  • Running avoid high risk kerbs seem to cut your tyre degradation in half with little costs in terms of race time around Bahrain, the difference between running a S-S-M attack race vs a avoid high risk kerbs S-M attack was just 3 seconds for the Red Bull in free air.
    Have an example race here with Mercedes included, you can currently gain alot by taking advantage.

    By running avoid high risk kerbs we are basically able to cut tire wear in half, in terms of pace loss, over the course of 2 races running out infront with no contention, the difference in the two strategies (S-S-M Attack without kerbs vs S-M Attack with kerbs) was that kerbs was just 3 seconds slower, the tyre degradation though could be massive if you use it while staying within DRS of a faster car.
    After being made aware it doesn't work for everyone it seems to be combination of this setting with tyre temperatures that results in the 50% degradation change, if running them close to overheating it gets reduced to about 20%-30% degradation.

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  8 месяцев назад +1

      They will steadily decline until about 30% when they really start to massively lose performance, they lose a certain amount of pace each lap, if you go to circuit information -> compound performance you can see the data.

      @@NeroBax thank you so much! Yea it makes me wonder and when I should do a pit stop. Some times when I hits 50%, then I get taken over by someone with 60%. But some times I also see AI usually pitting around 35-40% range, so it makes me question when would be the optimal degradation to do a pit stop.
      Cheers mate! Awesome content!

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  8 месяцев назад +1

      Basically you want to run as agressive a strategy as you can, trying to avoid hitting the 30% mark. If you are running attack even if you are on worse tires you can have way better times than the AI.
      For me that has been working fairly well for my playtrough and saves, using the race planner to figure out the most aggresive strategy avaliable (Usually Med - Hard - Soft/Med). Aslong as your strategy has the best time in the race planner and your degradation during the race is not higher than expected you should be good.
      In this game the cars and the drivers matters quite a lot too, so you could get overtaken on fresh softs sometimes as a result.

      Research seems bugged at the moment which is making it quite difficult to figure out exactly how it works, the bug is that the sliders do not work, so in terms of research just focus on the parts hit by the regulations. There is not much to it but I will make a short video explaining it either today or tommorow.

    I worked in Qatar Japan for me so far and I have smoked the number one car Red bull but 30 seconds with a number two car Ferrari.
    This feels like a bug to me because I should not be able to beat the fastest car and the best stat driver for stomping with LeClerc by 30 seconds with no contest . 😅 It kind of makes my wins meaningless if the AI can't figure out what I'm doing in this simulation. Sainz won ahead of Verstappen by 14 seonds in Japan and Qatar aswell

  • @hdtube7

    Does this matter less on harder tyres? I’m just thinking if you’re on a one stop and there’s an early safety car, could you extend the life of hards to make it to the end without stopping if you use avoid kerbs while keeping normal pace, as opposed to conserve tyre pace

    How does running full attack effect powertrain wear?

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  10 месяцев назад +2

      It doesn't specifically say it has an effect, but since powertrain wear is linked to temperature, by pushing harder we will be putting more temperature into the powertrain, how much wear you get will depend on your engine cooling.

    • @NeroBax
      @NeroBax  10 месяцев назад +1

      Which track? As I have only tested this at Bahrain it could have less effect on other tracks. Seems to be a modifier that works with the heating, if the heating is kept within optimal levels tyre degradation remains close to 50% but as it gets closer to overheating it goes down to about 20% decrease. So tracks that causes overheat even with this setting it wont be as effective on.

      If you guys pay attention to your temperatures they do go cold even with you going aggressive on the tires so turn it off and on every three laps and you keep the temperatures within normal operating range but you get the performance. • @NeroBax

      It should since you aren't touching the kerbs. But depends on how it is implemented, if it is just modifiers to how the car behaves rather than fully implemented in the sim, you wouldn't see any changes but I would assume so, probably should have had a look at it but was more focused on the other implications of this.
