  • We hit the streets of London with our charming presenter all the way from Tokyo, Katsuya Hasegawa. We asked Japanese tourists and students what they think about London, British food, fashion, people. We wanted to know everything! and we heard some really interesting sometimes surprising responses.
A big shout out to Reina Sandifer, who worked tirelessly to interpret the interviews.

Seeing as I was raised in Wigan I find it alarming and confusing that someone doesn’t like pie.

Dragged up kicking and screaming in Preston Lancs. How could we ever have survived witbout the pie shop? You bring your own jug for gravy and carry it home very carefully and on fridays you get butter pies (no meat, just potatoes). Nostalgia, its not what it used to be.

Don’t tell the northerners Wetherspoons is shit! They’ll have a nosebleed! It’s cheap, that’s all that matters for them! Doesn’t matter that the beer is often terrible, the food is dire and all the crackheads hang out there, because on a Thursday it’s £2 for a pint of Carling!

@@lloroshastar6347 @nick260682 Worse. As they are in London, they probably fell for the old Cockney 'Pie, mash and liquor' scam - the scam being that it's sold as being 'food'.
Why the Advertising Standards Authority hasn't already clamped down on this is a national scandal - so something must be done before it's becomes an international issue and the World Health Organization gets involved.

It’s funny, the girl mentioned the portions are too big. I saw a video with Americans where they were complaining they were too small.
I guess that explains why Japanese are slim, English are often a bit chubby, and Americans are fatty boombooms.

How did you find all those Japanese people in London? Like someone else said, they're something of a rarity these days.
Back in the 20th century nearly all E Asian tourists in London seemed to be Japanese. But nowadays they're far more likely to be speaking Mandarin Chinese.
(You never heard Mandarin Chinese on to the streets back in the day. Only Cantonese and that was spoken by immigrants from Hong Kong...)
PS I'm glad they all seemed to like it here so much... despite the dodgy experiences with pie!

Japanese closed factories and left UK after BREXIT and threaten UK government for any harm from BREXIT while S Korea made free trade agreement with UK after BREXIT to aid UK. Japanese also stopped building UK nuclear power project after running over the fund limit and left after UK refused to pay more than what they agreed on contract. Japan did same thing with Turkish nuclear power project and stopped from construction when Turkish government refused to pay more than what they agreed on in contract. Now those projects left by Japanese will cost more due to starting over because they left garbage at the site. UK rail system built by Japan is also causing design problems but Japan is refusing to fix them like they did with Egypt during blocking Suez Canal which cost billions in damage but Japanese company which built problem ship refuse to pay compensation for Egypt and companies effected by blocking Suez canal. Japan is #2 China of Asia don't take care of their mistake and still drag war crimes committed during WW2.
