They should start races from smoother surface

They should prep the whole surface or just keep the road smooth

All the guys are trying to lighten the mood and make you not feel so bad about it, but I feel for you in the moment... even with their effort, I'd be right there with you, not happy about being at the wheel when it broke. It's too special of a car to joke about it breaking, let alone being the one at the helm. Glad it's not worst case scenario problem.
Love the edits Brooks, the dialogue and race were too on point not to tie it together. As ridiculously great as the LaFerrari sounds I love the interior sound of the P1, all the induction, turbo noise and exhaust create an interesting symphony.

Honda Civic axles used to cost me $67. and I could pop it in and out with a jack and hand tools. $15 grand made me laugh for a second. Not saying I wouldn't love the opportunity to drive these cars. But to play you have to pay. I could say my love for domestic cars has me feeling the new Z06 as a possible race in the near future? Keep putting awesome races like this together. Can't help but think the launch part of the track looked to be very rough so it looked to me like the P1 unloaded the tires with the bouncing and then when it caught it caused the breakage.

The cost to just run a Top Fuel dragster _per pass_ is around $10k including the burnout without anything breaking. So $15k for the P1 after 8 years or so ain't no big deal compared to a 'real' drag car.

Yeah but it's designed to be the weakest "point of failure" for most high-power cars. If the half-shaft was alot stronger, youre more likely to thrash the transmission instead. So at the end of the day, a $15k repair is better than $100k
Almost sounded like some wheel hop esque when it was struggling for traction. Can lead to this type of failure. Not his fault by any means at all. Just my guess as to why it happened.

What you’re comparing is probably the best times, on a prepped drag strip. What matters is how consistent it is.
In a roll race, the 296 GTB has even defeated the SF90 Stradale and hangs with the 765LT, which comfortably beats the 720S. I’m confident that because of how close it is with the 765LT, and the fact that it has beat it from a standing, that the 296 GTB can go 9.4 secs in the 1/4 mile on a prepped drag strip, and maybe even 9.3 secs

I had this exact noise coming on my previous 2015 huracan once but wasn’t racing and it was a broken piston head and that needed a new engine. The car was 6 months out of factory warranty at 8 k miles and after talking to Lamborghini and submitting papers of good service they sent me a free engine I know how bad the owner felt here

Hey Brooks I remember a few years ago lots of us watching speculated how the 720s would do on a half mile or more vs the P1 or even a roll race to high speed. You could never find one to race though! Having spent time in them now how do you think that would go down? Especially the roll race as I get the p1 and 765 go harder out the trap.

Hey Brooks, I in my 2019 580-2 with less than 2k miles beat a new M8 convertible competition last weekend on Beltway 8 South in Houston after leaving a Car and Culture show. I did not want to race that young black dude in his mid 30's but he started stalking me so be it, lol. The Huracan is a beast with a race exhaust and I did not even go to Corsa mode, only shifted at 7k rpm in sport mode.
Lambo built and raced a Huracan GT3 and won a few titles for a very good reason! I do love my Huracan and believe she looks better than an Aventador imo.
Good to know that a half shaft in the P1 is only about the cost of a decent used VW GTI

When I come in from driving any of my cars, my face is flushed and I'm smiling so much it makes my cheeks hurt. All of my seats are real fullgrain leather, or leather and alcantara... The bonded "Pleather" in a Tesla feels like a cheap vinyl patio chair. A Tesla is what you drive to get groceries. A McLaren is what you drive to feed your hunger to live.

Only Standard Chiron and Divo have turbo Lag or they keep bogging down
Actually Chiron Supersport and Pur Sport doesn't have that problem
Chiron Pur Sport spins tho very short gear ratios
Pur Sport did 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds on a bad surface
But Chiron Supersport doesn't spin and it has perfect traction
That's insane
Chiron Supersport did 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds
And these Pur Sport and Supersport both can do 60-130 mph in 4.1 sec
So 1/4 mile easily 9.2 9.1 seconds
And that's the difference between the 918 and the other two ,you can run the Porsche and later go to Cotsco with no problems
