Nothing about Dragonball makes me sader than knowing that in the end, after all his struggles, everything he lost and sacrificed... Trunks lost everything, his mother, his world, his universe, his entire reality. The only solace is that he was able to save the woman he loved. I can't imagine the nightmares that would haunt him after all he's seen.

Now that I think about it, they totally fumbled a potential plot line.
Trunks met supreme Kai, why didn’t he give Trunks the Z sword?
Would explain how Trunks got strong enough to compete at current power levels.
After the Kais were dead, black breaks Z sword, Elder pops up as last Kai, Trunks takes him and runs, then gets potential unleashed.
New power up, fan service with old ability, and a sudo following in Gohans footsteps ( wrong Gohan but still ).
