Hubby use to work in this area when he was a cable installer.about 20 years ago..home office was in Hickory..Charter cable. We will have to plan on attending this festival next year. Thanks for sharing😊
I was watching this before lunch and that pizza really made me hungry. That is a pretty neat museum. The younger generation wouldn’t know how to work that telephone, lol
It was great to see your hometown!! I love the history of older towns and taking a look around at hometown America. Love the history of the buildings still standing and what they originally were. Thank You for sharing it with us😊 love you have a time capsule and the fact that our flag on the moon was made in Granite Falls🇺🇲 Sincerely, Shays Ways
It was great seeing your hometown. I really enjoyed seeing where you live. Thank you for sharing your town with us. I loved the vintage soda machines. I remember getting soda bottles out of a machine like that. It brought back great memories. I remember cheeywine, rc cola and all those sodas. I love these small town festivals.
Very cool place with the drink machines. Just some friendly advice. I wouldn’t post where my wife works on a video. It’s a crazy world. Y’all take care
That is true, but the thing is, people know her name. And it's already out there and easily accessible information. But you're not wrong. It's just that she's already mentioned it before herself, in several videos. I guess the good thing is, it's right there next to the police department.
You mentioned in your video that one of the businesses used to be Giovanni Pizza. Was that a local restaurant or the chain with the pizza guy in the G of their logo?
I don't know how widespread it was, but there were several in this area, in various surrounding towns. I don't necessarily remember the logo, because we are talking about 30+ years ago since it was there. And we've had a few in other towns that have only closed down within the last decade or so. So yes, it was a chain. But I don't know how widespread it was, or if it was unique to this area. I knew about 4 other locations.
@@NCMemoryMakers I am originally from a small town in Ohio which is right across the bridge from Kentucky. I have lived in TN for many years now but my hometown and the surrounding area has Giovannis and it is my absolute favorite pizza ever! I have it every time I go home to visit my parents! I crave it all the time!
I have not personally met him, but I walked right by him when he was signing his new CD in our local Walmart one day. He was seated at a table, and I walked by. He nodded at me, and I nodded back. My wife and he were in the same grade, but did not know each other very well.
That's a shame, having to work on a Saturday, and such a pretty one. The festival went well. I was probably uptown for about an hour, but she had to work it for 4 hours, going around taking pictures.
Festival lovers did you know... The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life throught Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 God demonstrates his own love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 Believe and repent today! The consequences are eternal.
There was, in fact, a preacher of the Gospel on the street that day when we first arrived. But by the time we got back up to where he was so that I could put him in the video, he had left.
You are very welcome. Yes, those machines really bring back some memories, and they had a lot of them. Thanks so much for watching, and for your comment.
I can’t believe how many machines they have. Neat to see all those old ones. Brought back some memories as I’m 78. Thank you
You are very welcome.
I love that it says In God We Trust on the Town Building . What a nice little town. I love small towns. I am a country guy for sure.
Yes, we like that, as well. In surprised somebody hasn't complained about it, but glad it's there.

Have you ever met Eric Church?

I had to work or I would have been there 😢
