    This was great info and motivation to keep going in the simple route with my website, my only hang up is that if you click on a shirt I have displayed in my products or collections the other color variants appear instead of the one you just selected to view or buy on it's own.

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  Год назад

      Hey there, that's great to hear! As for the issue you are facing, have you uploaded individual images for each variant? I don't mean in the media files where you add all product photos... You also have to upload them in the variant settings, lower down.
      If you have already done that and the issue persists, you can try re-ordering your variants by dragging and dropping. Place first the one you want to appear when a product is opened.
      Another idea is to make each variant a separate product. For example a white shirt only as a product, and then the blue version only as another product. You can do this by duplicating your product to the number of variants you have, and then in each product listing, deleting all except one variant per product listing!
      Let me know if any of that works out for you! Feel free to ask any questions you may have :)

    Your video was super helpful! I'm planning to redesign my website soon, and I'm definitely going to keep your tips in mind. Do you have any advice on how to make sure the menu is accessible for people with disabilities?

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  Год назад

      Hey Viviana, great question! Accessibility is an important consideration when designing a website's navigation menu. To make sure the menu is accessible for people with disabilities, you can follow these tips:
      1. Use clear and concise language for menu labels. Avoid using ambiguous or complex terms that may confuse users with cognitive or visual disabilities.
      2. Ensure that the menu is navigable with a keyboard, as many users with motor disabilities rely on keyboard navigation to use the web.
      3. Provide visual cues such as hover or focus states to indicate which menu item is currently selected or active. This can help users with visual disabilities who may have difficulty distinguishing between different elements on the page.
      4. Test the menu with assistive technologies such as screen readers or voice recognition software to ensure that it is accessible to users with different types of disabilities.
      5. Use alt tags. These are helpful for web visitors with disabilities because they provide a text alternative to images, allowing screen readers and other assistive technology to describe the content of the image to the user.
      By following these best practices, you can create a navigation menu that is both user-friendly and accessible to all users. Hope this helps! :)

    Nice video! I was wondering what your opinion is on search bars

    • @Shopify-Success
      @Shopify-Success  Год назад

      Hey Holly, thank you for your comment, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! As for search bars, I believe they are a key feature of any website or application. Search bars can help users quickly find what they're looking for, especially if they know the specific item or information they need.
      By including a search bar in your navigation menu, you can improve the usability of your website and provide an additional option for users to navigate your content. Additionally, search bars can help improve user engagement and satisfaction by providing a more efficient way to interact with your site.
      Overall, I highly recommend including a search bar in your website's navigation menu to provide a more robust and user-friendly experience. Shopify does offer advanced search bar options, including the ability to search by product type, vendor, price range, tag, and more. In addition, Shopify also provides options for customizing the search experience, such as allowing customers to filter search results by different criteria or displaying search suggestions as customers type in the search bar.
      I hope this gives you some helpful insights!
