    We love the freedom that our SoftStartRV products have given us to RV where we want with the ability to run our A/Cs. The fact that the industry leader in RV soft start products continues to find ways to improve their product speaks volumes about their commitment to quality and innovation. If you don't have a SoftStartRV product on your a/c it's time to take another look. If you already have them on your RV, let us know how they've changed how you RV.

    Great video!!!! I just installed two of them yesterday, super easy, very straight forward. I had the larger ones (purchased over the winter - they had a sale / promo code). Installed on a Coleman Mach III 15k and a 13.5k. The mounting for the 15k was a little tight but doable. The 13.5k had plenty of room. The new smaller box/system looks great!!! They work awesome!!!

    Great product. I installed one this week. It is small enough that it fits inside the compartment with the capacitors. I cut back the wires and used blue nylon insulated 16 Ga crimp quick connects. No need to feed any wires out of the cabinet. The Yellow non-insulated supplied crimp connectors are the wrong size for the wire. Don't use them. Get the next size down at an auto parts store.

    Ordered the product on Saturday received the Sunday morning before 8:00 am. Easy to set up, easy to run, noise level was very manageable and not an hindrance or annoying to be around. Very good generator, I like to remote start plus it has a pull chord. Dual fuel was a must and easy to hook up and switch.

They have an awesome customer service team (all U.S. based) and would be able to answer that question for you. Good luck and happy camping.

    Are both of your A/C's 15,000 BTU? I noticed in the backgroud it looks like you're using a Champion 3400 Watt generator? Is that correct? I'd love to know more about the generator you're running and how many BTU's your A/C's are. I currently have two Coleman Mach 15 A/C's on my rig and I have a champion 3500 watt generator. Trying to figure out if I need another generator or if I'll be able to get away with my current setup but with two soft start ac's. Any info would be much appreciated!

    • @HintonTheTrail
      @HintonTheTrail  2 года назад

      We have two 15K a/c units (one Coleman Mach 15 and one Coleman Mach 8). The generator we have is the Champion Dual Fuel 3400 and we've been able to start and run both a/c units. We really have to manage the power though and not run anything else (microwave, etc.). We even free up a little power by switching the hot water tank and fridge over to propane. If we need to run other stuff we'll turn off one a/c unit until we're done. We considered going to a larger generator so we wouldn't have to worry about running other things but the $$ can be prohibitive. In the end, our setup worked for us. Hope this helps. -Chris

    • @HintonTheTrail
      @HintonTheTrail  2 года назад +1

      You could run one A/C off of a regular household outlet. We would caution that you don’t run anything else when doing it. You don’t want to overtax your electrical system. But yes, based on standard a/c power requirements and the SoftStartRV data you could run one. We’ve done it before as well.

    The one major issue, a Honda 2200 (15 amp) will not sustain running a 13,500 Dometic longer than 5 minutes. A real disappointment considering I purchased it with the assurance it would run on my 2200 generator. The instructions were vague at best but I will say the start up is noticeably easier on shore power. I probably would not have purchased and paid for install knowing this.

    • @HintonTheTrail
      @HintonTheTrail  2 года назад

      Are you running other appliances along with the a/c? Hot water tank, etc? The SoftStartRV tops out at 13 amps (most we've seen) to start our 15K Coleman Mach 15. We've run that main a/c on our 41-ft fifth wheel on a 15-amp residential plug for a few hours straight but we had to ensure everything else was off.
