  • How to make Japanese rice gratin "Doria". good for vegetarian main dish.
    Doria looks like not Japanese food, but it was born at a hotel in Yokohama Japan. the original recipe was seafood doria, and I tried to make vegetarian version.
    this dish is popular for young people in Japan. I also ate a lot when I was young.
    use leftover cold rice, long grain rice is also fine. you don't need warm the rice up.
    I used onion, mashroom, sweet corn. you can use other vegetable your choice, like diced cit carrot, green pears.
    I tried to make light bechamel/white sauce to seep into the rice. if you use ready made bechamel sauce, add more milk or water and make it lighter.
    it is good for cold winter day.

      Doria is just butter or tomato rice and bechamel sauce 😄. Make bechamel not too thick. Good luck.
