What all the handheld owners wanted was higher performance (10FPS+) around 12-18W spec with atleast 80 W battery so we can game on the go... even this generation will not compete to the Nintendo Switch... Now to spec the perfect handheld below, stay with me: *2 USB-C ports *1 HDMI (for easy docking to TV without hassle or HDMI charger dock like Asus Rog) *80W battery (actual duration around 3-4 h on 18W) *7" - 8" OLED or IPS VRR (depending on price) *Hall effect triggers *Ergonomic grip or atleast offer a XL grip for us adults without midget fingers *32 GB RAM *1TB+ (various storage options) *500+ native NITS + HDR (1000 Nits) *1080P - 1600 P (higher is only good for using as a main computer docked due to power restrictions) *Latest WIFI *3.5 mm jack *Custom skins/wraps *Swappable battery Thats it, i think I got all my thoughts of what I wanted on a handheld, take care gamers!
Imo I don't see the need for resolutions higher than 1080P. As. Matter of fact 1080P alone is a bit too much. Why not a low res screen 800-900P so as to get even more performance??
I don't need a 12-18 watt console. I don't need games from the "family world" series. I need my PC games with good FPS. Not graphics, but FPS. And autonomy for several hours is more than enough for me. And yes - 1080p is too hight for that screens. 720-900p is more then enought And among Ninka's games, the only one I'm interested in is Zelda. Nothing more at all.
"Even this generation cannot compete [with] the Nintendo Switch [2]." 😂 Lol no that's wrong. You think they're going to use the latest process node like the 890m? That's so funny.
@@wardan149this might be something to look into. I've tried out gpd win mini (7840u 18w clamshell handheld) pairing with a gpd g1 (7600m) egpu. Been using lossless (software on steam) frame generation where the prefer graphic set to the 780m (7840u IGPU) while the games Im currently playing uses the egpu. Tldr: frame generation: IGPU, game :EGPU It's interesting since the frame generation is done by the IGPU which doesn't conflict with the resources on the egpu. Don't need to downscale resolution or graphics since all the utilization is still being used by the egpu. With a single graphic card frame generation and game shares utilization so usually you need to downscale or tweak settings. Downside is it still usb4 speed so bandwidth doesn't draw out the full performance of the GPU and you do take a small hit on CPU clock speed by 100-200mhz while using the IGPU for FG
Nice bump in performance - but device itself is bad - no VRR, small battery, expensive. Let's wait until big companies will make it right. Ally 2? LenovoGO?
Expensive as hell. The question is can this run native 1600p, since multiple current gen devices have 1600p displays but the 7,000/8000 series chips can’t really actually run 1600p natively. Except, since we are moving on to OLED now, we’ll likely never even find out anyway. The irony. lool. Nobody is putting this into a 2.5 k OLED display. You couldn’t afford to buy that unless you found some sunken pirate treasure at the bottom of the ocean
@@edwardlashley3572 No it can't. It struggles with 1080p on high settings (or even low sometimes) re modern AAA games anyway. Just tried FF16, Mechwarrior 5 Clans.
Double the price for 10 frames more not worth it. Also keep in mind we won’t see a big jump with these apu until ddr6 ram become a thing. Rog Ally x way better deal and during black Friday it was 100 dollars off.
+10fps on low 1%/low 0.1% is probably even more important than the higher average. Raising the FPS floor should help smooth out the experience immensely.
My ideal pc handheld is like this: ROG ALLY X but has feature to run games smooth 60 fps in 2k utilizing external desktop gpu efficiently. Maybe they should make cheaper version of rog XG utilizing desktop gpu.
Yes, you can. People often don’t realize there’s a big difference between watching a RUclips video and actually using the device yourself. RUclips videos are limited to 60 frames per second (fps), and most screens on devices you’re watching from are also capped at 60fps. This means you physically can’t see anything beyond that limit while watching a video, even if the device in real life can perform better.

Much better than ally
The. Est is coming with steam deck 2 with Nvidia chip
The screen alone makes it worth it.

looks great! Cant wait to see Intel Lunar Lake against this once it goes into handhelds
How does it perform at 15w?
Crazy that my S16 laptop can't even cool the 890m enough at max fan speed to run at 30W (can only do 28), but a handheld can....
Can’t wait for steam deck 2
Ai 9 HX 370 is monster
Thanks ,actually decent boost

I just want dead space and RE4 remakes running at 60+ FPS at 1080p and I will buy the oled version!
Many thanks 😊
You're welcome 😊
radeon 890m only seems to compete with rtx 3050 mobile with 75 to 60 watts only
battery life?
In my opinion its to big price... Greeat performance, but small battery, and 1339$ for 32gb and 1tb ssd.
Can you run them at 720p?
I would hope it would perform better for $500 more lol!

Cant see any different with the naked eye...🤷🏻♂️

I orderd pro verson
me too feel grate paying 1600 us. for this sweet BEAST
Onexfly basically bakes and roast ally lol
Who the fuck needs 144hz and more than 1080p on a gaming handheld??? Save this money for a bigger battery 🤦♂️
Even 720p either upscaled or sharpened is more than sufficient on such a tiny screen anyway.
@@花XOI we need an steamdeck 2 with bigger battery and less screen bazels or an ally x with OLED, not all this crap lcd ips 50w battery big bazels....
Not that much better for 50% higher price not worth it wait for RDNA 4.0
NB
Same consumption but 20% more horsepower😅😅😅
Every fps count when playing on a handheld
@@horticultural261agreed even a 10fps difference can be very significant.
Going from 20-25fps and stuttering to a consistent 30fps is a godsend
Ally looks like a small kid Infront of this lol
