Really exhausted of the general refrain that our two party system has enabled. “Lesser evilism” is still an evil that’s only being enacted outside our purview, in a sense, willingly sacrificing others for a chance at survival rather than a collective understanding of how our suffering is connected. It’s really frustrating to hear “This is the only choice we have” when that same level of organization that happens for voting can be reapplied to different contexts, especially when people can be energized at the threat of their material reality. Kamala winning is indeed, a slow death. Trump winning is just the same death. And that’s just for Americans. Being in the Congo, or Sudan, or Palestine, this election just changes who’s in front of the levers exterminating them. We can’t accept this two party system anymore. As you said, we live in a oligarchy.

I would say we need to stop focusing on the 4 year election cycle. I choose to vote for harm reduction every four years, then I do the hard work of community organizing the rest of the time. My only pushback to your comment is that it ignores the thousands of people who are doing exactly what you want folks to be doing. My question is why do people comment on the presidential candidates, but do not point out and uplift the people who are doing the day-to-day organizing?

personally, i think we as local organizers should spend about a day on each federal election and invest more in local elections. but never as much as we spend on direct action. build housing co-ops, worker co-ops, protest with intention, and build strong communities that are self "policing." take as much power back for the people in your community as you can. on a larger level, i think we should use worker co-ops and housing co-ops to support the general strike efforts coming in 2028. those are some of the tools that can be used to dismantle the house

Liberalism naturally veers towards fascism because of a misguided adherence to respectability politics, allowing hate speech to thrive and economic exploitation. Just look at how all the Dems reacted following Trump assassination attempt, sending all their thoughts and prayers. They'd do the same thing if this were 1930s Germany and Hitler got shot. Voting blue is just delaying the inevitable b/c libs will either willing give up the reins of power should they fear for their private property and for the sake of "law and order," or they will allow fascists to be voted into office, just as Hitler was voted in. The fear mongering about "saving democracy" this cycle is comical, given the fact there's only ever been a democracy for the rich and a dictatorship for the rest of us. Just because we vote doesn't mean it's a democracy when it's billionaires that choose the candidates. If we're a democracy so is Russia and Iran.

That said, and I'm not saying you advocated this, I just feel this needs to be brought up because I see too many leftists bring 3rd parties up uncritically: all the nationally recognized or widespread 3rd party Presidential candidates here in the US are corporate backed, too. Whether it's Jill Stein, or that weirdo in 2016 who tried to say that the sun exploding in 7 billion years made the very real threat of climate change irrelavent, or lest we forget the horrible run of Cornel West who's been hanging around with literal white supremacists(!), these people and these parties are also, not your friends. They're grifters taking their cut from more niche corners of US politics.
Instead, I'd advocate for the building of new local third parties like Fannie Lou Hammer and so many others did back in the day because Dems were bound and determined to uphold the status quo whenever and wherever possible. Then, make your nation-wide coalitions and mergings into stronger 3rd parties.
But... just to reitterate... that's still working *within* the system which can't be the only path to "better futures".

I agree with most of your critiques of the national parties and the anti-democratic measures they use to maintain power and their desire to perpetuate America's oligarchy. What I cannot abide is the inference that voting on the national level does not matter. I believe it matters on the margins. For instance, Biden's support of UAW and his nominees for the NLRB led to substantive, material gains for people. When you talk about grassroot efforts to fundamentally change local politics, I believe unions will be a part of those movements. If that happens, Biden's policies will be directly responsible. His prescription drug plan directly helped my family (and thousands of others) as did his student loan forgiveness plan. Lastly, I do not know anyone who thinks voting blue will save us - at least among the working class folks I know. The people that I know who will vote for Harris are engaging in harm reduction voting. These same people engage in local grassroots organizing because they, too, know that that's the only strategy that will save us. We can engage in harm reduction voting to give us the emotional space and time to do the necessary grassroots organizing. It is not an either/or; we can do both.

@@lovestarlightgiver2402 I could not agree more. In his first two years, he passed som truly impactful legislation. He will also leaves behind a rich legacy of judges that will absolutely make a difference in the future. With all that said, I will still be out here engaging in community organizing because I know that's where we can really impact people's lives.

I agree that Kamala or any politician for that matter is not going to fix all the deep seated issues in our country, they will make mistakes of their own. But don't you think it would be easier to fight fascism and other issues under a democrat vs a brazen fascist republican like Trump?
Also don't you think preserving LGBT rights is worth it? Because under Trump we are back to square 1.

Obama took it back to square 1 as well, running on Roe, then saying 'not a priority' (Cuz it's the perfect fundraiser carrot year after year) It's easier to fight Red and Blue fascism (corporatism) by divesting from duopoly thinking. Direct action is where it's at. (See college students with real morals protesting genocide).

Who's the Vice President right now? How're things going for us queer folks right now? And where is the democracy when it comes to Kamala and any politician for that matter actively murdering hundreds of thousands of people in Palestine and countless others across the world?

liberals go to brunch when there's a D in office, in fact they were not nearly as incensed against bush as they were/are for trump. I think it might be easier to fight fascism when an extra 30 million people recognize that there IS fascism instead of making excuses for it like they have been doing these last few years.

I don't think we should expect for fascism to be easier to fight. That's the point of fascism. It hides in obvious and not so obvious places

@@PrinceShakurRUclips Yesss. Definitely not the best thing. Now, here’s where you tell us how you are getting the electorate population and making them leftists. I mean we aren’t dealing with agents of the state here. I hate when leftists talk about unity and working together but they just totally disconnect from the population around them and the community they are in. Half the voting population in this country are voting for Trump. And this is where you think we should be most concerned?

There is very little difference between the two American parties... (see the famous Gore Vidal quote)... Kamala Harris is, I guess, better than Trump, but it's still just business (& capitalism) as usual.

@@PrinceShakurRUclips “voting doesnt matter” at scale is what gets you trump. Your take is wildly myopic and puts people (like myself nonbinary/trans) in real harm because you’re on a high horse about “both parties are bad so lets fight facism”. Instead it should be Vote blue then do the work to make things better. To say anything else rn is reckless at best and completely delusional at worst. Everything sucks. Get to the work with context we’re handed. This whole idea that not voting for dems somehow is doing POC any favors is wildly stupid in a way I can’t actually wrap my mind around. While we’re over here fighting trump and gop is collecting wins. Nothing is perfect. But that doesnt mean you sit shit out or “fight facism”. Right now you vote to save us from an agenda that will end you me and anyone who looks like us a hell of lot quicker than anything dems will do asap. I like your videos but this take feels widly off.
