      ​​​@@Kittyintherain57 oh, yes. about the rice. we Japanese in Japan love short grain Japonica rice. the rice has stickinss and easy to shape Onigiri. this is the difference between long grain rice and short grain rice. if you find Sushi rice, it means short grain rice. some people outside of Japan can't get short grain rice easily because Long grain rice accounts for 70% of the world's total rice production. I have been thinking that I can not make Onigiri with long grain rice. but I have found a way to make it. if you want to maki Onigiri with long grain rice, please refer the video below. ruclips.net/video/i3q6qgYRtMw/видео.html To cut Nori seaweed , just cut into the shape your desire using scissors I hope this will help you.

    Many years ago, I traveled to Japan and bought a pack of local miso from Takayama, but because I didn’t know how to cook it, it was wasted😅 After that, I only bought convenient small packs in supermarkets to make soup. Now they also produce various powdered soup dumplings with different flavors. They taste very good and I always have them at home😋

      @@elizabethbacher Hello, Thank you for your comment. For regular curry, this soup is too weak and not thick enough. To make Japanese curry, use curry roux and follow the instraction of the backage please 😄

      @heebonghyun5066 hello, Thanks for watching and your comment. Yes, if you use fish Dashi powder, it is not vegan. I used Kombu seaweed Dashi for this video, so soup itself is vegan. But I used chicken, so this dish is not vegetarian or vegan.

      We also eat a kind of fried batter! 😮 They are called "oil balls" (oliebollen in Dutch), the batter is made with wheat flour and yeast and deep fried in blobs the size of a lemon/orange - they don't have a lot of flavor but we sprinkle powdered sugar on them for sweetness and some people put raisins in the batter 😊 Very heavy to eat though, I think yours is nicer to eat maybe 😊

No good Japanese food here. I have to make it myself. This year for xmas me and my husband made tamales which is a Mexican tradition at the holiday season, I'm half Mexican. But for NYE I made homemade toshikoshi soba. And it might surprise you that I make mochi from sweet glutinous rice in my Kitchenaid. It's delicous and amazing. Takes a long time though. You should try it. :)

      Hi, how are you? Thanks for your comment. I just used 1 block of roux and it was enough for me. but for some people it might be better using 1 and half. Try and warm up.

      Yes we can even get it in most supermarkets in the Netherlands! For the frozen ones we have to go to a special Asian grocery store though 😊

      Thank you for your comment. why you should'nt boil the Miso?. Miso fiavour will be most strong at 90℃。so it's better not to boil when you make Miso soup, this is important. but it depend on the recipe. in Japan we also use Miso for stir-fry and some recipes like Miso sauce, we need to reduce etc.

    I love the fact that you used natural foods for colouring the ginger. How do I get my ginger really soft? I ate some in a restaurant and I’m trying to replicate it. The sushi ginger I have bought is rather firm.
