I've said it all along the 60s ,70s and the 80s were the Greatest 3 Decades Ever for virtually everything , but the music from them Will Never be topped or repeated , I'm 61 so i only remember the late 60s . Thanks Mom and Dad for growing up in those times . If you did too you know what I'm saying, just wish icould go back and appreciate it even more second time around, anyone else want to as well !!!?
This is one of those songs that a lot of people won't remember, but that when you rediscover it it brings a big smile to your face and a warm feeling in your heart 😊❤
Wax - Bridge to your heart Samantha Fox - Nothing's gonna stop me now Inxs - Need you tonight The Cure - Just Like Heaven Terence Trent d'Arby - Wishing well Tiffany - I think we're alone now Depeche Mode - Never let me down again Michael Jackson - Bad Madonna - La Isla Bonita These songs define my childhood.
This song stands the test of time, and is as brilliant now as the first time I heard it, all those years ago. Proper Peter Gabriel vibes from the video, too. I miss great music.
The coolest thing about this song is that when you're familiar with both of the artists who teamed up as "Wax UK" U can hear the songs of BOTH of their styles at once collaborating PERFECTLY within this little gem. ;)
I had just turned 9 years old when wax released this late 80s beauty in the summer of '87 July 1987 I think that this went to the number one spot If it didn't it should have Great tune 👌 👍
I haven’t heard this since it was out! I was like 5 but remember it clearly. Me sitting on my mums black ash coffee table watching top of the pops on a Thursday night 😆
I was watching Nick Rocks on Niclkelodeon in March or April of 1988 and saw this video. MTV didn't play this kind of stuff. I was just about to turn 16. This song stuck with me....and digging another song during this set....Tami Show - She's Only Twenty.
This came on the radio yesterday. I'm a huge fan of 80s music but didn't know the song. One of my 1 yr old twins started dancing like hell to this. Sad to read in the comments, that the singer already died. But the good music will keep on living forever and will even make toddler dance like crazy. This went straight to my playlist now. Also like the irony that this came out when I was 1 yr old and now one of my 1 yr old dancing to it... blows my mind somehow. Greetings from Germany
It's always nice to hear when people play good music for their children. Some of my earliest moments, growing up in the early '90s, was my dad playing Beatles and Nirvana for me.
@@Marcusml333 absolutely true, also in my case. I still remember driving in the car with my father, playing Queen, Pink Floyd, Police, Collins and Prince etc. Love the music to this day and even went to Collins concert "Not Dead Yet" Tour. Sad that Freddie, Prince and also George Michael for example are already dead and I will never be able to experience their music live. Thank you for reminding me about creating memories with music. Did not think about it.
Music was music when this bad boy was out. Can't dance for toffee. Couple of pints later moon walking around like Michael Jackson. GOOD Days.... LOVE AND MISS THE 80S
still amazing..love this record takes me back to 87 in an instant, ..happy memories make me miss my childhood so much..this track does it..lyrically..superb..video is amazing..still! and production on this bloody fantastic!
When you have a music video mostly animated (in various styles) & rocking/badass singing you're definitely building a bridge to 1's heart. The peak of Wax's career. RIP Andrew Gold, thank you for being a friend in all those years.

Oh my gosh, I know this song by heart!! I was about 12 or 13 when I first heard it on the radio and I couldn't stop hearing it and singing it and learning all its words by heart. This song cheers me up!! Such a beautiful, carefree period.
I was 7 when I first heard this. On "Hits Tape 87" I could never get past the first few songs. This, fleetwood Mac, A-ha and then rewind. Happy memories
Bought this on 7" vinyl today, found a record store that had hundreds of old vinyls from 60s, 70s and 80s. Could of been there for hours but managed to find 8 all priced 50p.
someone in the marketing department must have had it in for them. Both Andrew and Graham were solid hit makers in the 70s, with even a modest push they should have been killing it in the 80s.
Songs like this defined my years in high school, which was 1986-1988. Some great years for music in the 80's. MTV was still hot and the world was a better place than it is now.
I was 16 wen this song came out; I had recorded this song on my Tap on the Top 40 charts every Sunday. Jelly bean bags and shoes, bright colours and I thought "New York! here I come". Childhood memories 😊.
