It's a point and shoot camera it's all automatic. The ISO is rated at 200 just to make sure that I overexpose the film. But I developed the film as normal at 400.
@@AbdullahChakmakchi Amazing. Thanks for the response. This is very helpful! 😎 Would love to see more content on the Minolta Hi-Matic AF2. It’s a very popular camera because of Ricky Powell who shot all of the early Hip-Hop stuff like Beastie Boys and Run DMC. I googled it and came across your video. Thanks again!
Hello, very good video, recently I have a similar camera and I am anxious to try it, I could notice that you obtained 37 photographs of the roll, even so considering that when the roll is inserted you have to pull the handle 3 times so that the indicator is put on 1, right?
You can get up to 39 frames. One will be half a frame aka first of the roll. Just have to move the film 2 times and shoot the 3 one. It also depends on the film stock how many extras you can get. The maximum I got was 39 frames. The camera is really good for its age plus it's a really sharp lens.
I just picked up one of these and seeing the photos you got from it makes me excited! I’m curious about your choice to overexpose with the iso, is that just a stylistic choice or have you found it necessary for this camera in order to get decent pictures?
Very good question. It not just for this camera I use it for film photography in general. I make sure I over exposure the film. it's the opposite with digital with under exposure. Plus it can also be a creative choice. Over exposure with film can help you edit the shots in post a lot easier. Colour/BW negatives can handle over exposure very well. You can go over by a few stops and still have the details in the highlights. But I still develop the film at box speed that doesn't change. The Minolta Hi-Matic AF2 is such an amazing camera to use.
@@AbdullahChakmakchi Wow, thanks for the detailed response. This is exactly the kind of info I was hoping for, I appreciate your insight. I'm just dipping my toe into film for the first time after shooting digital for a while. There's so much to learn, but I'm excited!
No thank you. I know I am still learning myself. Another tip is invest in a light meter plus always try and meter for the shadows or mid tones which will help. Feel free to email me or drop me a DM on Instagram if you have more questions I am willing to help out.
The quality of the images are amazing. The flash works on mine. You have to pop it open with the switch and wait for the green light to come on and it's ready to shoot.
Look bro the fact that you just took a photo of a homeless person and didn't give them a few bucks is kinda fucked up in my eyes. I get that your not obligated to but it would be nice when you take their photo with out consent to give em a dollar or two. Other than that you have a very interesting way of composing photos simple yet effective.
Love seeing all those peopleee in the photos
Thank you 🙏
Nice! Love the music too.
Thank you
Great shots! Love it !
Thank you 🙏
Amazing shots! What light meter do you recommend? Also, what was your ISO setting for these shots. I’m having trouble dialing mine in. Any pointers?

Hi, did you use flash? I am planning to buy one but the flash isn't working. I just would like to know if it's still worth buying.

Hi! Did you said to the lab that your developed at that you pulled the film in one stop or is it unnecessary?
I shot this at 200 and got it developed at box speed 400. You don't need to say anything to the lab if you're doing that
What camera was used to shoot this video?
Minolta Hi-Matic AF2
For the video was on a GoPro Hero 8 Black

Totally understand what you are saying. Most of the time I don't have cash on me. Thank you though for your comment.
