Love this lesson and your teaching! I never listened to the tune before like this. Makes you appreciate just how great Randy Bachman is. How I wish my hands and fingers weren't so afflicted with psoriatic arthiritis making it so hard to play these days now that I'm retired and have the time to learn these great tunes of my youth.
Seen a bunch of folks try this sort of thing on RUclips. Nobody nails the stuff better or conveys is more clearly than you. I'm considering your Patreon page - not just for the tabs and resources, but the headscratching you've prevented so far with just a few YT videos is worth it! Keep 'em coming!
Great song choice - always loved this song. Quite simple to play but it's all about in the execution and the attitude. I've always slapped the strings just like you do, it makes it more percussive and pushes the song rhythm. A good lesson. I never bothered with the acoustic intro - I didn't get the connection(?) with the main song. That solo is soooo good. I used to always think it was a keyboard that gave the wobble/tremolo sound, but you showed me otherwise! Love it. Keep up all the good lessons ... and the nice guitars on show.
having P90's just gives it that bite I have 3 Stacked P90's on a stock Vintage V6P Stratocaster style guitar a brand here in the UK, fun lesson BTO was the band in my day and right from my neck of the woods
The two guitarists used to switch parts. Sometimes Randy and Garry would take turns between rhythm and lead. Both could play each other’s parts. As for guitars used there was a strat, SG, and 335. Used at least in the early 70’s
Also, Love the New SG!! I want several of 'em - have to be Epiphone or Other, can't afford GibRICH - I have a Harley Benton Tuned to Open E Set Up for Slide. Thanks, Again!!
Prior to RUclips we spent far too much time playing about having no clue certain songs used open tunings. Also - shame on the band that was engaging as the Guess Who with no original members. Buyer beware.
Great song and tutorial. Always look forward to your tutorials. Thanks.
Your a great instructor explaining everything verbatim , very professional thank you.
No wonder I couldn't get the sound right!! He is in open tuning in the beginning!!!! Thanks , Doug!!!
Isn't it always the simple things that trip us up?
