Funny thing is I just watched a vid on a channel called bikes and beards about how those west coast chopper and jessy James bikes from the early 90’s that would cost 150k+ for a custom themed bike and they were all junk with tiny motors they took from mopeds with no suspension......now tell me people that paid money for that thought they weren’t getting high quality builds? 🤦🏽♂️

That said, I was also watching videos last week about the crappy quality of those old Pimp My Ride vehicles. Now I wonder about something. Was that always an inside joke by the show producers to note the fact they were basically pimping the people on the show to grow the WCC business and bring in lots of money for MTV?

Good to know you can save $1000 on buying wood from a supplier by just having $150k in equipment available and waiting several months to age the wood.
Climbing spikes, ropes, saw, and Alaskan mill could all be had for less than $1,000. Leaving wood sitting out doesn't cost anything. Climbing the tree isn't necessary either, if you just buy a saw and mill you could spend even less.

@@wayando You can mill logs with a chainsaw and about $20 worth of hardware. What makes sense depends on how much lumber you need and the trees you have available.
@@wayando It's not easy but it's actually more affordable and if you own land, you may as well cut older trees to help thin the forest for the younger trees to grow big. It's very common practice where I live.
@@wayando It is a lot cheaper than buying lumber if your building anything substantial and once you finish the project you have the gear to use for the rest of your life. It will definitely pay itself off and then some. I wouldn't call it easy but it's certainly not hard, lots of people do it in more rural areas.

Many years ago we did a camper van build, lots of wood, fold out everything. It had bunks, water, kitchen, table/desk. It worked great touring the New England coast up into Canada.
Next year we went to the Colorado Rockies. Somewhere along the line we had forgotten to calculate the weight of our modifications. It was fun trying to go up over passes, on the shoulder, foot on the floor at 6mph.
So... Fell a tree, wait a year, BUY a VAN 🤣😂🤣👍

You should also put a downspout with a shut-off valve so that way you can drain the tank out the bottom of the van so if there's a problem with the tank itself you just open the valve up and it'll just drain the water straight out of the van and you won't have to worry about the entire tank leaking inside the van cuz there's no way to get the water out of the tank. No use the sensor that is taped to the side of the tank there's a couple of marine sensors that are really inexpensive and you just tape it to the side of the tank itself adhering and you just program it by cutting the tape at a certain spot where the bottom of the tank is and then that will be empty and then it will work its way up to full and then you put the sensor right there on the wall and you just push a button and it tells you how many percentage of the tank is left. That's what I had in my RV worked fabulously

Halfway through I almost forgot this was a Rich Rebuild video with all the nature, the woodworking and the soothing background music.
I've cut hundreds of trees, limbed them, put them thru a band saw but I never cut the limbs first, shimmying up a tree....that's a lot of work.
Get more usable boards by cutting the limbs first. Plus more interesting video content.
This is also done in residential tree work where cars/houses are in too close proximity to cut from the ground. Been a climber for 5 years i do this on the daily.

I actually climb/trim redwoods, that rope we use actually has a steel cable incase it is nicked by the saw. Also, you could've used an Alaskan mill to mill the wood, it attaches to the chainsaw's bar

I don't know how far the build is right now, since the videos propably need quite some time to be produced, but I have a neat idea for the water level indication.
You could use 2 metal plates opposing each other on the outside of the tank, that you basically treat like a capacitor. Then you can figure out what amount of water is in the tank by measuring the capacity which is proportional to the waters permitivity (C ~ εr). You would obviously need to do some programming on an arduino or Pi Zero, would be interesting to see if it works the way I think it will.

A possible car option for security cameras might be the Axis F44. It's a super small NVR designed for vehicles. To handle the abuse of roads, it doesn't use a HD. Those cameras are kind of big and stick out. They have micro domes that are half the size of the full size regular domes that you see. They would sit right on the surface and be just a small half of a ball like a hump. Rather than the neck sticking out and that big barrel. I have two of them on my car (tesla) charger stand outside.

You should consider using a standard KIB rv tank monitor, it can read multiple tanks and has water pump switch built in. The "display" is simple and cheap, probably about $80. The well nut style probes are a couple bucks each. You'll need 4 probes per tank.
