I've been watching your reviews for some time now and thoroughly enjoy them. Also what a beautiful part of the world you live in. I envy you that. Keep up the good work! Jimmy in Dublin, Ireland.
We have never been to Bryson City before. The restaurant looked liked a nice place. If we were to go here we would probably get a pizza. We love pizza and normally order pizza at an Italian place. The town looked like a nice place. I agree with you about the menu needs to tell you what all is in a dish. Some folks might not can eat certain things and they need to know before they order it. Thanks for sharing this place with us. Have a great weekend!
Thank you for watching and for commenting. I believe you would love Bryson City. I don't know if you have ever been to Maggie Valley/Waynesville, but that is another favorite of ours. Much more laid-back than the Tennessee side. I think their pizzas are all the 7-inch personal sized ones, which works out for Shawnasi and me, because we don't usually get the same toppings unless we are sharing a pizza. That kind of frees us up to each get what we like. The pizzas looked really good.
Yeah, my stepdad was an Italian from Queens. I know there are a lot of great places up in that area. But I will say that this owner was an Italian if I've ever seen one. I even suspect he's from Italy, by the way he talked.
We went there last year and we’re going back this year. I had the lasagna and it was the best I’d ever had. My husband had the tortellini and his was also fantastic. Also I believe they make all their salad dressings. I love the red onion on my salad so I was really happy. I agree that most locals eat there regularly as we met quite a few when we were there. The owner was a really nice guy with a lot of personality! A huge line when we went there for dinner but the wait wasn’t too long and it was worth it. We are from Fort Lauderdale and close to many great restaurants but this place felt so authentic. Plus the prices were really reasonable.
The owner was a very nice guy. So glad you got to go there, and that you had a very good experience. You say you are from Ft. Lauderdale. Have you ever eaten at The Rustic Inn? We ate there back in 2014, and I actually thought the ribs were some of the best I've ever had. I know it is a seafood place, but their ribs are outstanding.
Great video, wanted to tell you that BJ's Diner in Cherokee was closed, so I will try again in the spring😞. Was there Oct. 15, 16 17. Peter's Pancake was packed and the wait long Monday morning. Heard others talking about snow toward Gatlinburg area on Sunday evening, none in Cherokee.. The leaves were beautiful even with the wind, cold, rain🙂Thanks for your review on the Italian restaurant in Bryson City, always wanted to go in there and try a meal😊 Sincerely, Sharon and Family
You are very welcome. I'm sorry that you didn't get to try BJ's, and that Peter's was so crowded. When we drove by Peter's yesterday morning, there were cars parked in the parking lot of the neighboring places, just to eat there. The snow was not in Gatlinburg. It was actually at the top of the Smokies, around Mount Leconte, Clingmans Dome, and Newfound Gap. Once you got into the lower elevations, it was rain.
From a local -- the owner Paqual is from Spain. -- He has chosen to not make changes to the menu and ambiance since he opened the doors (in that location) about 16 years ago.
@@NCMemoryMakers YEP -- That is Pasqual. Have been watching your videos for a little bit but never have left a comment you are very honest and your food reviews I heard you mention that you started to Maggie valley well I am here this weekend in Maggie valley it is real pretty down here right now look forward two more of y'all's videos take care
Yes, I just posted the video a little while ago, of our Fall leaf update, and some of that was shot around Maggie Valley. It is beautiful there right now. Thank you for commenting and for watching, and we are glad you enjoy our videos.
Enjoyed the video guys. Glad y’all met some of y’all’s followers, it’s good to put a face with a name from your comments. We enjoy visiting Bryson City but we’ve never eaten there before. For me, If I’m gonna eat Italian food I normally stick with pizza, lasagna or spaghetti. I’m like you brother ain’t gonna be eaten no crunchy onions in my salad either lol. 👍🏻🙌🏻😋😋
I hear you. I at least would like them to list it on the menu, so that I can know what's in it and get something else, or at least request that they not put that in mine. I was very surprised, to say the least. I would definitely get their pizza. It did look good.
Thanks for sharing 👍 I don’t blame you for getting upset about the guy cussing out loud at the Mexican restaurant, I can’t stand hearing that when I’m out trying to have a nice time either.
I agree! He was very loud, and Not only was he cussing, but he also said out loud that he wanted to slap a little boy in the face for screaming. The boy screamed 1 time, but this guy cussed for about 30 minutes.
@@dieselwrench3621 Yes, but let me clarify. It wasn't his child. It was another child who was with his family, that screamed. The guy in the booth behind us, said very loudly..."Shut that kid up!". Then, he used a few choice words, and said he would like to slap the kid in the face. For the next 30 minutes, we listened to him talk and use profanity after profanity, even after he calmed down about the child. He had a very loud talking voice, and you could hear every word. When I confronted him, the child's dad came over as well, to confront him.
Another great restaurant review and love the honest feedback you give. I would give it another try since some places are hit and miss on some menu items. Hope both of you have a great weekend and safe travels.
We were in bryson city for anniversary. Back in may. We almost ate there. But we went somewhere else. And you're right you need to know what's in it sometimes. You may be allergic to it
I agree with you Derrick, they should list what is in each entree entirely. If they even had pics of the entrees that would help too. Definitely puzzled at why the shrimp wasn't BLACKENED also? Food looked good otherwise, especially Shawnasi's choice! Great, honest review as always!!
@carsonroyal3519 What is? This review is going on a year old. I don't really have time to re-watch it and see what it is you're referring to. Can you be more specific?
Yeah, we'll do that. We'll throw a few things together and head out in a few minutes, for the 675 mile drive to New York City...just to eat Italian food. My stepfather was a New Yorker who was Italian. I know about Italian food. We actually didn't go to Bryson City for Italian food. We went up there because we were headed up there anyway, and just so happened to eat Italian food when we were there.
@@NCMemoryMakers sir I didn't say you didn't. Maybe I should've worded it differently. In other words if you have time maybe you two could see NYC soon and have some good Italian food while you're there. A little better? Apologies for the confusion
Thank you for the clarification and the apology. No worries. Yes, if we are able to get back up that way, we would most definitely want to eat Italian food, since there are so many great options up there for that. In fact, last time we were there, we ate Italian food somewhere in Manhattan, even though I can't recall the name of the place. It was in 2001. We were with my stepfather on that particular trip, in fact. My point about Bryson City, is that we were already there visiting the mountains, and got hungry. Some people had said this place was good, so we tried it. We weren't there specifically to find Italian food. It was sort of a spur-of-the-moment decision. That is the point I was making. Anyway, sorry for the confusion. Thank you for watching and for clarifying.
We ate there years ago and it was the best Italian food I ever had. Lasagna was the bomb.
Yeah, she enjoyed hers, and I would love to try the pizza next time. It really looked good.

For me an Italian place needs to have baked clams to be authentic and garlic knots. lol Unless its just a pizzeria.
I didn't see garlic knots, and I never even thought about baked clams.
