Every mans dream- a woman with a tool box. Having one with a barn and a workbench is just the icing on the cake! Well done! Loved the clear voice commentary!
Just discovered your channel as I get into woodworking as my hobby after retiring from teaching. You are an inspiration to women and the craft! Getting ready to build the workbench! Can't wait!
Build this workbench from the plans on the website a couple months back. Made it slightly taller, and added a flip up table on one end for my disc sander and grind stone. Best workbench I've used.
The whole design of the downdraft section of your table is so elegant! And I love the idea of building something simple initially to figure out what you really need and upgrading as you go. So smart!
So Dollar Shave is why you always look so great? You have awesome ideas and do a great job on the video editing. I hope you get to 2 million subscribers soon so they can enjoy your channel. You rock, I enjoy your videos every time. Be safe!
This is such a practical and intuitive design. That's speaking of both the bench and the add-ons. We need more projects like these on RUclips. Great work and thank you for sharing, April!

I am deeply allergic to advertisement. Principally because it is totally invading our lives today, by telephone, by mail, and email (I stoped watching TV and listening to the radio because of ads, and intellectually insultant content). That said, the way you promote your sponsors is THE way to do. You are authentic, you doesn't insult our intelligence. I hope your sponsors know the value of what you provide to them. And as I don't comment enough, let me also congratulate you for the quality of your contents. It is imaginative sprinkled with humour, and always rock'n'roll \m/ Thank you, April.
I found and sub'd this channel because of the original build of this workbench. You are a very creative person and I'm looking forward to watching more videos. 1M subs is well deserved!
April I cannot say how impressed with your workshop and workbench videos. It in spires me to build one for my back deck until I build my shop in my backyard. You’re very knowledgeable and awesome at your craft!! Thank you for making your videos and showing us how to utilize dead space. ❤️🙏🏽
This video, along with the previous one about this workbench, were for sure the workbench construction videos I liked the most. And I think I've seen dozens before. Awesome flexibility and it conveys very well the idea of seeing the workbench as... a work in progress.
I can't believe it's been a year since you built that table. These were really nice additions to the existing table, especially the sliding cubbies. There is another option for dust sweep, though. You could have added some hose to the underside of the bench top, and added a small grated 'drain' at either the four corners or the middle of each side (pool-table style). If you used smaller hoses than the full shop vac size, the vacuum would be powerful enough to pull in dust from any side of the table, especially if you add gates to the drains and the downdraft table so you'd only open whichever inlet you wanted at any given time. With a little creative wiring you'd be able to add a switch to either end of the table to turn the vac on. Sort of a mini dust collection system, just like the big one you have for your stationary tools.
I'm a general contractor of 30+ years and must say that after watching your videos I feel like a green apprentice. You are absolutely amazing and your videos have given me a whole new direction. Thank you so much. How big is your workshop? Did you build it?
WOW April, I think it's just amazing to see how many details and solutions for storing tool and other stuff, you put into one work table, keep up the good work.
Hi April. I purchased the plans from you a while back and I built this bench. I love it. I've even incorporated my table saw into it. both bottom and top shelf were starting to sag a little but this new video you put out in June is the perfect fix for it. Thanks so much for sharing that. I will add the supports to mine too. Grazie mille :-)))
Another great video. You have the best work bench of all the ones I have seen on you tube, and it uses the most Efficient use of space and tools imaginable. I just moved into our new house and garage, and am looking very forward to tinkering and trying to build that bench. I just need to find the beginning instructions to start, then I can work on pimping it out more later and once settled.
I went into this vid a little sceptical but came out a true fan of the table. A lot of very handy storage and versatile to boot. I have one of those Rigid shop vacs in the house actually and it rocks.
That's great to hear! You should try it, if it's appealing to you. Building changed my life. I've never known anything more empowering then thinking of something, then putting it together with my own two hands.
Nice video April. Been looking at several ideas on a mobile workbench. Idea for your PVC clamp replacement would be EMT conduit. cheap and plenty strong enough. Continue to have fun!
I had a smile on my face throughout the two videos I just watched. I plan to use many of your ideas on my bench and promote your channel to my friends. Thank you
Nice additions April. You might want to put stop blocks on the pull-out shelves to prevent you from pulling them out too far. In addition, you can make them flip out of the way so if you want them to pull out all the way you could. Just an idea.
Great video! I’ve been a subscriber for a few years and it’s so cool to see how you and your channel have changed over that time. Thanks for being an inspiration to beginner woodworkers!
Nail gun tip: Turn your nail gun 90 degrees before depressing the trigger. If a nail EVER hits anything in the wood, the nail will deflect curving outwards toward the front of the gun and protruding through the piece of wood beneath. By turning the nail gun 90 degrees, the nail will remain inside the wood beneath regardless if it deflects or not.
Once again to bring forward new ideas! I´m always lucky, see you to work. I hope you will do it many time again. Nice greetings from Bavaria-Germany. Sorry to my bad English - so Long!
I would like to suggest 3 inch deep drawers all around just beneath the top. It is really handy to put the tools I use all the time in shallow drawers (so I can't bury tools in a deep drawer). When I need to use the table for a large piece of plywood, I can quickly drop all the hand tools into the drawers so the top is clear instantly. Because the drawers are shallow, it is easy to find a tool since it is only one layer deep.
Being a man has no off season, real men have beards year round. It protects the underlying skin from UV damage. Shaving causes microscopic cuts in the skin leaving an open door for bacteria to enter the body and cause sickness. I've had a full beard for the last 4 years now and I love it. I also like the work bench upgrades April. Keep up the good work.
Cool! Now I'm inspired to go out to my workshop and upgrade my workbench / workshop too -- Lots of good ideas to think about... thanks so much for the video. P.S. I love your large workshop space and wish I had something like that too. That would be my dream workshop. I have a tiny space by comparison and not as many tools or floor space for them, but I still enjoy watching you make things. So anything you offer to make things even incrementally better in the shop are greatly appreciated.
I've never really given downdraft tables much thought. This is pretty slick though. I keep re-watching these two workbench vids and I'm thinking I really need to make this as a combination assembly table and outfeed surface for the table saw.
Hi April, a lot of good improvements on your bench, just one observation though, when you put the air grids in you need somewhere to keep the cover so it doesn't get lost or cut up thinking it is part of what you are working on. Apologies if you have already thought of that but I did not see it in your video.
The downdraft table is a great Idea (we think alike) I just created an almost 4 x 8 outfeed table for our SawStop saw for our makerspace Mauimakers.com it is on casters and can be moved and is hooked up to our shop dust collection. I used foam for the suction direction angles and used 7/8 holes so we can use welding style F clamps for hold downs. If you share your 1500 sq ft shop with 20 makers maximum flexibility is a must. BTW it has reduced airborn red rain (local hardwood dust) by over 75% since it was put in service. The actual table is a tension box 5" thick
Madame April vous êtes une personne exceptionnelle vous avez énormément de talent et vous êtes altruistes. Merci pour vos vidéos et vos œuvres splendide
Translated from French; "Ms. April, you are an exceptional person, you have a lot of talent and you are altruistic. Thank you for your videos and your splendid works
April if you put a smaller I.D. doll rod INSIDE your PVC hanger you can increase the weight on them without them bending. this is what i found out to be helpful
nice to see @ 4:00 minutes you did hold the nail gun with BOTH HANDS !!!- good work, that's the safer way :)) especially since this is a video that most beginners are going to see, so best to show the safer way.

Congrats on ONE MILLION subs April! So well deserved! Keep making amazing content and we’ll keep watching! -Rob & Sarah
Loved the original workbench. This just makes it that much better

I like the down draft table integrated into your bench and I like being able to convert it back to a flat surface.
It would be nice to add some magnets to the piece that is used for that. Looks a little bit wobbly.
You are seriously an inspiration to all young girls! I’m so glad my dad shared yours channel with me. I’ll be sharing them with my daughter too.
incredibly handy ideas. More good stuff in one video than I have found on all others combined. And some funny moments.

- Both builds of this work table are great projects. Thanx 4 the lessons.

How big is your workshop? Did you build it?
Right at 4,000 sqft. Yep, I built it and there's a playlist of my Shop Build. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers!
WOW April, I think it's just amazing to see how many details and solutions for storing tool and other stuff, you put into one work table, keep up the good work.
Always so many cool ideas April. Really liked the wood rails above the drawers to keep them from falling out.
: ) Thank you
Oh my gosh, that hardware storage wall looks beautiful!!
Very cool addition's to the workbench....have to say the downdraft section is my favorite. Less than 6k left to 1 million subs...

Esta muy práctica la mesa de trabajo.
Excellent! I will be making this for my shop
Great improvements. For my workbench top I used a solid door bought from the Restore for $5.

Wow the work bench that has it all looks great!!!
I went into this vid a little sceptical but came out a true fan of the table.
A lot of very handy storage and versatile to boot. I have one of those Rigid shop vacs in the house actually and it rocks.

That downdraft table is great. Great video
Great to see a great bench so easy to build.
Wao April you are amazing. I love that you are very neat with your stuff and how handy you are. You inspire me to be a builder. Love your channel

How Dare You Design and Build Like a Super Genius!! All men around the world bow to your excellence! BRAVO!!!
That's a super idea to put the downdraft table into the top, and be able to cover it when needed. Thanks!

Pro tips like this should be the top comment on all maker videos. Thanks
that's true
Enjoyed your improvements, building mine now.
Nice job there .. I think I'll use your idea for the screw box holders on the leg of my bench ! I like the shelves too.
Thanks for your vids! Love your work bench ideas. Good luck with assembly required show. Can't imagine working with those two wackos.
Workbench mods are great, love the storage you have too. Thanks for sharing.

She explained very plainly her dislike for drawers and the reasons. Why would she add drawers when she does not like drawers?
Again, an excellent workbench, now with improved alterations and additions. Brilliant.
I enjoyed your bench mod. Thanks for sharing.

Best work bench build up there 👍👍
Excellent work bench, I had been interested to what you ended up with. Well done.
Awesome upgrades April. Always enjoy your projects thanks for takin the time to share
