Interesting to watch. Looks like a lot of work. I’ve always preferred foam foil board, very consistent and same depth
Looks great
Thank you!
I came back n watched
Thanks for the video. Just sprayed my van. I can't find your video on removing the spray foam from your hands without loosing too much skin. The biggest problem I had was the two tanks kept tipping over. I have a Promaster also. I think it is the sprinter vans that warp.
You need to wear gloves! I did a sprinter van also. Didn’t warp. I think it’s internet know it alls who heard that and keep repeating it.
Great/informative video - Thank you!
2 Questions: 1. The manufacturer recommends 2” thick, is that what you did? 2. Was the one “kit” enough for the van (was there extra)? Tks
Yes it's a little more than 2'' thick everywhere but the bed cut out, i'll stuff some regular insulation in there as i put those wall panels up. There was a decent amount left over but it is difficult to use the left overs if you wait more than a day or two. If you do want to save the extra you need to keep one of the tips attached so the tip will clog but not the gun then put a new tip only when you are ready to use it.
@@BuildingVanLife That’s great insight. Thank you and look forward to watching more.
Thanks for the video. Very useful. I’m exploring this idea as well for my Sprinter project. Did you happen to spray foam (insulate) a Sprinter? Every van has a difference in the way it’s built. There’s a lot of scaremonger about warping the panels. Thanks in advance.
Yes I spray foam insulated the sprinter i built. No problems at all.
Thanks for the videos, great stuff! One question….I’ve heard spray foam can sometimes warp Van body panels. Any consideration of this or do you do anything special to avoid it?
This is the 5th van I did with it. Never had anything warp
being hearing mixed reviews on sprayfoam and warping the body. did it warp at all for you? i think it more so depends on having the foam expand between outside shell and panel metals.
This is the 5th van I did this on. It doesn’t warp anything
Eu gostei da camisa, Brazilian Jiu-jítsu 😂😎 im Brazilian
obrigado. Eu treino todo dia
I’m pretty certain I’m gonna use spray foam for insulation for all the reasons you’ve noted in your vids…. Just one concern that’s come up I’d like your opinion on: some have told me that condensation is an issue with foam and that can lead to mold. Any thoughts?
Thanks
I don’t think it’s possible. Condensation usually occurs when hot air meets cold metal or glass, not on insulation which won’t be cold. If you are just referring to moisture from breathing that would be even worse on an absorbent traditional insulation. This is the 5th van I did with the spray foam. I wouldn’t change anything. I always change things on the next one when they give me problems
Thanks - sounds logical…
I drive 18wheelers and the trailers I pull are refrigerated units. Spray foam is absolutely the best insulation but it does tend to get water logged in some circumstances.
when I haul pork I run at -10 and in the summer I have to open the doors to let everything dry out, the guys that do not end up adding around 1500lbs to the trailer just in trapped water in the foam it’s self and at that point it’s almost impossible to dry. That 1500lbs on a 53’x10’ box padded 6” thick.
Moisture can find its way into just about anything, just let it air out now and then.
I’ll be going foam on mine but looks like one bottle isn’t really gonna cut it.
How much is this costing you? Let’s say for frame, insulation, flooring and wiring
I have links for all materials in my videos
Any off gassing?
No. Once it hardens it doesn’t have any scent
Did you use all of it ?
If not how much did you use and how much do you reccomend buying ?
Yeh you will pretty much use it all.@@internalcombustion8744
Yeah I know but it's getting so bad I'm not watching things I wish to cos have no choice but see through a bunch of ads so I end up turning off n bet I'm not the only one
Well you can pay for premium like I do and then there are zero commercials
Honest feedback here -- It's an interesting idea in theory, but an awful idea in practice.
I didn't watch too many adds forced just thought I'd let you know
I don't control ads, that's through youtube
