the cold on the Yorkshire moors for a kind farmer to tow me of wet and muddy grass.
all 4wd versions of vans are a joke. its better to get proper outlander
Too young to be old and I bet you also, just had the tyres which came with it too.I know some of VWs , that have 4 motion ALSO HAVE LOCKING DIFFERENTIALS , SELECTED BY THE DRIVER, maybe yours did not, There YT folks there whom I follow, & at times they assemble on some farmers property for the week end,,if it’s wet, several of them get stuck, so they help each other
Cheers FROM,,NJ...USA🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸

Beautiful... I am in love ❤
Where’s the 100k worth?... There’s plenty of Van life video out on RUclips that have done incredible conversion with everything you need for travelling and living in for less than 30k.
Not saying they’ve done a bad job just very basic and overpriced.
Agreed, If it had a shower and a couple of other features maybe 100k, interior look horrible
You got played fool the 30k weren’t including the cost of the van. The exterior upgrades they did is pretty a show n glow or extreme off roading. It’s has a very basic interior wise which where living in a van or indeed Van life comes to life. It’s seriously lacking compared to a lot of conversions done and showed on RUclips.
Hi! Could you drive that on a car license? Is it 3.5 tonnes or less?
as far as we know it is on a standard license, the main reason we say that is that its marketed to the mass public and not to someone who needs to have special licences.
@@VanClan ok thanks. There must be a lot of lightweight stuff in it as many vans of that design are quite heavy!
Like RP Motorhomes conversions. Prices crazy though, 100k+
Lovely touches. 100k and still have to p in a bucket 😤
hahaha i was thinking the same
Same price for a 2 berth with a fitted shower room. Trying to offer a couple of layouts and options to cater for different needs.
UrbanARK overland there IS A TOILET, but there different layout to please all customers, Cheers From NJ..USA🇺🇸

this is way better than those US 4x4 Rv van...
good luck with sales, for 100k ,I would by off road bus:)
why the snorkel??
