I went to my silver dealer and purchased all of his available Junk Silver. Three bags of silver full of Barber Half Dollars, Barber Quarters, and Barber Dimes! Knowing that he rarely picks through them, I decided to buy them all in hopes of maybe adding a few upgrades to my album, or possibly scoring a better date or two. I did not expect to find so many rare coins (including old Silver Half Dollar Commemoratives, some better dates and even a few RARE Barber Liberty Half Dollar that I could add to my coin collection and coin albums in this purchase... In this video, I will search through all the old Silver coins from the bags. I will be looking for key dates, semi key dates, upgrades, and of course and varieties within the years I hunt. Also, he gave me a bag of old copper coins at Face Value which yielded a few good finds as well! Hopefully you all enjoy this video! It still amazes me that there's still this much old silver floating around, especially after the Hunt brothers ran the price of silver up to $50 back in 1980 and people were melting everything
They say in the book "The Big Silver Melt" that they estimate 10% of the junk silver did survive. When I buy silver, I focus on Franklins and 1964 JFK's.
@@staleydu1Interesting that more than 10% survived. I know that the US government got about 30% of 90% silver in the melt lasting from June of 1968 to October of 1969. Even after the 1968-1969 melt, 90% silver was still extremely common to find in almost every roll of dimes, quarters, and halves until the fall of 1979 when the Hunt Brothers started to manipulate the silver price heavily.
My LCS has some dimes and quarters, I bought all his Franklins and 64 JFK's., and 20 1964 Quarters that look BU. My daughter and her husband came with and made their first silver purchase. They spent $850ish today. A sealed roll of 2015 Eagles, a Panda, a Kook, a Maple, and 17 halves, a mix of Franklins and 64 JFK's. 90% was bought at 20 times face.
It just makes me crazy to see this much silver. I could roll around in it squealing like a baby! Congrats on your coin dealer letting you have a first crack at buying this much!
You did good on this hunt rob!!!! Keep it coming and I look forward to seeing more videos in the future. Absolutely love your channel and it's the first one I always look for when I do my coins
I am a little jealous concerning your silver dealer that puts aside older constitutional silver for you. It is so good to develop relationships in this work Thanks fot the session.
I have a wheat book almost completely filled from bulk purchases. Only missing the 09s VDB. I love these kinds of buys cause you never know what you’ll get. I’ve found 4 1931s!!
My set looks perfect. But I purposely bought only one set. Even though I bought two of the proof sets. I'm going to buy a PF-70 set. They have PF-70 Morgan and Peace dollars for $100 bucks each. They were $150 at first. The reverse proof sets are around $330. I'll wait till they come down to $300 or less, then I'll buy them. The MS-70's and PF-70's always do the best in the long run.
Nice set of Barber coins. I lucked ouf a couple of years ago and found a 1913 S Barber half dollar coin roll hunting and it was a ender. If memory serves me right the mintage was around 600k.
Ive been getting a good number of barber coins lately at 20x face filling out albums. Also got a deal in getting an old silver commemorative half for $9.
Nice bunch of silver coins! I checked a bag of pennies yesterday 10/28 and got 8 wheat pennies and I think it’s the first time I ever got the 1947 leaf Canadian penny and the 1947 no leaf penny in the same bunch.
I would love for you to do a video looking at the cost of the "coins by the pound" deals that a couple tubers are pushing at CoinsTV...it seems very expensive vs. P purchasing at a multiple of face like you do, someone was asking about this on the livestream Friday, so I know I am not the only one with questions on it.
Love your videos rob! I recently started searching rolls from my local banks if they will give me the rolls. I’ve found some cool stuff. I enjoy your videos a lot! I’ve become a coin freak, and your my favorite RUclipsr to watch, and learn from! Thank you again, and happy hunting!
Quite the silver purchase there. I don't collect coins in the numis or the full collection sense, so the old Barbers don't really grab me. I'd rather have a fat but entirely ordinary 1963 quarter, frankly, than a beat up Barber. But looks like you grabbed what pleases you, so congrats on your big haul!
Heya, i've watched your videos before, and i've heard you say you get things from your silver dealer, and i was wondering what a Silver Dealer is. I'm pretty curious because i've seen you get a LOT of stuff from your Silver Dealer. And How does your book work? I really like it, but i want to learn how it works before i buy one for myself. Have a great day/night and keep up the Collecting.
New to the channel. Sorry for the basic question but do you pay face value for the bags of dimes, quarters, and half dollars or do you pay what the coins would get with collectors? Keep up the cool videos!
Hey if you want to sell a few of the extras. I saw a few I need for my dansco. Here's the list I need. Lmk if you want to sell the ones you got in this video. I know I'm late a month lol but I figure I'd try. Thanks Rob. Love these videos! My favorite series I think. 1892o,s,93s,94o,95o,s,96o,s,97o,s,98o,s 99s,1900s,01o,s,02s,03s,05s,08s,11s,13 13s,14s,15s
I just like looking through old coins and stamps. It's just the jazz of their history. Most of the people who originally handled them are dead now. Old bank checks are cool too, I some from the 18th century. That stuff is so cool to look at. Very nice brother!! Remember G4 still have slightly worn rims, if the rims are gone G1.

Hi rob how are you
It still amazes me that there's still this much old silver floating around, especially after the Hunt brothers ran the price of silver up to $50 back in 1980 and people were melting everything
They say in the book "The Big Silver Melt" that they estimate 10% of the junk silver did survive. When I buy silver, I focus on Franklins and 1964 JFK's.
Far more than 10% survived. Several billion dollars in face value.
My guess would be around 20%, but who knows...I do know that the US government melted ungodly amounts in the late 60's.@@staleydu1
@@staleydu1Interesting that more than 10% survived. I know that the US government got about 30% of 90% silver in the melt lasting from June of 1968 to October of 1969. Rob: Major score! I love watching your videos! Cheers.
The constitutional hunts are some of my favorite
I always enjoy your hunt and fills. It wouldn’t matter if it was 45 minutes.
Whole lot of fun Rob, Barber Dimes made my mouth water LOL.... Happy Hunting, Stephen
My LCS has some dimes and quarters, I bought all his Franklins and 64 JFK's., and 20 1964 Quarters that look BU. My daughter and her husband came with and made their first silver purchase. Gotta love all them Barbers!! Fun!! Nice finds too!!
It just makes me crazy to see this much silver. I could roll around in it squealing like a baby! Congrats on your coin dealer letting you have a first crack at buying this much!

OMGOODNESS is right. Crazy Crazy. Awesome Barbers.😮😊❤Can't wait to see the SLQ's👀👀👀
Rob, as you recapped, the excitement in your voice was evident and came right through the video, nice hunt!

Awesome bags and finds, amazing that the rarer stuff is still out there in all types and denoms, just gotta keep "mining" LOL.
I have a wheat book almost completely filled from bulk purchases. Only missing the 09s VDB. I love these kinds of buys cause you never know what you’ll get. I’ve found 4 1931s!!
Same with only missing the 1909-S VDB.
Most enjoyable Rob!
Large constitutional silver purchase like that are always a fun hunt! And you had quite a few nice finds! Another great video!
Great silver purchase.
My set looks perfect. But I purposely bought only one set. Even though I bought two of the proof sets. I'm going to buy a PF-70 set. They have PF-70 Morgan and Peace dollars for $100 bucks each. Nice haul , always love finding constitutional silver to go through😀🇺🇸
Very nice pickup Rob! Love the older stuff! 👍
Nice set of Barber coins. I lucked ouf a couple of years ago and found a 1913 S Barber half dollar coin roll hunting and it was a ender. If memory serves me right the mintage was around 600k.
Nice coins friend.
Blessings
Wow! Some incredible finds in a junk silver lot! Thanks so much for including us in this adventure!
Always amazing what you search through. Can't wait to see the hoard of Buffalo coins.
i always eagerly await for the end of these "junk silver hunt" video's, hoping to see what the "yearly silver jar's" reaction might be.
Magnificent Rob!
Good stuff, Rob
Sweet pick up!
That was awesome!!!!!
My favourite Videos!
4:56 Barbra dimes are done. We'll talk about them in the recap .....😢❤
Dang it!! I noticed in editing I didn’t do that but already had them put away and couldn’t go back to add in the clip. Good eye brother…. I blew it.
Just got a 52 denver dime at Dunkin Donuts today. Never got silver in my change Rob🙌
Nice grab!
I got a 1944 mercury dime in my change at the record store recently.
Nice hunt and great finds in those junk lots Rob. Thanks for sharing. 😎👍
Very Nice!!!! i would love to get a set of those quartes from you!!!!
That's crazy! Only 17 coins from both denominations for all full set! That was an awesome video!
Right?!
Ive been getting a good number of barber coins lately at 20x face filling out albums. Also got a deal in getting an old silver commemorative half for $9.
Congratz for finding a Civil War dated 1861 Seated Liberty quarter which is in decent shape, possibly in VG condition!
Mind blowing 🎉
Wow! Wow!
good video mate
THAT BEING SAID, what an amazing silver pick up!
Awesome!!
Can't wait to get a chance at whatever you decide to auction up for these and the SLQ's !! Great hunt Rob!!
FWIT I wish this video was twice as long!
Love love love constitutional silver!
Epic finds Rob. Maybe sometime you could show us some of your best finds at the end of the year.
I have it planned. Been saving the clips of them.
Nice
Great lot!
Thanks!
Great Success-Borat
Nice bunch of silver coins! I checked a bag of pennies yesterday 10/28 and got 8 wheat pennies and I think it’s the first time I ever got the 1947 leaf Canadian penny and the 1947 no leaf penny in the same bunch.
Hello rob! I love this type of video a lot. Do you still do stuff on you gardening channel?
Some vids, but it's tough here in Texas... I grow stuff, just don't film as much.
Wow that's a lot of Barber's Rob, I don't get to see many here in the UK
I would love for you to do a video looking at the cost of the "coins by the pound" deals that a couple tubers are pushing at CoinsTV...it seems very expensive vs. P
purchasing at a multiple of face like you do, someone was asking about this on the livestream Friday, so I know I am not the only one with questions on it.
Great suggestion! I’ll have to see what they are charging since I never buy junk silver by the pound.
That's some serious silver
Nice grab I'm sure it wasn't cheap but still very nice lot
Love your videos rob! I recently started searching rolls from my local banks if they will give me the rolls. I’ve found some cool stuff. I enjoy your videos a lot! I’ve become a coin freak, and your my favorite RUclipsr to watch, and learn from! Thank you again, and happy hunting!
Rob I got my first graded coin today!
Nice!
I find the seated series to be both easy enough to find and cheap enough to acquire. Until you get into the big boys $1
that must have been a fun and expensive trip to your silver dealer
It was both indeed...
Epic hunt good sir, will any of these epic silver pieces be up for auction soon?
Likely brother. Thank you!
You lucky son of a gun. I wish I could buy that.
Thanks Rob. Best guess….. how long did this take to put together? What it took IS WORTH IT!!!! Thanks again
Hello! What are you doing after with the coins? Are you selling some of them? I’d be interested in buying!
New to the channel. Sorry for the basic question but do you pay face value for the bags of dimes, quarters, and half dollars or do you pay what the coins would get with collectors? Keep up the cool videos!

18th century ??? I didn’t know bank checks existed back in the 1700s.
I want to know how much you pay for bulk silver. Damn, what a haul!
