Druids is a wicked corner ! Double apex and blind. I was fortunate to watch F2, F5000 and F1 cars through there in the 1970’s. Skill on another level. God bless.
That lift off oversteer decompressed the suspension reducing traction.. its unfortunate because flying through there takes balls the size of Jupiter. Good driving though nonetheless
Made a conscious decision to keep foot in on this lap and then obviously ran out of talent/bottle and lifted which made the rear come round. Got to push to learn
Not too bad given the everything! Pretty mad lap too! If you're keeping the car for a long time, check the seams are still sealed. Easier to prevent rust than to fix it.
Looked a soft ride which didn't help with the balance of the car. Stiffer springs and dampers next if your going to go that fast. Unlucky dude, poor rear window 🙈
Rear window ? Only a minor crack to the bumper nothing else , I had the bumper repaired which was a simple fix still on the car 👍🏻 yes some suspension settings to play with. Upgraded to a more track focused set 👍🏻
Ahh unlucky. Looked like you didn't get wide enough to the right before entering Drouids to get it straight enough before braking? Looked quick though.
@@malek4485 yep but you've got to be brave. Take a look at Jason Platos save at brands hatch, in his interview he said the back went and he knocked it down a cog and kept his foot pinned to the floor and hoped for the best.
@@harryhelliar1474 Correct but even in an awd car, the lift caused the back to come round, therefore if he'd kept his foot in, he wouldn't of crashed because of the weight transfer.
@@EugVR6 I agree, however imo it was more about the steering input, if he had approached the corner wider he wouldnt have had to do such large steering inputs over the crest and probably would have saved it, but like anything, hes pushing mistakes happen!
I did exactly that lift in a rear wheel drive 996. The instructor nearly had a seizure. He said the PSM saved us (though I thought it was my cat like reflexes ;) If you are going to write off your car though Oulton Park is one if the most beautiful circuits at which to do it.

Couldn’t see how you were going to crash because you were driving so well.

@@ladams5356 yeah, dont be a pussy
Unlucky, you almost got away without hitting anything.
Had a small crack in bumper only. Was back out on track after 💪
id call that insanely lucky lmao
@@TheMapleLab 110mph dead right
Decent lap until the crash too 😐
Shame… Really good driving / line / use of track till that point….
lifting there is askin for a crash sadly

Yes still got, don’t worry she’s all good 👍🏻
Your lines were good. I've done numrous bike track days and seen many kitty litter momets at Druids and Lodge.
Gutted you were flying .. smooth too
i guess a left foot brake would've been better then lifting?
What tires did you use?
They were nankang ns2r
Watertower still scares me, this doesn't help :P must not lift ... great up until then though!

@@ladams5356 sounded like the rear window smashed when you went in backwards, I guess not lol.
Glad your ok 😜👍🏻

philly10 it was the lift off made rear light and round it came
I know it feels alien to do but keep your foot on the gas.
