- In this video, we are featuring a local BBQ Smokehouse, called JD's.
JD's Smokehouse BBQ has 2 locations. The original location is in Rutherford College, NC, conveniently located just off of Interstate 40, at Exit 113. Simply head north once you exit off of Interstate 40, go straight through the intersection, and JD's will be on your right, just past the church.
It's newest location (this video), is on Highway 18 (Morganton Blvd), just south of Lenoir, NC.

Yes, I sure did just about talk myself into a rough evening...Lol. I actually wasn't thinking about the banana pudding she had just made, but then it hit me when I said it, that she made one about 2-3 weeks back. I was thinking in terms of banana pudding in restaurants, but thankfully, she understood what I meant. Hers was really good, too.
Great video. We couldn't believe the amount of food we got when we ate at the one in Connelly Springs. Everything we got was delicious. If we're ever there again I'll have to get the banana pudding. Most of the time restaurant banana pudding isn't all that good. We thought the roll was very good.

Hello from a brand-new subscriber. I stumbled upon your channel a few days ago when looking for reviews on Dairi-o restaurant and your review was for the exact same restaurant location I would be trying. I looked over your library of videos and I think your channel is perfect for me and my husband. We just moved from California (actually right when covid started) and due to that and some health issues we have not seen or done much. We have never been in NC before, don't know anyone that lives here and need to get to know the area/surrounding areas better with things we can see and do. I think one day I am going to make something to eat and sit down and prepare to binge watch your videos, so please forgive me if I comment and/or have questions on your older videos. Take care, thanks for sharing and keep them coming, we are eager to start exploring the area/state and possibly surrounding states. My husband says it's not too far to South Carolina, Tennesse and Virgina (I think those are the ones he mentioned).

Your husband is correct, that you are not very far from TN, SC, and VA. You are in a very nice part of NC, as it is very close to the mountains, and only about 4 hours from the beach.

Ray Nathan’s in Gastonia off South New Hope Road has gotten rave reviews from day one. They opened up 4 years ago..we will be having lunch there tomorrow..I’m going to try the pork/brisket combo. Haven’t had brisket since the mid 80’s. Check out their menu -:)

I love the banana pudding, so I'd have to say that is my favorite.
@NCMemoryMakers I'm pretty hung up on the sweet potatoes crunch and jalapeño cheese grits. I swear tho one day I'm going there and ordering all the sides lol

Question regarding the banana pudding... Was it actual layers of banana alternating with vanilla wafers , covered with cooked vanilla pudding?
It was not alternating layers. As far as it being cooked, I have no idea.

I'm honestly not sure. I've never gotten it. Shawnasi thinks it is one of those chocolate/oatmeal cookies, that some call "boiled cookies", or "no bake cookies". I'll have to ask when we go back.

Your not gonna believe this but I was going to ask yall if yall had been here before ! I saw it on Google maps the other day . The one I saw was the one near I-40 though.
This is actually the first time we've tried this one, but we have eaten at the other location several times. I personally like this new location better. But the other one is good, too.
