    What a great route Tony. Easily one of the most scenic areas in the Lakes. Great tip on the water. Keep up the great work 😀👍

      Hi Craig, Thanks mate, it is a belter of a route and I was so glad to get around it in autumn conditions 😄.
      We got through all the water which was well needed, although Allison was questioning me at the services as to why I’d bought so much 😂.
      Enjoy it out there ⛰️😁🥾

    Hi Tony and Allison. What a super walk and valley that is, very dramatic along the ridge. I did it with my 2 daughters a couple of years ago the opposite way round to you. It seemed like forever to get from Pillar summit back to the pub but a fabulous trek. The highlight was definately Steeple. I wasnt expecting such fabulous little summit, loved it! A tough one regarding my favourite mountain but Id have to say Blencathra because of all the different routes up to it. Great video again I always thoroughly enjoy seeing your drone footage. I look forward to the 2nd installment. ATB

      Hi Tony, Yes, there is a long walk at the end no matter which way around you go but well worth it either way.
      I’m glad you got to do it and that all 3 of you fitted on the top of Steeple😂.
      Blencathra is excellent and so easy to get to. I’m hoping to show some alternative routes up soon.
      Thanks mate, I appreciate the support, all the best out there 🥾😁⛰️

    Hi Allison, Hi Tony.
    Love the mountains around Mosedale. I’m glad I did it the other way round, I said to myself when I was going up Pillar from Wind Gap I wouldn’t like to come down that way🤣
    I didn’t do Yewbarrow when I did it so still need to bag that. In terms of my favourite mountain, well you are not too far from it. Everything about Steeple is epic. The look of it, the views from it, and the fun little walk to its tiny summit. And I had it all to myself too. I hope you did too, as there’s not much room for many peeps! 🤣
    All the best guys
    Dave 😀🥾⛰

      @@DAoutdoors Hi Dave, it was a steep down to Wind Gap for sure 😅. As we started late I wasn’t sure about the light and actually ended up coming down Yewbarrow as the sun set 🌙. Making it to the pub just before dark.
      Yewbarrow is a tough add in but the views over Wast Water are amazing 🤩.
      You are in good company mate as Steeple makes wainwright’s top 6 summits ⛰️. Tiny but perfect. Enjoy it out there mate 🥾😁⛰️

    Another great video. You asked about a route to the top of Scafell Pike. Aside of the tourist path, I've walked from Great End via Broad Crag. Loved the boulder field but had great views from the coll between Broad Crag and Scafell Pike as we descended 👍

    Brilliant video and commentary, felt like I was there too. Did Pillar from Ennerdale and Steeple so know what's coming. Hard to say what the best fell is. Great Cable, Helm Crag, Blencathra, but they are all good. Regards, Ashley

      @trekkingwithtony  3 месяца назад +1

      Thanks Ashley, I did see a video climbing Pillar from the Ennerdale side and that looks like quite the ascent😅. Great Gable is a cracker and like Pillar commands attention. Helm Crag is a wonderful relaxed walk and family friendly. Blencathra is the Swiss Army Knife of fells. Many ways up and as testing or easy as you want it to be. An excellent selection my friend⛰⛰⛰. Enjoy it out there mate⛰😀👢

    I'll be doing some of this walk on Christmas day, just Pillar and Red Pike, mainly because of daylight constraints.
    For the best fell, it's pointless looking much further than Harter Fell (Eskdale) or Bowfell.

    • @trekkingwithtony
      @trekkingwithtony  26 дней назад

      Harter Fell is a discerning choice 👌. Most fell walkers haven’t been there and it is so good 😊.
      I love Bowfell, one I do frequent from different approaches and I hope to do it again soon.
      Enjoy it out there mate 🥾😁⛰️

    We did Scafell Pike in sideways hailstone on a blustery day in november no vistas but we did have it to ourselves 😂, another time with mates we did it in deep snow, and the descent down Lingmell was the best descent ever so much fun in the deep drifts, as for favourite mountain mine is Catstycam, in my early days of hiking and on Striding Edge I was just thinking whats that mountain there 😂 if it did not have Helvellyn on its left shoulder it would be the finest mountain peak, planning to do the north west steep ridge next time I go up it 🥾🥾⛰️⛰️💙💙

    • @trekkingwithtony
      @trekkingwithtony  3 месяца назад +1

      That sounds like a lot of fun off Lingmell, sounds like it would have been great with a sledge 🛷.
      Catstycam is an often missed opportunity by Helvellyn day trippers. A lovely summit on its own with a true mountain shape ⛰️. A discerning choice indeed 👌
      Enjoy it out there mate 🥾😁⛰️

      Hi Andrew, I’ve put it in the description for you mate. Those ones can pair for a private channel and are also a torch 🔦. Definitely worth having as you can’t rely on a phone signal in the lakes. Plenty of options though, best to be safe. Enjoy it out there mate 🥾😁⛰️

    Would you say it's tougher than coledale Tony?

    • @trekkingwithtony
      @trekkingwithtony  15 дней назад

      Hi mate, I would say this is easier than Coledale. A lot of people skip Yewbarrow at the end but I definitely think it’s worth doing it. If you download my route is will show you the gentle path up it if you don’t fancy the climb. Enjoy it out there mate ⛰️😁🥾
