oof, one of those "watch once and never again" movies xO
This movie was a double feature with My Neighbor Totoro -- which means that people in Japan watched this movie and Totoro back to back.
Oh no, you started with this?!
I promise you, most Ghibli films aren't this dark!
Sadly I've read this story is based on a real story. The brother actually survived and wrote a short novel. The good news is the rest of the Studio Ghibli movies are very happy movies. So please don't get discouraged to watch those.
I cant believe you went with this one, I watched it once and lost it, it is a great story, it just rips your heart out.
Yeah this movie is still next-level tragic and sad. Even in this abridged version. Its funny how in some ways it feels more real than live-action sometimes. There is something to be said about the nuanced they chose to depict and how striking they are.
Oh wow .. For a long time this was and probably still is (Alongside Once Upon A Time In The West) my all time favourite movie. And that was after watching it the first time. It took me 6 years to come back and give it second watch. It's impossible to not have tears in your eyes with this movie. I love every Studio Ghibli movie, Princess Mononoke is the other masterpiece from this awesome studio. All the best Camilla 🤗
everyone don’t forget to check out her other channels her gaming channel and her movie channel and check out her twitch channel as well 🥺🙏
watched it 4 years ago for the first time; still not ready to watch it again
please everyone don’t forget to hit the like button and the share button and copy the link it helps kamilla a lot 🥺🙏
I went to the Ghibli Museum near Tokyo and they had illustrations from this film on display. It's a sad film for sure but beautifully made.
I am writing this to help out kamilla and this video and this channel with the algorithm 🥰
7:39 to answer your question kamilla the answer is no
Probably the single greatest argument ever made against war.
My all time best first and last animation is Grave of the fireflies". and for this girl i am so very emotion and i cry look like this two children is my children and after i like japan country after seen this animation.
at 0:00 chefs kiss 😘 🥰😍
Such a sad story. Thank you for taking the time to watch it. I look forward to the next one. May I suggest "Ghost in the Shell"(1995) ?
I hope she does 🥺
😭 Omg … from Totoro to this!?
… Porco Rosso Next! 🤦
In my mid-50s I find it impossible to hear a woman cry without breaking down myself. 😅 It’s kind of cathartic, actually … being human, needs reminding. 💋
That's how it was released on cinema in Japan, as a double feature. Which is wild.
これ、日本で公開された時は
隣のトトロ と一緒だった様な。
ジブリ、とんでもねぇ❗️
I watched it again, and guess what I cried more than first time
😬 It says a lot about fans of certain reaction channels when they choose to spectate reactions to heart-wrenching creations like Grave of the Fireflies, *twice.* Guess I'm one of those fans, lol! I didn't comment the first time around so I'll write one here: thanks for choosing such gripping works like this to react to. Eager to watch the Your Name and Weathering reactions again when they make their way here as well! I'm happy this channel means more anime movies from Centane 😄 Suzume and A Silent Voice and sooo many more to come!
OMGGGG DOCTOR!!! I actually watched A Silent Voice last night 😭😭😭😭😭
@@CentaneAnime AAAAAHH I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE YOUR REACTION!!! 🤩🤩🤩

Film critic Roger Ebert - Grave of The Fireflies
I hated this aunt when I was a child. She was mean... But watching this movie again as an adult, I realize that this aunt was actually quite tolerant for the time. Seita was 15 years old, an age at which he would typically be working, especially during wartime. Moreover, as mentioned in the movie, Seita’s father was a high-ranking naval officer, making Seita's family notably affluent compared to others. Seita probably never had to work, even during the war. He likely couldn't understand why his aunt treated him in a way that seemed mean to him. Instead of attending military school, he stayed home playing (while taking care of his sister, but realistically, if they had stayed at the aunt's house, Setsuko would have had a much higher chance of surviving). Furthermore, his pride as the son of a naval officer likely led him to leave his aunt's house. While I believe the aunt should have kept them if she truly cared, in any case, it was the war that was to blame.
Love it’s
You might want to try something more light hearted, one movie I liked was Summer Wars, another depressing one but with a great message and a happy ending is A Silent Voice.
I'm leave a like and suscribe, but i'm sorry, i can't watch this film again in my life. I was devastating during one week after watch this. One of the best films that i ever watched, but never again. Hope you watch more anime.
Oh my God and several crying emojis 😢😢 is all I gotta say
As per an anime movie, this one is not bad, but not among my favorites tho. One of my favorites is "Nausicaa and The Valley of The Wind", thus my recommendation.👾
I love Nausicaa, it's a fantastic eco-world
This is actually a reupload, isn't it?.. Because if I remember correctly, I've seen this reaction of yours a long time ago. Nevertheless, I'm glad you did the reaction. 🙂🙏
Yes ☺️ reposting all my anime reactions from main channel to here so I have them all one place if people haven't seen them before 🩷 easier for the anime fans 🎉
I hope there comes a time a war will be a forgotten concept, but I am afraid we can only make this happen one way - by becoming a forgotten concept ourselves.
11 minutes for a movie From 1h I’m surprised TF
This was one of my first reactions that I recorded 3 years ago ☺️ Copyright rules were different back then but decided to still post the video here as well ☺️
damn it I am late again 🥺🤦
