This tutorial will show you how to remove or change password of your or any local account on windows 10/8. how to use the net user command to remove the user password at a Windows command prompt. Only administrators can change domain passwords at the Windows command prompt. windows 10 password reset windows 10 password remove.
To remove a user's password at the command prompt, log on as an administrator and type:
1- type net user and press enter, find your username
2- type net user (your username) * and press enter
3- When you are prompted to type a password for the user, press enter.
4- The system prompts you to retype the password to confirm, press enter.
The password is now removed.

Please note: Non-administrators receive a "System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied" error message when they attempt to change the password.

This isn't any good if you don't know the admin password first
You can do that by pressing shift +f8

To remove your administrator password you can skip all the other steps. Simply go to change password and when it asks you for a new password don't fill in anything, just press next and it will automatically remove your password. That simple!

you dont need to do all this .first go to the step at 0:26 whrite your password and then when it will ask you to add a new password let the box empty and save the changes. so simple!!!

can this work on windows 8 and... are you using you're admin acc to remove the pass? bcoz my problem is I forgot my admin pass acc. So do I have to use another user account or is possible to remove the admin acc pass by using a local acc?

all of you having this error as i was there you go (The system is not authoritative for the specified account and therefore cannot complete the operation. Please retry the operation using the provider associated with this account. If this is an online provider please use the provider's online site.
Solution
1 go to settings
2 account
3 go to signing with a local account instead (set that up.. SET A LOCAL ACOUNT WISH IS OPOSITE TO USE EMAIL ADRESS TO SIGN IN) create a new user and new password
4 restart computer sign-in with new user and password
5 now you'll be ready to follow the video up... it worked for me.

It's so unfair. I worked hard to save up for a new laptop, 2 months, and when I got it I was finally free from the administer password on my old laptop. When you were in the sign in option, i could not change the 'require sign in' to never it would just be blank and when i opened the cmd and had to press enter 2 times that didnt work either :(

I tried doing this but doesn't work but if I try:
Opening the Windows PowerShell (Admin)
using the command: net user administrator *
and tried entering it 2 times and it worked.

another solution is - this works only in win10 pro only right click this
pc go to manage there go to local users and groups click it go to users
now appears administrator right click go to properties and click set password you can create new password without knowing old one 100% working only in win10 pro

I have finally realized after spending over three days, 12+ hours each day that the only reason everything through the internet and on RUclips isn't helpful to me. It's not any of you. It's HP, none of the screens and options shown or described are in anyway close to the way my HP Pavilion Laptop's version of Window's 10 looks. I can only surmise that this is a Hewlett Packard purposefully manipulated version. This seems especially true when I am told by a tech from HP that the only way to recover my administrator password is by paying them $99.99 for them to recover my password for me. I officially hate HP. I was blaming Windows the whole time, but eventually it hit me. this is all about Hewlett Packard trying to exploit everyone who is not tech savvy enough to know to avoid all HP products. I even have an HP printer, scanner, copier. The shame and disappointment are crushing. My online business is in Big Trouble unless the Geek Squad at Best Buy, where I purchased my Laptop can correct the problem for me. Thanks for trying. It's not you, it's not Window's 10, it's HP.
