Max just gets the power down so much faster. He has complete confidence in that car.
its the constantine efffect, when the speed increases the distance increases. So whoever is it in front it pulls away. And on the brakes viceversa, the one behind closes in (in distance, tho the time gap might remain the same).

@@AdiBacea concertina* is real but what he says is also true. He takes longer to brake and gets a better exit. If you time the car placement at around 44 seconds, from the start of the braking zone to reaching mid corner (im using the 12th red kerb square from left to right as reference) Max takes 3.5 seconds from start braking to mid corner. Oscars is 2.234 seconds.
By the time they both reach the exit kerb, their time in the corner is equal at around 5 seconds. Max loses a second on entry and gains a second on exit which compounds all the way down the straight.

I get what you’re saying but what we’re seeing here is so much more than that. If it were all concertina effect, Max wouldn’t have more of a lead at the end of the lap than at the beginning.

just learn the track layouts already bro - it's easy
yeah just 23 tracks with evolving layouts that you see 2 times a year on the tv screen. During the race you mostly see outboard shots of the cars. I was super lost always until i played the game and had to learn all the tracks, And even then it sometimes looks weird from the outside.@@jkomno5809

Traction out of the hairpin and final chicane in crazy. Gentle on the brakes, lower corner speed, less degradation and ultimate exit is peak RB19.
Not bad, but main time was gained in S1.

Max is unreal at this track. But I love that Piastri managed to bag P2. I think Piastri does really well at these traditional drivers' circuits. Very smooth car control through the high speed corner sequences. Amazing job to overcome Lando Norris in quali trim. I hope Oscar gets his maiden podium (or win) tomorrow
RB19 glued to the track and MAX positioning it perfectly not only the corner he is taking but the next one or the straight. He is a part of this car-like harmonious relationship where both understand each other to the core. We are witnessing a phenomenal driver-car harmony that will break and create records that cannot be broken for a long time.

Max shows why he is special in some key corners, but Piastri shows he can hold his own and make up a little bit of time on other parts of the track.

The forst sector is outstanding. Who knows Suzuka is aware that is the most incredible and difficult set of corners maybe of all season. He destroy all there. Amazing.
That 1st sector is pure class from Max and Red Bull, great driver and fantastic aerodynamics.

Max gained all that 0.5 seconds right at section 1, Oscar actually keeps with max for the rest of the lap

Something to keep in mind, Max finished 20 seconds ahead of P2...but that was a "cruising" 20 seconds. What needs to be asked is how far ahead he COULD have finished if given free rein, like he will be AFTER he locks in the WDC, presumably in Qatar.
There is little doubt, at least in my mind, that in one race he will allowed to let loose and show what the '19, soon to be RB20, actually has in store.

You have to take Max out of the qualifying and race because he is just in a league of his own. Then Piastri's pole lap is even more impressive considering he is still a rookie. McLaren comeback is impressive as well.
The Mclaren is a really good car but the only downside is its a very draggy car.

Hey, it would be great to know what exactly makes the difference between the top runners and the bottom of the field. It would be cool to see a comparison between Alfa Romeo and McLaren for example. Q1 vs Q3 when they are bot pushing to the absolute limit. Is it the corner entry? Is it the exit? Is it the minimum speed in the corners? Is it all of them equally? You tell us!

He could get back on the power so much earlier. I wonder if piastri slowed his entry speed down a little if he'd be able to cut into some of that advantage max gets on corner exit.

These videos are great, but for them to be just perfect, I think they'd need live speed, a minimap of the track to see where the cars are, and a few comments of every relevant event

it's also funny how max does nothing with the car and the car is on auto pilot. difference in racing lines on some corners are quite significant, it is great that the car and newey can drive like that. it is also funny how newey only built one car for the team and the other is taken from alpha tauri. oh wait.

RB had to heighten their ride height because of the bumpy nature of the track. They already warned beforehand that Singapore would not be great for them

Give Piastri a break. Max is in a faster car, and Piastri is driving the most demanding track in F1 for the first time. Piastri is a future world champ if he gets the right car.
Im a max fan but realistic view is here theres no way you can be 0.6 second faster if the cars are almost the same. So the car speeks also for it self. No doupt he is also a genius in driving. Iracing skills shows definitly that he can be the fastet also with the exact same car, but not with this big gap
Not "almost" the same, they are exactly the same. Ever heard of set-up? That's done by the engineer(s) but based upon the feedback of the driver. Max is really good at giving the best feedback. That's what makes the difference...
So basically Max had the chicane and last corner better other than that Piastri was with him, very impressive like a Rookie in a McLaren getting that close to this rocket ship of a RB with a Prime Max Verstappen is mental really, let's hope Piastri or Norris can fight Max!
