When I explored that fort the moat was about 60 feet dep? There was a small footbridge that eventually collapsed into the moat! Inside the fort was tunnels and shafts that were used for Anti Aircraft gun emplacements! There was winding gear for sending shells up to the guns! Amazingly I did most of the exploring at about an age of 10 ! The tunnels were pitch black and sometimes I had a flashlight! Madness but good fun! My father asked where I had been all day! I took him the next visit and he was horrified as to what I had been doing! The spirit of adventure!!
I did that in the early 60's with maybe--sometimes a flashlight! the 'moat' had a foot bridge at one time--I actually crossed it but a few years later it had crashed down!
Hello Richard, great video, used to go there with my Dad many years ago, used to be a tunnel that went from the fort out to the cliff face, really cool !! Think it is locked/closed now, sadly.
