Fun fact: In the story, Zhongli drew eyes for Azhdaha. This action come from a Chinese term, "drew eyes to the dragon"(画龙点睛）. There is a story behind this term.
In Ancient China, there was a painter who was good at drawing dragons. However, he never draw eyes for his dargons. A person didn't understand, and asked the painter why. The painter asked: if I draw eyes to the dargons, they will fly away. That person didn't believe. So the painter put eyes on one of his dargon. Suddently, thunder and lightning appeared from nowhere. The dargon flew away from the paper and disappeared in the sky.
Nowday, "drew eyes to the dragon" can mean "the key process of something" in Chinese.
Edit: In Pokemon game, Rayquaza must learn "Dragon Ascent" before it can Mega Evolve. And “Dragon Ascent” in Chinese and Japanese language is "drew eyes to the dragon".

Also, dragon and lion dances can be seen in traditional Chinese festivals.
Before the performance, people usually use Chinese brush to draw two eyes on the dragon head and lion's head. The origin is this story, which is the one symbol of the inheritance of Chinese civilization from generation to generation.

the reason zhongli hang out with the traveller is because zhongli wants the traveller to see the real history and remember them. after thousands of years, the story told by the people has change and is no longer the same as what has happened. if you listen carefully, what the storyteller say and what zhongli say are actually different... that is the erosion of time he is talking about... he is not much there to hear about his friend, he is there because he know he is the only one that actually still remember them as they were... thus he exist to carry their memories...

Seriously, I got chills at the climax of his storytelling. That's a very powerful voice and the perfect way to properly convey this tale of an almighty earth dragon's birth.

Why is it that every Zhongli Quest is just godlike? Everything about his quests just makes me feel things like goosebumps all over. Oh how I wish I can reset myself and play it all over again. I love him so much, I wanted to hug him when he has to say good bye to another old friend of his.
In the Chinese view, Zhongli is a symbol of an idealized Emperor. I feel very grateful that Mihoyo can bring the true Chinese culture to the world.

the overarching story is great. But the dialogues, as always... not.
Yanfei's story writing is especially cringe. They have zero clue on how to write a *brilliant female lawyer* character with compelling conclusion to the story.
The way they write her dialogue to show how smart she is are full of holes, defeating that exact purpose. Also it's obvious they try to make everything ends nice and well, but the delivery is awful. She's supposed to be a sharp lawyer too, but the side characters are acting like a bunch of caricatures, showing non-human like traits, like how the scammer acted all mighty and strong, but suddenly crumbles down and accepting defeat like a total noob scammer, unlike how his profession suggest. And how the scammed went from close to losing everything into suddenly nice and bright, acting like a goddess forgiving everything with zero consequence even after going on such length to self preservation. And how everyone just accept that the scammer learnt his lesson and suddenly will be a good guy together with the scammed.... and yanfei is supposed to be the sharp one in that situation, but she just went ciao... ugh
nice overarching story, but dumb, terrible dialogues. I'm in a position where I just skip story dialogues and take my canon info from the character stories and archive instead.

Don't know if you've found out yet, but the VA's name is David Lodge.
I mostly know him as Jeralt from FE 3 Houses, but he's done solid work in many other works.
Zhongli's voice is great but the storyteller's VA also needs some recognition in his storytelling

Zhongli is just so freaking cool. The way he is represented like a real God in his lore is so awesome. That's why he is my favorite character.
Personally the best part about this story teaser is that it has 2 parallel "stories" going on at the same time: one told by the storyteller that is based on myth, and one told by the Geo Archon himself that is based on actual events. You really see how time can change perspective of things and come to understand the effects of erosion through time.
As an honest Genshin Impact fan I have to say FIFA is a more quality game than Genshin Impact.

In honkai impact, raiden mei is a char with purple lightning battle suit that looks like a shogun armor, and when in herrscher form, she fight with an electro dragon. Coincidence? I think not

@@kai4344 almost all of my friends didn't play this game because it's too huge, their phone and PC can't handle it, and they don't have enough money to buy a new device for this game. I had a 4 GB RAM phone, and I can't played it. So I begged to my mom, and she told me if I get good grades, she will buy me a new one with better spec. I did what she wants, and she kept her promise. Man Genshin is amazing, the story writing is really good, I always paid attention to the story, even though some of those are boring as hell. This game has some its downside (like Paimon), but I won't deny the good side of this game.
Now we'll just have to wait for venti and zhongli to have the ultimate pokemon battle

I loved this clip but this also shows how lonely Zhongli is. It makes more sense when Azdaha also tells him he’s lonely in the new story quest.

I still enjoy more the Yaksha's one, or the one from "We Will be Reunited" when you fight the Herald, but this one is defo pretty damn good.

This may sound random but, I genuinely find Zhongli more godlike than Venti or even Baal.
There is this poised demeanor and elegance in how he behaves even around the traveller. Also his story quests like these gives such ancient godly feeling.
Ei also has that kind of stuff, but I like Zhongli more than her. He's more approachable and is willing to offer any help to the traveller. He's not some boring tsundere who keeps himself locked up somewhere like a spoilt kid throwing a tantrum. Baal seems more like a tyrant and Ei's irresponsibility of dictating people just for Eternity made me dislike her even more.
Venti is just a tiny little bard who always drinks and bums around though. 🤣 Among the seven his behaviour and ideals are very different.
i get where you're coming from. in my opinion baal is more godlike from a power standpoint. Tbh whenever i think of a "god" i think of someone far beyond and removed from humans which isn't necessarily a good thing, and who are pretty powerful without any help whatsoever, and that's who "baal" is. she didn't even need her gnosis lmao she took signora out as easy as sleeping while venti (we both agree he's jus a bard lmao) struggled against some ice around his feet. Baal has some serious poise as well despite her beliefs, she carries herself very well (her trailer was so good). Anyway i also like to think, after reading ur comment, that Baal embodies the types of gods you fear while zhongli embodies the types of gods that nourish and live among their ppl. I’d say Zhongli is more godlike in terms of maturity and just how wise he is. For Ei, she seeks eternity, and only eternity. Part of its a coping mechanism after losing Baal, the other part is that’s just what she’s known and sought out for the longest time. Ei is very immature in comparison to Zhongli, despite her regal status. She’s literally like a teenager. She’s easy to manipulate and deceive as shown through the Fatui, she loves sweet foods like desserts, she hides in the plane of euthymia

They based Zhongli on the ideal, perfect emperor/ruler in Ancient China, well at least Morax is. After getting their Gnosis taken away, they all seem like normal folks which I think is what Mihoyo is going for

Do you think a god like Venti that can literally create winds that lift you up to Dvalin will fight Signora, removing his cover and destroying Mondstadt?
Besides, in the comics it said that Venti slept for thousands of years and that's why his power declined that much. So in conclusion, we don't know so please don't claim what you speak as facts while we haven't even seen them fight seriously once
