      Most forms of desalination are energy-intensive. Desalination has the potential to increase fossil fuel dependence, increase greenhouse gas emissions, and exacerbate climate change if renewable energy sources are not used for freshwater production. Desalination surface water intakes are a huge threat to marine life.

    • @meljohnson5116
      @meljohnson5116 Год назад +2

      I agree that desalination maybe a way, but as a country that has not gone far into renewable energy, there is no way JA can afford it. We need to invest more into renewable energy sources 1st.

    Massive depletion of water. Why are there so many housing developments with indoor and outdoor swimming pools?

    • @daniellewis561
      @daniellewis561 Год назад

      Persons are free to have pool and spend there money on paying the bill to full it. The real issue is poor water management from Nwc lack of investment in water reservoirs, leakages and infrastructure. And persons who can afford to pay find ways to breach undetected.

    Jamaica is losing its natural water supply because of Global Warming. Over the last 100 years Jamaica has lost 100 rivers. We have half the rivers we had 100 years ago. None of this is our fault. The entire world is losing water for the same reason, Global Warming, and we are all concerned worldwide about the disappearing water supply from natural sources. So it will only get worse. Conservation is only as good a water supply. The Government can only provide stop gap methods which will soon be impossible because we will soon lose all our water.
    Stephen Hawking warned us of this eventuality before he dies some years ago the only solution he suggested is for us to find another planet with water and go to live there . I recommend the Prime Minister read my books
