    Amazing video guys. Watching you talk about the difficulties and fears when facing new features, and about the way each of you (each of you in your own way) faces these challenges and find a way to overcome them, was fantastic! I fully identify with these fears on every mountain bike outing. Mindset is the word...
    Thanks Sage, thanks Dan.

      @@TrailSage I loved it. This topic is very much in line with the answer I gave you in my last video, about the 2 obstacles on that trail that are my "Achilles heel" and that I really want to go there and clean them out. If I didn't know how much work goes into making a video like this, I'd say you made the video in response to my previous comment. 😁😁

    Your videos are getting better time and time again Sage! This was both entertaining and educating. Thanks for taking us through your decision making process on how you tackle those features. It's great to have a riding buddy who shares the challenge, who gives feedback and who's there when things go south. I would need to do a lot more sessioning, but I oftentimes ride alone, and I have to admit, I tend to stay within reach of my comfort zone then. It is always great to see you riding since you know how to handle your bike. But even watching this video I got sweaty hands, cause I too envision the consquences of not bailing in time. Anyway keep those great videos up Sage, it's a pleasure watching every time!
    ps: What I find most fascinating about our sport is the fact that oftentimes the big challenge of yesterday becomes routine ever after. And we - or at least I - go through those progression cycles every season. It's not that I start at zero, but it takes a few rides to get on par again and progress from there. It sure happens faster every year, but still I need to dig up those patterns of movement that were natural before. And since a lot of that "diggin" happens overnight, it's sometimes ok to let a feature uncleared if you don't feel it and return another day. Just make sure you're trying again.

    • @TrailSage
      @TrailSage  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much Christian! I totally agree with you on all your points. I will also add, as I get older, injuries start to pile up and it gets harder and harder to find the same confidence to hit these big features. These tips help me get back into the proper mindset, but I still struggle to push myself over the edge sometimes.
