I enjoyed the video as well! When I was a kid growing up in Michigan, we always decorated the tree on Christmas Eve! I had 4 siblings so all of us including our parents would decorate the tree together & sing Christmas carols. Afterwards, siblings & I would go down to the basement and have our "Christmas Club" meeting (only met once a year on Christmas Eve no parents allowed lol), followed by my father reading "The Night Before Christmas". To this day I have such wonderful memories of childhood Christmases.
I enjoyed your video .New follower here . I love your video .I am from Ecuador and I remenber those trafitional meals thay my mom used to prepare for all her children .Now they are with the Lord .She passed on December 24 , Christmas Eve 2005 . Merry Christmas ❤🎄
Thank you so much for watching. How hard it must have been to loose your mom on Christmas Eve but such comfort to know she is with the Lord. Merry Christmas to you! ❤️
Kristi, I watch all your current videos so now watching older ones. I love your Christmas (all holidays) traditions. I've cooked duck but never goose. After watching this video I'd love to cook a goose. At my home. I love how you bring tradition from your Family into your recipes. Mostly, I love how you insert Jesus our Lord and God our Master into your videos. Thank you for this blessed Christmas video. The labor of your hands is truly blessed.
All these special entrees look so yummy!! I would love to be at your blessed Christmas dinner to taste all of your homemade food!! Have a blessed Merry Christmas to you and yours!! ❤️😊
Cholesterol is NOT a problem to eat.. that has been completely changed by good research. So dont worry about it any more. ( On a personal note, fat is what gives the good taste, so dont be overly eager to remove too much of it, its not bad for you ....unless you eat pounds of it ofc..
My Grandma would cook a goose @ christmas, it is delicious perfect for Christmas!! Potatoes cooked in goose fat are the best so good 🥰 that dressing looks delicious I will definitely try that dressing...
My dishes available here down in South Texas are about 4 gens deep. But not the prettiest. Thus we got new place mats and overall settings for 2021. All up to date
ugh. the reason people back when did not put their tree up or decorate for Christmas until Christmas Eve was because people back knew and understood that the 12 days of Christmas STARTS 12/25 and goes through the Epiphany on 1/6....... the time before Christmas was ADVENT, a time of fasting and abstinence in preparation for Christmas........ Our modern, commercialized, materialistic post-Christian world has deleted Advent and now celebrates a Holiday Season from Thanksgiving through Christmas Day..... and throws out that old, dead tired tree and packs up the Holiday decor on 12/26, so that Christmas is now celebrated as the last day of the Holiday Season, rather than the first day of the Twelve days of Christmas. Sad.
I've never tried goose, always afraid to try it. Being you called it a "bad boy" I'm going to try!! Love your "real" expressions... he's even a sucker!! Enjoyed! It looked delicious! My mom, who's 94, loved the dishes, too.
I bought a goose for Christmas dinner only once, thought it’d make a nice change. Boy was I wrong, nicely cooked went to carve it and hit ‘bone’ , the look on my face as my daughter came in the kitchen, what’s wrong she said, there’s no breast meat I said , thought for a moment I had it upside down. It had to feed eight people, so my advice to you would be don’t buy goose if you want leftovers they’ll be none! Don’t take my word for it Delia Smith says that as well.
I think you’re more of a home cook than a chef. Your techniques and language is more aligned to my mother or grandmother cooking in the kitchen. You can’t even chop safely.
I appreciate that you remember your grandparents at this special time of year by using their items.
the old fashions are the best, much traditions, much costums, love old fashions , cheers !!
Very beautiful and bring all the memories of the 1900 ,love it
Thank you very much. 😊
That looks fantastic! They ate well in the 1900s.
beautiful table and the foods look so amazing and yummy. Loved watching from start to finish.
Thank you so much!
What an amazing meal ❤️
Thank you for your Christmas show. I really enjoyed it.
The goose reminds me to Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens movie.
I love that you rinsed it!
Everything looked so beautiful!
Thanks so much!
Beautiful table setting. I thoroughly enjoyed this entire video. Very inspiring and I loved the Christmas music in the background.

I was a child in the late seventies and early eighties. My childhood Christmas gifts were the same as what you described as being given in the 1940s.
Sometimes I wish Christmas was like it was back then. Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed your video! I love learning about the history of food traditions & your dishes look delicious!!!
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas!
Lest we not forget the true meaning of Christmas our saviours birth . Love your video of old time Christmas 🎅🏻
Yes never forget the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you for watching!
Well done, you. It's mid-September and I am already planning my holiday meals - all of which will reflect past celebrations but minus the drama.
Lovely Meal! Thanks for sharing! Looks delicious! I have Roasted large wild geese and they were delicious too!
Thanks so much! 😊
I would love to try a goose, but they're horribly expensive. $45 for a rib roast versus $100 for a goose. Love this video!
A very nice video 😍😍😍😍.......
I have the same furniture. It's Pennsylvania House and the dishes I have are fiesta ware. Also by Homer Laughlin.
I love having my grandmother’s furniture and dishes. So special! It’s nice to know there’s more like them out there. 😊

My grandmothers were born in the 1800s. I wonder what Christmas was like then. Your dinner looks delicious.

Agreed! People don't celebrate Christmas the way they used to, it's completely lost its true meaning.

Wonderful video however I was so disappointed that you didn't carve and taste the goose!Everything else was great! Merry Christmas!

Strange, when we celebrate something we kill animals. And then we say, in this case, Happy Christmas.
Did you come here just to meat-shame people? Enjoy eating like a giraffe, meanwhile I'm going to enjoy a nice rib roast.
In France , for the Christmas Dinner , we usually eat smashed potatoes with Knackis Hertas sausages.
